Think Alistair wants to cross the border :D

And this was an interesting moment in the comic, considering that in-game, Isabela does try to cozy up to the crossbow and has referred to her by name. Hmm.

How do we know Isabela's whole cozying up to Bianca thing wasn't just an attempt to make Varric snap out of it using humour?

He's a strawberry blonde. There's definitely some red in there.

This comic is very nice (Varric + Isabela = autowin) but it's kind of slap in the face to all those people who thought that putting Alistair on the throne, esp alone, is really stupid idea. Which I did. Think, I mean.
Some parts of the story just seem forced so far, to me. Let's wait

No one says he's on the throne alone.

I loved this issue. But kind of annoyed by Alistair having green eyes. He definitely does not have green eyes. Oh well. The story was awesome. Loved the Morrigan reference and the throw back to The Stolen Throne and agree that Isabela and Varric were full of win. Oh, and Teagan! I was almost hoping Isabela was going to go get Teagan. But yeah, that probably would be a bad plan.

This is what happens when Alistair goes on adventures without the Warden. He gets kidnapped and Isabela gets kicked in the face.

After issue 3, I spent a while wondering about the "unexpected visitor" mentioned in the review for 4 was. My first (and most boring) guess was Claudio. I can't say that I was able to guess what his motivation would be, however.

Now I'm wondering who Claudio's master is. I'm guessing it's someone with an interest in interfering with Flemeth's plans, since this person appears to be targeting Yavana. And... who knows?... maybe Claudio's master was also responsible for imprisoning Maric in the first place, in an effort to prevent his deal with Flemeth from being honored.

Who would the culprit be, though?

The Architect? In some ways the darkspawn and the dragons are ancestral enemies. Ditto the dragons and the ancient Tevinter magisters.

The templars, or a corrupt faction thereof? They're certainly aware of Flemeth, and have tried to kill her many times before. Particularly zealous templars might even be willing to ally with the Crows in order to stop her mysterious plans.

Sandal?
...

SANDAL?

I'm pretty sure Flemeth would kill or possess you immediately afterwards. But you know, I don't want to crush your dream or anything.

I'm curious about this as well. The Architect is a decent guess, actually. I hadn't considered that. I don't really see templars being in the picture at all. And as for Sandal...he wouldn't need to hire anyone to do his dirty work. We've seen what that kid is capable of.

Favourite issue so far, Claudio's master is certainly someone interested in the arcane, so I'd say someone associted with the Chantry wouldn't be an awful guess. Who's to say it isn't just a new character?

There's certainly no reason Claudio's master can't just be a new character.

But there are only two issues left in the comic. That really isn't much time left to wrap up the story. Would the comic really introduce a totally new villain in the second to last issue? Only if that villain has a clear connection to previously established lore, I hope. Otherwise we're most likely going to end with yet another dangling plot thread.

How about Claudio's master being Zevran?

...it would be a very unfortunately canon that turned Zevran into such a tool that he'd string Alistair along like that, and employ a hireling willing to kill Isabela.

Reading Issue #4. So there really is other Witches of the Wilds. She seems interesting. I guess we finally know what Maric discussed with Flemeth, in the book, back during the war with Orlais.

That would be awesome, but somehow I doubt it.

I'm still thinking that Claudio's master is the same person who had Maric imprisoned in the first place. And back when that happened, Morrigan still would have been hanging around the Korcari Wilds with dear old mom.

Eh...not really. I mean we know he was told to go to Yavana but we don't have any clue what Yavana did with him. So they're just stringing along that mystery by passing it off from "What did Flemeth tell Maric?" to "What did Yavana do with Maric?"

Meh... I hope not.

I don't know who Claudio's master could be but I'll guess Yavana and her dragon come to rescue Alistair, with maybe Yavana in dragon form, and then its revealed that Yavana's dragon was Flemeth all along.

Of note, there was concept art for 2 dragons for this comic released a while ago and the one we've seen thus far was labeled Flemeth, and the dragon's horns match Flemeth's exactly.

Perhaps a bit of exaggeration on my part, I admit. The answers might be in future issues, but I get the feeling that Maric is another addition to the playing, like the Warden. Answers might come I hope.

Yeah, I guess I'll agree with Varric:

They just keep stringing along these Witch of the Wilds mysteries now to the point where its lost any sort of tension and excitement for me anyway. If they do actually reveal in concrete terms whats happened to Maric, then maybe I'd get more interested, but the cryptic BS has to stop.

Its like having a wrapped gift sitting under the Christmas tree, except its sitting there for a couple years and you're wondering whats inside. You finally get the chance to open it....and its another wrapped up box. Its like BioWare is afraid to actually answer any of these big mysteries because they don't know where they're actually going with them so they just keep having Flemeth or Yavana or Morrigan spew cryptic jibber jabber that can be spun any which way, allowing them to be completely non committal as to any consequences. They're not really interesting cliffhangers if they never get resolved or only get resolved with even more cliffhangers.

Hopefully, something actually comes to fruition and we get actual answers in the last 2 issues and not just "Oh, Maric is in another castle!"

I get the feeling that there is a pattern here. The Warden, Hawke & Maric were all saved by Flemeth whereas they could then give her what she wanted in return for their lives. The Warden would bring the child to the world (Whether or not the child's role will become important remains to be seen. Plus the Dark Ritual is optional anyway), Hawke would smuggle her to Kirkwall, and Maric would do something else which is uncertain. It's like she's gathering potential assets for something, but I don't know. We'll wait and see what the future issues will bring.

This one was my favourite so far because of the characterisation of Isabela. Not that I entirely understood it. Maybe I'll go search in the spoiler forum for a thread in there.

About her dead husband? I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't read it yet, but she basically clears up what really happened there. She only makes hints about it in the game.
