If the DLC was developed after the game was finished, then how come there's voice files from the Prothean in the demo files?

Because they record voiceovers at various times through various stages of scripting and so on. The script and VO could have been done but the actual level design and polish might not have been completed. "Developed" after the game was finished might not be 100% accurate but "finished" after the game was finished most certainly is. They wouldn't have wasted resources coding and building levels for something they knew they didn't have to have done for a month after the main game due to certification times and disc manufacturing.

TotalHalibut <_<

Totalbiscuit, the cynical brit.  The man's opinions on the internet are very moving, he alone on his video about FOV in darkness 2 is getting the developers to patch it in because he has hundreds of thousands of viewers listening to him say don't buy darkness 2 cause it is not a proper port!  Now it's don't buy ME3.  The cynicalbrit whether you like him or not is like a earthquake on the internet.

And hey if they make free, cool. If not, the world will not fall out of orbit.

And btw Shale and Zaeed was a method to avoid used games.
So they technically would be there if there wasn't any dlc ;).
I wouldn't miss at all those content.
And before you say oh then you didn't play it at all.
I did for DA:O, ME1 and ME2.
DA2 was a piece of **** an abortion made by bioware that I had the displeasure of playing it so didn't get any of the DLC made (thank god that I only paid 20 bucks)

Then don't buy them!

You're not being forced to buy any DLC to play the game. You're missing out on some kick-ass content, but that's your choice.

And shut up about Dragon Age 2. Your further opinions are now invalid.

Oh I touched your wound?
Bad Writing, Dumbfied Combat and just 2 companions with a decent story.

Deal with it.

I was like you back in the days, I remember Mass Effect 1, free DLC came with it , the Bring Down the Skies and then I got the Pinacle station, 1 hour of shooting target training, was fun.

Then came Dragon Ages Origins, saw Shale(A well done character that influenced on Orzamaar missions) on my disc box, I was like oh thats what my friend meant about controlling the used games market, it was fun, and plenty of time to enjoy.Felt the game was hand crafted, then DLC's came, return to Ostagar and Wardens keep, they charged 13 bucks for both basically.Didn't felt that they were worth the price of 13 bucks, but still they brought a great game with plenty of replayability, they deserve the money.
Got the Awakening expansion and the last remaining DLC's

Mass Effect 2 released, I got worried with the fact they removed some of the rpg features(Exploration) and animations (crouch animation) and added a boring element(scanning I'm looking at you). But still the story was satisfying, they had Zaeed ( Ok character, but they could had explored more , since its the founder of Blue Suns for Christ Sake).Had a decent replayability too, bought the DLC's with the same thought, give money better game etc etc.

Now Dragon Age 2, saw the uproar, I was thinking hell people are overreactin over the game, had some business to do , didn't got it during the release.I thought myself well no problem I can get it later.

Saw the game later in the promotion bin, picked it up and thought that was my lucky day.
Opened the box , looking for the good old code for my character, just received a code for a store and a dog(Find out that the dog was just a summon spell).
Played it and saw a violent decrease on the quality overall, artwork, writing, gameplay...
I finished the game in 2 days, I was in shock because I said to myself, I didn't play a bioware game at all.

Now I see this and expect that I go " im ok with this?"
You are lying to yourself.

I think they're just claiming that it wasn't actually completed until the game had gone gold - though that still doesn't make this release system fine, in my opinion.

Instead of the CE owners complaining that the SE owners are complaining that they didn't get the same thing as them, wouldn't it make more sense if the Collectors got something like a ME3 poster signed by the VO cast, instead of ingame things that change the gameplay, then everyone is playing the same game, enjoying the same thing, but the CE owners get something cool, that actually matters in the grand scheme of things.

CE owners are after all suposed to be collectors.

So why are you all here complaining about something that doesn't matter to you, let the anti 1 day DLC crowd have there thread, go create a "we would like a mass effect 3 poster and signed memorabilia" thread or something instead.

because we some gamers/consumers are upset against Bioware by doing this kind of r@pe toward to us.

Corrected.

i dont see why you take their side into this matter so your okay with giving money for something that should have been included in the game ? its not just some random character like zaed was... its a prothean, plus dlc day 1 is never a yes, but okay bioware representative.

"should have been included in the game" - that's the problem. Who says it should have been included? As I and others are tired of saying, this 'DLC' was announced months ago as being a part of the CE. It has always been clear that it wasn't going to be part of the SE. Should, could, would are irrelevant.

It doesn't matter when it was announced it's still bad. As a side note saying 'should' is irrelevent is a statement that ethics is irrelevent which is stupid.

Because the script and the voiceover files are among the very first things to be done (you can't animate speech until you have the speech)? And because, as has been pointed out by Bioware, it was important to make sure they integrated well into the game?

Really?  You were there?  Do you work for Bioware or for any other major game manunfacturer?  Or are you just saying that because of butthurt over $10 of optional content?

No, I wasn't there and I don't work for Bioware, though I do work for a major software manufacturer.  However, the difference between you and me is that I'm not declaring their claims as outright truth or lies while not knowing any legitimate facts one way or another.  C+ on that attempt at a snarky comeback, though.

This topic is absolutely not one in which to discuss Dragon Age II, which was developed by a completely different team. This is to discuss this specific DLC for Mass Effect 3.

And of those 22,000 maybe 3,000 were actual pre-orderers of the game. Maybe 1,500 of them will actually cancel their pre-order over it.

Essentially this, the amount of work that they had to do following the game itself going gold is pretty negligible compared to the amount of work that had gone into it while the game proper was being developed.

Bioware said many times that they were doing their best to make sure the single player was perfect... but how can the single player be perfect if you left a prothean out of the main game? Seriously, they put MP on the disc, but a protehan, who is integral to the Mass Effect Lore and story, is left out?
Something is wrong here...

That is what a CE should be. EA are doing the same thing as FTP MMO's and selling game advantages. As TB said I don't want game advantages (I find games easy enough as it is) it takes away a lot of the fun of progression. Some people just can't pass up those advantages though.

It's bad practice, aside from cosmetic items everyone who buys new should get the same game content.

I am a fan of the series, I bought both of the previous episodes and related dlc, but this move makes crap: despite being passionate I took the "normal" version of Mass Effect 3 and am nearly a scam to force people like me who has curiosity about Prothean and their history to spend more, now you have more passion for video games, LEARN FROM CDP and their Witcher 2, mercenaries!

What the hell! Why people insists on linking that fu**ing video?!? I know that reading 20 pages or so could be boring and simply linking the video is much easier, but holy s**t, it's every 10 posts!

And btw, I totally agree with this guy:
