Will it affect the opening or why shepard is at earth?
Will not doing the arrival for ME2 affect ME3 in any great way

One line spoken by Anderson is changed if you import a save on which you have completed Arrival.

You will get the line you see in the demo, instead of one the refers to Arrival. That is all.

At this stage none of know exactly what it gives you since we just have the text file to go by but it does add something.
