Wait, if this is so easy to do, why don't the developers implement it as a patch to begin with?

I
wonder as much, but according to my last angry rant post on this issue,
the majority seems to be content with the fact Spacebar does pretty
much everything

Yeah, I'm content with it until I start covering by the wall then dying off next to my formerly deceased teammate.

Well, we'll see if it'll spark an interest. This mod would not have come to life if people didn't actually need it.

Thank you for the mod, it is very helpful. Having my character take cover when I desperately wanted to sprint/revive was very frustrating.

Putting four functions may have been necessary to combat the limitations of a controller, but it makes no sense on the PC.

The PC version doesn't even support controllers, so I don't understand why it didn't get a unique interface that supports the users, like with Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I propose that the following changes be made:

Spacebar functions: Sprint (hold) and roll (tap).

A key dedicated to 'use' or 'interact'. I like to use F as my interact key.

A key dedicated to entering and exiting cover. I like to use Q as my cover key.

Trying to rez, but going into cover instead is really frustrating for PC users.

This gives me 2 feelings since it took me 10 playthroughs straight on Mass Effect 2 (3 of which on Insannity) to know Spacebar will be a pain

1) Like Shepard at the Alliance court as you saw in the demo

2) Oh humanity, it took Mass Effect 3 demo for you people to understands me?

The problem is ME2 performed the various actions via separate commands, and also didn't have the additional complication of resurrections.

ME3 has rolled all actions (but running) into a single 'Action' command.

ME2:
name=]]]

ME3:

Name=\\"Shared_Action\\", Command=\\"Exclusive TryStandingJump | Exclusive Used | OnRelease StormOff | OnHold 0.2 StormOn | Exclusive PressAction | OnTap 0.3 TapAction | OnHold 0.3 HoldAction\\"

It looks like they recently deleted the coalesced editing thread in the ME3 pc technical help forum so I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Given their reluctance to add robust PC controls themselves, apparently they're unwilling to let users add as much themselves now.

Super stuff.

I suggest we all move ME3 modding to the Steam mass effect forum (Valve actively supports modding and the mods/admins there ignore the modding threads, they will even make it a sticky thread if you ask them nicely) There shouldn't be any issues then as long as you don't talk about multiplayer editing.

Not once happened to me to take cover when I wanted to activate a beacon or resurrect a fallen teammate. This is really annoying and can be game breaking when you have to try 3-4 times to activate something just because there is a "cover" place there.

I'd advise everyone who posted here to post the same in the feedback threads, if you haven't already, since those are more likely to be read.

I thought steam isnt selling ME3?
Anyway I agree with you guys and it baffles me how the developers wont even do a tiny fix for this game breaking flaw.
