Frankly Michael, at this point a lot of people don't really care what you and Casey have said about the timeline on these DLC. We care about a very lore heavy chunk of the game, that is finished, not being included in the game.

PC users for some reason in the US already get charged the same price as console gamers, there's your extra $10. You are a producer? You should know what makes a customer angry. This is one of them. Online passes are one thing, cutting actual content from standard editions of the game that I buy new is another. You won't be getting any of my money.

I find this godamn appalling. Sadly I love Mass Effect so much I won't be able to help myself but buy the game and...because I have OCD, I will inevetably buy the DLC too, meaning I am the problem which lets Bioware get away with this. I just hope I have the backbone to keep away from Bioware products after this, I'm honestly saddened something as money grubbing and nasty as this would happen. God I hate DLC.

Same here. Being nickle and dimed to death by Bioware...

Here is her response to my previous post, which can be found several pages back:

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I wish I didn't have to worry about spoilers because I'd love to explain what clever things BioWare did to make the DLC a great addition without taking away from the main game.Believe it or not, I am more frustrated than you are, I think.

And here are several other responses to other questions with similar scopes:

I hope you understand that I'm in a position where to reassure you, it would require me to reveal story spoilers, something that I don't think is acceptable.Personally, I began my career as an archaeologist (for serious!) and the events surrounding this new character speak to me. However, if it wasn't DLC, it definitely wouldn't have been in the main game. There's other things that didn't fit in the main game that may end up as future DLC.Again, I think this is a cool edition and definitely intended as a reward for serious fans (many of whom have purchased the collector's edition so this isn't even an issue for them). However, I have played the game without it and the lore surrounding the DLC is in the game already, this character just gives their own take on it.Was that any less vague or helpful to anyone? :P

I don't have much insight into the financial or production decisions (nor is that something I'd like to have to be honest!) but I know that we put money into DLC in terms of staffing and creating the product. It's not free for us to make. Goodness, I'm being paid to interface with you guys and gather your feedback (which is a dream btw)! Again, I wish I could give you a rundown of what costs were incurred to make the DLC and why we feel the cost is justified, but I'm not in the position to do so. Hope you understand :)

What a joke. LoL
Go ahead and cancel your CE pre-order and watch it sell within the hour.

This day 1 dlc will effect nothing. Complaints will not change it now,or next time.
I hope this isn't the only day 1 dlc personally. As I already have the CE and would like to spend some money on day 1 dlc. Where it at Bioware?

OOOOo New model ships for my cabin! Bought!
Oil for my robo-dog,Bought.
A comic,bought.

Oh? Because a guy I've never heard of before today get's a bunch or people who may or may not have been planning to buy the game to post a positive on his page? I mean I've seen people on this forum say that they're ticked but still going to buy the game anyways. So yeah....I don't see this causing as much trouble for Bioware as your hoping.

That said, if you don't like it and feel it prevents you from purchasing it, go ahead. You'e not hurting me as I preordered the CE, and most of the people I plan to play MP with are not on this board.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as well. Expect to see things like this as you are aggressively marketed at:

Joker: "I have discoverd your old ground Vehicle Shepard. You need to come quickly and drive it into the geth infestation."

Shepard: "Ok I'm on it"

Joker: "To experience this mission please purchase "Shepards Geth Race" on X Box live for only 1100 points!"

EA should keep this in mind next time they produce a AAA title. Your should give all you consumers day-one DLC regardless of what edition they buy. . .Yes, next time they should keep this in mind. Posted Image

I think they pretty much did with Kingdoms of Amular.

There were class sets up for sale.Like spend money and you get an advantage.

but the game came with the online pass for the "House of Valour"

Not really sure why they choose to market Bioware this way, first DA2 and now ME3. Always just seems to end up rubbing people up the wrong way.

I would like to point out that saying that the dlc shouldn't cost extra isn't the same as saying it should be free. It is saying that the cost should be covered under the cost of the game. That's the problem with the concept of day 1 dlc. They are effectivly sectioning off part of the pre-launch devolopment time and charging for it.

But thats only very marginay true, they are charging you for minor work done on voice overs and organization done during pre-launch development. The rest of the game is developed during Post-Certification during which there is NO development on the game itself so Pre-launch Development has ended, that is what you are paying for and its something I still fail to see how people can continue to claim other than simple lack of understanding of the fact that games stop being DEVELOPED a month or more before they ever release.

The thing is certification really isn't a point where you must stop working on the game. That's what patching is for and it's also essentially what Shale and Zaeed were: Glorified patches.

No but theres also no requirement that you do work on it and just because you do does not make it part of the game that they are offering you Companies are not obligated to patch anything at all, or offer you anything beyond what they complete at time of Certification If they do so nor not is at their discretion and it is in many ways very dis-respectful to believe that they must do this and  must provide this content to you simply because they chose to work on it during that period.

I am not saying that companies are obligated to patch in content made after certification or that any external force should oblige them to do it. What I am saying is that I don't agree that content made at that time should not be charged and that I will do everything in my economic and argumental  power to stop it because if this kind of stuff continues it will get worse. before long it won't be after certification it will be at the end of devolpment. Then it will after 50% of devolopment and so on.

>That feel when, for being positive in light of this somewhat negative situation made Youtubers think I was a Bioware or EA emplyee planted to say nice things.

Sometimes I think I'm a bit too optimistic and positive for my own good... nevertheless, it's nice knowing that, assuming a Zaeed/Kasumi sort of recruitment are the norm, we can recruit Prothy nice and early. And that is nice, becuase being stuck with Liara and Vega, two of my least favorite characters, until I get Garrus and the VS back (I assume that they may be out of comission for a tad, seeing as journalist given the Mars mission to play said something about them getting injured, but them being out for a bit is none but speculation on my part.) Also, I hope that we have a chance to get Legion back, that sure would round out my squad.

Really?

My brother, who for years has laughed at me for liking Mass Effect and has called it various homosexual slurs, saw the trailer that came out before the new episode of Walking Dead last Sunday. He's now a believer. He's asking me every day about Mass Effect, downloaded the demo, and eager to get into it.

That trailer had much more impact than your hairbrained notion ever will.
