After hearing about exactly what is in the DLC, and the fact that it can be brought for an extra $10 if you didn't get the CE version of ME3, I have to hang my head in shame at you, Bioware.

You and EA are charging people for a character that is, quite honestly, a key part in the Mass Effect lore, and something that should be included by default! I'm all for DLC and exlusivities up to a point, but there are things that shouldn't be allowed:

Charcters - an extra character here and there is fine, as long as they don't have a major role in the game - the character added in "From Ashes" is a key part in ME's history that fans will have been interested in since the very first game, and you're asking them to pay extra for this when it should be included in the game itself!

Weapons and Armor - mixed view on this - Single player stuff is fine, as long as it's not over-powered. I don't want to have stuff that can floor everything quickly right off the bat, it takes away the leveling up and interaction in an RP. Minor, cosmetic details I'm fine with (a golden grenade, or specially designed gear for instance), but not something that is going to make the game easy.

As for Multiplayer, I am against any weapon that allows a user to gain a massive advantage without working for it. It's basically getting people to pay for power, and that is not on for other gamers.

I ask everyone who agrees with me that the From Ashes DLC should be made free for all, and available to both new and used buyers of the game, to support this thread, and let Bioware and EA know what we think of this!

--------

EDIT - seems I'm not the only one annoyed by this - youtu.be/Ri0vrJ-y2zM

There's no way to argue that a member of an extinct species should be included in the game itself. If they hadn't had him as DLC, there'd be no reason to expect him in any game ever. Except for the people going around saying "I want DLC 2 to be a Prothean" "no, that's stupid, Protheans are dead." "Maybe they should have a DLC where we time travel back to Prothea." "Prothea? I don't think that was the name of their planet. Forget it guys, they're dead, we don' tneed that DLC." "I think the final DLC should be RETURN OF THE PROTHEANS. A Prothean fleet shows up an invades!" "You're insane. This whole suggestion thread is insane!"

The fact is, this guy is being made as DLC on release, and they are asking people to pay for something, that is quite honestly, a key part of Mass Effect's history and appeal. If this came later, say 2 months down the line, and wasn't with something so key, then I'd understand, but asking you to pay $10 for a huge thing like this on release day is complete and utter BS

Release day 1 or month 2 is no difference. It would have still been budgeted and largely scheduled different from the main game.

It's not key. It's just cool. Cool DLC is what we should want, not what we should complain about.

In case any of you are wondering, social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9382439/69#9403147, yes w want this, why? Becase day one DLC that was clearly cut out of the main game to be sold seperately is unethical. This is a reasonable request, or at least this is: www.change.org/petitions/bioware-and-electronic-arts-please-include-the-from-ashes-dlc-in-all-new-copies-of-mass-effect-3

I have pre-ordered the collectors edition so it doesn't affect me but i still think its really bad removing such a big part of the game and selling it for 10 $ on release. it kinda feels like they are selling an unfinished product. and no its not just a ''cool DLC'' a living, breathing PROTHEAN is a pretty big deal for the story imho

A live Prothean should be part of the main game! I support this.

Y'know, it's a bit close to release to expect any of this whinging to have an actual effect on this particular DLC.

You get a 30+ hour shooter RPG for $60. You do NOT need the DLC to play, enjoy or beat the game. He is extra and his very existence could violate established game lore. If you hate it so much wait 18 months for the GOTY edition that will cost $30 and have all the DLCs for included.

EA and DICE reveresed their decision on DLC things for BF3, so there is still hope. At the very least, they can make it free for all, as Day 1 DLC should be

Myself I bought the collectors edition so I will have the mission and prothean squad member. But that being said, I do believe that a character like that obviously made as part of the main game, and at the same time holds much important backround story for the whole series, it should be made free for anyone who buys a copy of the game, not just CE pre-order people like myself.

This DLC should be for free to anyone, but N7 edition owners have already paid for it (it's not exclusive as it's being painted).

I hope you get it free so I can get a full refund plus interest because my additional mission and character is not real.

If this is made during the development cycle they should not be charging extra. Day one DLC is terrible basically they are selling you an incomplete product and making you pay extra to make it the full game

I just don't get why people think they are entitled to anything but the game itself.

I think its more to do with EA, not bioware.
If your not happy, don't buy it. Simple. Dont start whining, since its their product and they can do what they like quite frankly. Money comes first in any business, customers come second no matter what they say..
Your just spewing out what the guy on youtube posted. To a point I agree what he said but every major game is doing it now, just going to have to live with it.

I hate EA but only buying this game because im hooked on the multiplayer which isnt even that great but as i can afford it, im buying it. Plus not interested in any game out there at the mo. For the record will not be purchasing a single dlc, not even sure if i'll bother wasting my time on single player to be honest

DLC team always exist even if the game just started. Deal with it because you seem not to know how things go while I do.

Well EA have a good oportunity here , tons of free (negative) publicity. If they put the Prothean up for free most of that would melt away and they would probably gain in the long term.

CE's should not be about DLC anyway stick to real goods and leave the DLC for the online passes.

As a customer you should get the whole game, not an unfinished product. a living prothean that is a squad member is a really big deal for the whole story and removing such a thing and then sell it day one is unethical. it's like buying a car and then you have to pay extra for the brakes or go and see a new twilight movie and then you have to pay extra to see Robert Pattinson

Thing is the DLC is part of the game it was made during the development cycle which means it is part of the main game and the Squadmate is a major piece in the story

Except that this was made during the development cycle specifically to be sold as DLC.
