So was there this much outcry against Sebastian? He only came free with the Signature Edition, IIRC.

I agree day one DLC might as well just be packaged and sold as part of the vanilla game (they should at least have the tact to hold onto it for a few months, as this sort of nickel-and-diming is insulting), but at least this guy also comes with the Collector's Edition. So really, if you don't want all the other BS in the CE, think of it as getting $10 off the full game for not wanting the fancy tin.

I wish I knew production costs and salaries so I could actually make a call on whether or not any of the prices are fair. Then again, I'd just go on another one of my anti-capitalism wangstfests.

how is it not right? they give it free to the N7 people (as it has been stated this is what it was for) and then charge those that didn't buy the N7 10$. I fail to see how this is wrong in anyway as it was designed to be a bonus for the N7 edition.

And, surprise surprise, the game is not even out yet. 

That means they might as well just put it in the actual game

It's amazing how many consumers don't realize the power they yield, Bioware is screwing everyone over with this DLC crap. Other things like this were free, if it was seperate from the main story it would be fine.. but it had been leaked that this was PART of the main story and cut out to be made into DLC content just to make some extra cash? It's not like ME3 wouldn't have sold, they're trying to see how far they can rip us off and how much we'll take.

You are entitlted to your opinion, and hey, there are some truth in it. If it was a simple bonus mission, I wouldn't agree at all, but releasing a bonus character which is most likely done already on day 1, that's a bit sneaky.
But anyways, if you stick with this opinion, be a man and don't download the game either. Boycott it, but not pirate it.
Because a lof of people talking about boycott are actually downloading them upon release.
I hope you are not one of them.
(Anyways, we are talking about a CE bonus. If the CE bonus would be something crappy instead, like a bonus appeareance for one character, the CE crowd wouldn't be happy about it. You can't satisfy everyone with a decision in these cases)
Or you could simply skip the DLC. That's also a way of showing you don't appreciate that method.

agree with op. I will buy the game but I find this completely unacceptable, yes I can still complete the game without the DLC but it's a damn Prothean! It's one of the most mysterious and interesting races in the lore of Mass Effect! In the long run this will backfire on Bioware, many people will now pirate the game because of this.

Actually it has been leaked that it is not part of the main storyline. Nice effort though.

I knew that there was Day 1 DLC, but I was not aware that it featured a Prothean companion. I went ahead and cancelled my pre-order. I'll be renting it on release, and buying it used later. I suggest everyone do that same. Encouraging this behavior is bad for gaming.

People are bound to be galvanized to speak out when a popular figure says their boycotting a highly anticipated game due to marketing practices. 

Personally, I can see where TB is coming from; however, it hasn't affected my decision to get ME3.

Yeah they did do it with Kasumi. It's there as an option, like all DLC. Don't like it, don't buy it. Yeah its annoying, but gaming companies are exactly that. Companies. Money is needed to make more games... allot of money in fact.

Basically it sucks that money exists.

I am 100% boycotting it, I don't pirate games, and I try to keep used game purchasing to a minimum so I can give the dev credit where credit is due

This could have been a giant plot point in the story just like legion but EA dropped the ball for a few extra bucks from a vary loyal fan base and as I have with battlefield it hurts me to say It I will also not buy this game.

No it is because of ONE person's opinion on youtube. This person so happens to be pretty damn popular, I have nothing against him in general and enjoy his videos, however he does overreact in the video about  the importance of the said character itself. He also made mistakes in his video (which he confirmed himself and fixed). I personally think that this issue is really exgagerated and like alot of dlc and dl games lately the price might drop eventually.

Also as said earlier this character was originally meant to be just for the collector's edition. Be glad that the character is even purchasable. I like how alot of people think they can DEMAND and have THE RIGHT to content.

First, the DLC character is not in any way, shape or form required to complete the game.

 Second, if you really wanted to show EA/BW that you do not approved of day 1 dlc then you should simply not buy that dlc rather than screw yourself out of a probably great game that completes an awesome trilogy.

Link? The information I read said that he was part of the main story when some of the script was leaked and since then they decided to make it into DLC.
