Ladders. Holy crap they are annoying.

Walk near one, and you're stuck slowly climbing all the way up or all the way down, with no way to cancel? What a bunch of crap.
You should be able to go up/down at any point, at will. Like the good old days of shooters before consoles started mucking up the works.

We've yet to see any maps where a ladder is essential to reaching a particular path / area. From my experience so far, I've only had my character climb when I was looking directly at it, and walking to it for half a second or so. Never just "walking near one."jotun04 wrote...
Okay, I absolutely HATE the implementation of ladders in this game.

And oh boy. Another 'clever' little straw-grabbing-jab at consoles to really express your dislike. It's not the developers' design decisions at all. Nope. Consoles as a whole are responsible.

problem solved
what even better is, is the fact you can use a power while rolling or jumping down while your jumping animation is still in effect

Except that going up and down ladders was a common function in console games as well before developers wanted everything to be AAA cinematic experiences.jotun04 wrote...

This is one instance where I wouldn't mind Spacebar getting another function added to its list (given that I'm not very likely to charge/dodge/use/revive whilst climbing ... or would letting go off the ladder count as "use" or "dodge"? hmm).
I'm waiting for the day I find myself climbing up a long ladder and a Nemesis looks down from the upper leve, a trollface painted on her helmet.
This made me grin.stysiaq wrote...
OP is right. ME3 should return to ME1s elevators.

Oh, I have nothing against the ladders per se, love 'em! I'd just favour a bit more control over how I move on them. Being "locked" into always completing the passage once started seems kind of ... I dunno, very basic.Dubs77 wrote...
Yeah ladders are pretty lame in the game why didnt they just place ramps instead..
W to climb up, S to climb down, Spacebar to jump off. <- ideal interaction
