What you say is a possibility, Kav... Although Maric was sprung after only two years in the jail and wd look younger anyway. The old prisoner also seems to be younger in the tale. It's also possible that they didn't share that much since the old timer says he never told Maric what he was in for...

It may be that Maric simply wants to enjoy his freedom while he still has some life in him.

I guess we'll have to wait and see! I am expecting big things for #4 since David Gaider said it was possibly his favourite issue.

I don't believe it will. David Gaider has implied that the story in the DA comics will not be a canon story that affects the game. I doubt they would do that as it wouldn't be fair to fans that don't follow the story outside of the games. Sad for us that do, but oh well.

Well, I guess I see it as, in the comic, Maric is alive. No matter what anyone does in any of their games, Maric is alive. So thus, he could be alive in DA3 and play a role.

It seems to me like Alistair won't be playing a pivitol role in anything going on with Maric in this comic - he's more or less just discovering what happened. So people who read the comic will see through Alistair's eyes what's going on with Maric, but it all still would have happened regardless of whether or not Alistair was alive in your game. And if Maric shows up in DA3, they'll just explain who he is/what happened then, so that people who didn't read the comics didn't miss out on anything.

It just seems silly for them to bring Maric back to life for a 6 issue comic and not have it affect the games at all - I mean, he's kind of an important guy.

Well they didn't really... Maric was always reported as MIA rather than dead and right from the beginning there has been speculation as to what happened to the dude.

I've read issue 3 , it's still a good comic.
Glad to finally see Isabella aboard her ship!
It's getting interesting,I still don't fully understand what's going on (probably the point anyway...)
but maybe we will find out the promise Maric made to Flemeth in the Stolen Throne.
The dragon girl (i don't remember her name ) was cool , but the style fits Flemeth better , and i 'm not a big fan on having a lot of little flemeth wannabe around.
But if it turns out to be some kind of crazy amazone armada with a good story going on (like what the hell is their relationship to dragon) ,I'm all for it.

Oh la la, I like this new witch gal. She's got spunk. Hope we see her in DA3. Haven't been following this comic. Is she one of Flemeth's daughters? Also, I'm guessing The Silent Grove takes place after Asunder?

I haven't read the comics yet, but all I can think of now when I picture Flemeth putting pieces of herself in artifacts is Lord Voldemort! All we need now is an invisibility cloak spell.

Well, just the amulet we see in DA2 so far. But I wonder if there are other things. I wouldn't be surprised.

Well, I'm wondering. Given the whole "many daughters" rumour and the fact that we know of a few different ways that Flemeth extends her lifespan (possessing a 'daughter', putting pieces of herself in artifacts, etc) I think there is a good chance that this witch could either be a) another incarnation of Flemeth or one of Flemeth's 'daughters'. Or she could simply be a completely different witch, but I somehow doubt that (especially given the connection to Maric and Alistair).

Could it be possible that its a cult of sorts? Maybe following the role of the acolytes of Dumat with flemeth's whole plan for the dark ritual, bringing back an old god?
