Hello! It's been a long while since I've visited these forums. I was primarily busy playing Vidictus, Dark Souls and Skyrim. I have returned because, obviously, ME3 is about to be released.
I searched for info. on my question, but it was to no avail, so I apologize if it has in fact already been discussed. I am wondering if playing the online portions of ME3 will require an Xbox Live Gold Membership? I will never have such, so if it does then that will immediately disqualify me from playing online.
However, I have a second question, that I just can't quite figure out. I turned on my 360 for the first time in 10 months (I use the PS3 primarily) to discover that my account is no longer valid. After some quick researching I can assume that my account was hacked, and therefore shut down by M$. Well, that sucks, but I don't actually care about the account so much. What I DO care about is if this will affect my future ME experiences (and other games I suppose, if I ever purchase any for the 360 again). The save files from ME 1 & 2 are still on the system of course, but not the account they are 'tied' to. If I create a new gamertag, which I will have to do if I want to continue using the system at all, then when I go to play ME3 in 1.5 weeks, will I have my save files to play from (in the awesome way that ME does.) I'm assuming yes, and am considering testing this by creating a new gamertag and then starting a new ME2 game (to see if I can select my ME1 profile.)
Thank you in advance, and it's nice to be back.
Does multiplayer require Gold Membership? Also...

It clearly states that you need Gold Membership for the full version of multiplayer while loading said section of the demo. So, I'm assuming no for the demo, but yes for the full.
As for your second question, wrong forum section?

1. Yes. I think it says it on the initial load screen.
2. If you cannot recover your gamertag, I'm fairly certain you won't be able to use the files. Unless you move the files to a USB stick then get a rehash and resigner program such, as Modio or Horizon, then rehash and resign your ME2 files to your new gamertag. You'll probably get a more complete answer in the Mass Effect 3 Xbox 360 Technical Support or Mass Effect 2 Xbox 360 Technical Support section.

I have not been able to DL the demo as of yet, InstaShark. As explained my account is destroyed, and I am actually having quite a bit of trouble creating a new one. I'm this close to not bothering at all, and selling my 360.
As for being in the wrong forum, I lumped the questions together since they were on my mind. I figured since I was already asking, someone might have an answer for it as well.
@iTofu, I fear you are correct. I'm even having a heck of a time creating a new account. It's as if my entire ISP has been banned or something along those lines.
