You didn't "just finish" with this DLC. It was known about ever since the EA monkeys accidentally leaked "the prothean" during E3 2011.

Here a just a few other ways that I can prove you are lying out of your butt.

Zaeed was a day-one release, much like From Ashes, and it was free.

When the download for From Ashes is only a few KBs, it will prove that we are not downloading extra content, but a code that unlocks content that is already on the disk but locked due to nickle-and-diming protocol.

The download for this DLC is over 600 mbs. I saw it myself.

You did? Great!  I shall stand corrected on the KB/MBs! That stil doesn't change a thing, buddy. You and I both know that this crap is already on the disk, they just want you to fork over that extra sheep-money.

If I give you 10$ American, how many sheep dollars does that get me?

More then a few of my friends are going over to someone's house that bought the game to watch their "try to screw over shepard, lol" playthrough instead of buying it themselves.

Even that is only happening because this is the third game in the series. If ME1 was coming out like this then noone would care, and just skip it.

For Dlc to work means half of the files on disc and the other half you later download to complete the file.It must be done this way for dlc to even work otherwise it's a pain to make extra stuff.

This is all about I don't want to pay for the CE , but now that I heard CE people get free dlc suddenly I'm mad because I didn't buy it.And this is followed by moaning about it , but I bet everyone who's saying buys it or still has it pre-ordered.

I didn't exactly want to spend $97 , but you know I found a way and decided to deal with it because I wanted the CE stuff(and I don't like every single thing but it is a fair price).No different than paying for 1st class plane tickets and getting premium service that comes with it.

the fact that they have been an intregal part of the storyline since ME1?  so have the protheans.

There is an incredibly large difference between THE Protheans and A Prothean. Treating them as the same is not helping your argument.

Plus Ashley, Liara, and just about every other character in ME3 is vital to the narrative of the game, while the Prothean doesn't.  That was a writing choice that was made.  It's ok not to agree, but saying he is important on the basis of that you feel that he should be has no real ground.  

What's with all the logical fallacies in this thread anyways?

Yes, because the majority of the DLC's development didn't occur until after the certification process began for ME3. So the DLC missed certification by a fairly wide margin.

had to make an account (and wait the 24 hrs to post) to let bioware know that this is bs. i ended up canceling my pre-order when i heard this. so now i have to wait 6ish months for a cheap used copy because i refuse to give you one more cent ever unless you stop doing this stupid stuff. let me make this clear though i dont mind the ce getting a bonus character that the standerd doesnt BUT the fact the that character is a prothean which are very important to the lore of the game and that fact that your charging $10 for it are insane. why give the ce someone like zaeed and person that has no impact on anything and theres no way a prothean wont have some impact on something. Also way not just put him in free for new copys of the game like you did with zaeed and shale?

Well, I wouldn't go that far.  I haven't counted, but there can't be more than 100 people who have posted in this thread.  That is a far cry from the millions who will buy this game and don't care about this issue.  I am sure they are listening to the opinions here, but the vocal minority screaming the loudest isn't always right.

I'm not saying they were OH SO CLOSE, I'm saying it was never their intention to hit the certification with this. It was announced as CE day 1 DLC NINE MONTHS AGO! You understand that part, right? It was always planned as DLC, at least since that point nine months ago, so they were never shooting for the same certification date as the main game.

No one is saying they were "Oh so close" to finishing.  They developed the DLC after they finished the main work, and finished it a bit after the retail went into certification.  It isn't an excuse or conspiracy; it's just how it was scheduled to work.

Really? You'd support an entire character being made exclusive to a small audience? Congrats, wait until Gamestop and the other stores find out. Liara is now a gamestop exclusive!

In all seriousness no game that uses squadmates should have any that are "exclusive". And you're getting away cheaper if you didn't want the CE stuff and only wanted the character.

"Important to the lore" and "Important to the game" are two different things. I've said it before but there's a ton of great lore in the books and comics, should those all be free too?

Bioware is loving this uproar guys. Those screaming bloody murder and screaming boycott are drawing casual fan's attention to the dlc. They may have not even considered the dlc before, but seeing how much uproar a few hard core fans are causing, they are much more likely to purchase it now.

All this uproar has done, is guarantee better sales of the very dlc you guys are railing against.

Bioware wins again!

I'd say it's probably a few more than 100 based on nearly 5000 posts due to some passers-by that posted once or twice but yeah, it definitely has been highly dominated by a select group. I myself have posted dozens of times in this thread trying to correct people's misinformation and incorrect rantings and ramblings. They're entitled to not buy the DLC or even be upset on the way it's been handled but it's upsetting when things like "it's been done for months" and all this nonsense keep coming up.

I honestly wish I I knew, but seeing your posts in this thread have given me some hope for humanity . I like discussions and debates, but the majority of this is anything but that. My college professor would be appaled.

sigh...man people really are just blowing this out of proportion. The same intent behind this Prothean DLC is no different than The Lair of the Shadow Broker. The Shadow Broker DLC wasnt necessary to the story of ME2, but it was still huge. I can also assume that Bioware had PLANNED to come out with the LOTSB as DLC before the game had even finished development. The only difference between this and the Shadow broker, is that the DLC team decided they didnt want to sit on their asses and wanted to finish and get this DLC out there as soon as possible.

If bioware really wanted LOTSB to be a part of the game then they would have. Instead they decided it would be DLC later on. It was a conscious decision that was made pre release.

if you really think about it, its the same thing. This Prothean business isnt anything new. It just has the illusion of a shiny coat of corporate paint. Try not to get all up in arms about it.

I think I know why the DLC was excluded, its because the DLC was originally free with Alliance Network Pass (Free with every new ME3 copy digital or physical) but this was changed when Multiplayer was introduced and so the multi player was made the "Zaeed DLC".

It still does not make it right.

He can't be too important , after all this is Shepard story not the Prothean.Prothean is coming along for the ride to see if he made a difference.

Any publicity is good publicity, right? I still maintain that less than 5% of people will actually cancel a pre-order or not buy because of this. Probably more like 2-3%. They'll easily make that up in DLC revenue.
