I have not once used the word "biodrone" in reference to any person with an opposing opinion, I challenge you to find one instance of me saying such a thing. I disagree with you, and I'm not going to be quiet about it because you can't handle differing opinions. I'm sorry.

You LIAR.

You're not the LEAST bit sorry.

I know this, because neither am I.

YOU may not have used the word 'Biodrone,' but I have had that word flung at me more often than feces on the window of a primate exhibit. In fact, the post immediately following that one, I was called a Biodrone.

Biodrone. As if that term somehow nullifies my viewpoint.

Unless you have complete knowledge of my mental state you can't claim that I'm not sorry. Seriously, I would love if I could walk into this thread and have everyone be positive and in agreement, that would be ****ing fantastic, but apparently a differing opinion offends quite a few people. I felt I had to apologize for that.

It does not nullify one's viewpoint, it's just a word - and it doesn't justify insults.

it's mostly the attitude really, i know you love bioware and that's okay, they make great games.
but they really do need to learn a lot more on how to handle DLC, ME2's day one DLC was a step in the
right direction and they ought keep going in that direction instead of going the opposite way.

You know the they are happy right now. The plan has worked masterfully. Collectors Editions are sold out this DLC is now in crazy demand. Its getting all kinds of publicity for free. So now gamers will go and spend 80-90 dollars on day one, even if they rage about it here because, they know their game will not be complete without it.

The sad truth, I'm afraid.

I really want people to understand what's going on. I realise that there are some children around here (and with that I mean actual children and thus people inexperienced in the ways of corporations, not intended as an insult in any way) who are simply trying to defend the people who produce their favourite games, but it's up to the rest of us who are older to explain how things are going to unfold.

If we allow EA to do this to us, then there will come a time where we pay 60 dollars for a barebone launch title and then fork out another 25 to 40 dollars for Day One DLC that gives us content that's been withheld from the launch disk for no other reason than that we allowed it.

Publishers don't care for the people buying their games, they care for the wallets their money is coming from. If you do not believe that, you are fooling yourself and I mean that in the least offensive way I possibly could. We all fool ourselves every now and then, and sometimes we run into something we enjoy so much that we just want to pretend there's nothing wrong, but trust me EA's head honcho's and shareholders are laughing themselves all the way to the bank if we let them.

Draw the line.

One game, one sale.

 Okay, for the record?

The Prothean being in the script leak is not an indication of anything.

The script gives NO indication at what level of development he's at beyond the fact story events were written for him.

Don't claim that the script or voice files are evidence that he was in any significant stage of development, unless you want to look like an idiot.

Um, the way Bioware made it sound was as if everything was thought up and done after the game went to certification.  The Prothean being in the script shows they planned on him being part of the game from the start.

Yes, and as we know, games change during development!  Do you thinking everything in the script is set in stone?

Then they should have said so but they didn't they lied and said it was made after the game was finished.

It was made after the game was finished.  There was a good 3 months between certification and going old or so I'm told.  They made it then.  Just because the idea was older than that does not meanthe work began earlier.

I support this post and am very disapointed in Bioware for this clear money grab.  I've been a BW fan for a long time (hello, BG1) and I consider this move to be unethical.  I hope they recant on this prior to launch since it would be very disapointing if I had to cancel my pre-order.

Go ahead cancel your order, someone else WILL buy it. **** I may buy 3-5 copies out of spite. LoL

No One will buy a bare bone game. I mean come on listen to what you are saying. A squadmate means future game will be barebone. No it doesn't,not at all. LoL

Wow you take this thing wayyyyy to seriously. Bioware aren't members of your family, they aren't your friends, they are a business out to make as much money as possible and will screw people over to get it. Most(not all) want to stop things going too far and make a fuss to be heard. That benefits you too, Bioware isn't looking out for you at all but yet you defend them to the point of a religious fanatic. Thats why people will refer to you as a Biodrone.

Also peasant isn't an insult unless you have a superiorty complex.

I am right there with you, even though cancelling a pre-order is quite extreme. But I am glad to see other people picking up on the principle that the problem lies not with the content itself, but the way its sale is being presented.

Yeah, at this point, opinions have been stated. There really isn't much more to say. I think the amount of attention to a $10 piece of software is a record, though.

Don't ya just hate principles.

That's a little unfair.  I think many people would say you have every right to be upset, though they may argue how dangerous or wrong Bioware's actions are.

I think the principles of this argument are fine, but so are those of the people defending this situation.  The CE announced a DLC character, most should have known this was comming, and frankly it shouldn't have taken the DLC crew member being a Prothean to get people rilled up.

I'm sry if I seem rude it's been a long day, I just think we should at least try to be civil if not respect the perspectives of both sides.

This argument would hold validity if they had advertised the DLC for SE as well. They didn't. So since it's not explicitly stated that it would be part of the SE, why would it? Just using the same logic here...

Unfortunately, I think it has gone way past the "discussion" stage at this point. :pinched:

So, who ordered you to click the link, last time I looked posts in this thread are not visible unless you click the link.

Not a single person. Does not mean that this hasn't gone from "discussion" to one side or the other trying to be right. I can understand why people are upset, no matter how they see it, and they are well within their rights to feel the way that they do (just as I truly believe you have the right to reply to my comment anyway you like - besides, I certainly can't tell you what to do or say here).

I can also see why people are trying to defend their point of view as well. But instead of everyone being civil, it's unfortunately slid to a point where no one can say two words about how they think or feel without being told they are wrong - maybe not in those exact words, but from what I've seen since page one, it's kind of hard to miss.

It was, actually:

Why would he say that if it wasn't exclusive to CE?

To frame Bioware in a good light? It doesn't matter the dlc was never said to be exclusive and even if it was it would've been clear that it wasn't exclusive since they did the exact same thing with DA2.
