Eden Prime. One step to finding the conduit and a surviving prothean? Or is it just a return to where it began? Interesting.

With how Decepition ended I do not want to go to Eden Prime.

I'm sorry, what?  Whose policy is that?  If Bioware isn't even calling the shots in its own studios, that raises an entirely new set of concerns.  Believe it or not, my perception of EA is immeasurably worse than my perception of BW.

EA is everything soulless and wrong, and the only reason I even consider buying ME is on the assumption that BW have largely been allowed discretion.

Uhhh, basic business?  Why would they spoil their own DLC?  I don't want the surprise of the mission or the character's personality spoiled for me.  So why would I want them to tell me?

so, how come that if this DLC is made after the game completion and/or by a seperate team, that we find audiofiles from him, in the demo?

It just doesn't add up.

I've probably done enough damage with the old script details, even if I was trying to be vague.  Even if we layed out the whole thing, they'd still stick their opinion.

Which is fine, I don't care if they are wrong or not, just as long as they aren't spreading it around and giving folks misinformation.  I'm a bit aggravated with the handling of the DLC, but that doesn't mean I should abandon all logic and ignore facts so I can make a scene to get something done.

For the love of God, will people stop talking about "the market?"

Look, the elephant in the room of digital media is that the market exists SOLELY on the honor of the consumers.   Everybody in this market could get what they desire for free if they wanted to, and then there wouldn't be a market and there wouldn't be an industry (at least not one that resembles what we have).

So I DON'T have to pay money for the good, and neither does anyone else.  I pay money for the good when I think the vendor deserves it.    The days when game developers could leverage our desire just to play the game are long dead.  That desire can be sated without giving the developer a dime.

The ONLY leverage these companies have anymore is the goodwill engendered by their reputation.  It's not about supply and demand, it's about whether their customers feel they deserve to be rewarded for their work.

A market where the goods can be had for free if you don't like the cut of the vendor's jib is not a conventional market, so conventional market analysis doesn't really apply.

Because they don't make the game in whatever order you think they do.

235 pages. I hope this backfires on sales as well and they rethink the decision on something like that for future releases.

DLCs are irrelevant, otherwise they would be in the main game. I think that a prothean alive is a pretty big deal, just because what he is, a breathing prothean, and should be in the main game, not in a DLC. You don't think the same, I get it, can we agree to disagree?

Well, they already DID spoil their own DLC in an attempt to drum up sales, so that kinda goes by the wayside.

Those are base audio files. Happens all the time. Release a demo, spoilers will leak through since you're going to use the same engine as the full game.

VO work was done alongside the rest of the VO sessions.  This has been explained numerous times by both those of us who actually accessed said files and from BioWare.

Bioware, I just want to let you know that I'm not upset with you in the least, my main concern is the pricing for the From Ashes DLC that will be available at Launch. I feel that after Zaeed and the Firewalker missions that were available for free at Mass Effect 2's launch, this is just a step backwards. Additionally, I didn't know of the bonus character or mission when I pre-ordered my copy (the contents of CE editions didn't mention any bonus character or mission, I only saw that information later on on the screenshot of the CE contents).

That being said, I know Mass Effect 3 will be a amazing game out the box and I can't wait to play it. Even though I do have the CE pre-ordered, I still feel like this should be free for everyone who purchased a new copy of the game. I say this because, again, of (in comparision to) Zaeed and the Firewalker missions.

I know From Ashes DLC will be great because you all have done a spectacular job with Mass Effect 2 DLC. I just wish that Standard Edition owners didn't have to pay 10$ for DLC thats immediately available after lauch. I know its optional, but this is Mass Effect - time and time again you all have brought us really awesome DLC. People who really enjoy Mass Effect who haven't pre-ordered the limited N7 Collectors Edition will pay 60$ for their standard edition with an additional 10$ for the From Ashes DLC. To me thats seems pretty expensive to spend on only a standard edition of the game at launch, when the collectors edition is only an addition 10$ but contains way more content.

This is just my opinion on the pricing of the From Ashes DLC. I love the Mass Effect Universe and can't wait to play Mass Effect 3!

its because VO are usally done months before actual work on the game even begins (it usally starts right after a script is finalized).

It's capitalism 101.  That's the market as it exists, and that's the reality of the situation.  You don't give money to the street musician because you can't get the music anywhere else, you give it to him because you appreciate his craft and his effort.

Depends on the VO...most of the cast didn't do VO work until about midway through production, but those like Hale and Meer are usually involved earlier due to the sheer volume of work they have to do.

Only if they value it more than the price for which they can have it.  If Bioware said "fine, we're going to charge $1,500 for a complete game if you guys complain about $70." I daresay you wouldn't pay for it even though you still wanted it.

Except that acquiring the goods without paying for them is technically illegal, but that's a whole 'nother can of rooms.

And you're right, the leverage the company uses is the goodwill they engender.  And guess what?  Bioware has YET to do any reasonable damage to my opinion of their goodwill.  Sure I was annoyed that the MP early access for non-BF3 players too over a week overdue to come out.  Sure, I was annoyed about the fact I have to use Origin.  But these are nitpicks honestly.

I still feel that Bioware has maintained a positive feeling.  And as such, I will continue to support the company by buying their products.  And if you feel they haven't maintained that goodwill, then it's your opinion and your right to claim otherwise.

But you're trying to state your view like it's factual truth.  When it's not.

What resting place?  What characters?  What's Deception?  I know nothing of this heresy you speak of.

There are only two words that make Javik important to me "Living Prothean"; not a jesus character, not a scientists, not even an incredible soldier, just a "living prothean"; I don't care if he was just the janitor.
