Surround sound is not working in the demo.

I hear gunfire, and have no idea where it's coming from.  

I'm well aware that "This is a demo, so it's not going to be perfect".

Just making sure the issue has been brought to light.

NugatRevolution you are not the only one that is experiencing this. I am using a gamecom 780 headset and the audio is not all there. In other words, all the ambient sounds are missing in parts of the game. For example, while the reaper is attacking earth and shepard is running on the balconies I can barely hear any ambient sounds such as explosions and ships flying. It sounded like I was in an empty room with just Shepard and Anderson talking lol. I am not sure if this was the intent by bioware but I would think that there would be much more ambient sounds in a chaotic setting. I'm pretty sure my volume was high enough and the in game audio settings was set to 100. I played mass effect 2 right after trying the demo and the ambient sounds were definitely more noticeable. I am guessing this is a demo which is why lots of stuff is compressed or cut out to make it a smaller sized file to download.

I thought this was just me but the surround sound is definitely a bit off. I turn to a sound and there isn't anything there.

LOL i just played the demo single player again. I have no doubt that there are audio files missing in this demo. There is no sound of the fire crackling at the part where Shepard and Anderson are crawling and walking through the debris of the building. I am pretty sure all this would be in the final game. My main concern is the user interface being too small and that goes for the subtitles and choices as well.

Glad to see I am not the only one having this issue. Are any of you also experiencing Audio problems while playing MP? I am myself. The issue I seem to notice is sometimes the Bass overides everything else. It is just this Game also.
