This is rubbish, you can also complete any mass effect game with only two squadmates. The important thing about prothy is that he's a prothean, that's the issue, nobody would be making this fuss if it was another Zaeed or Kasumi.

I paid €20 extra beforehand, without knowing much about the extra character - I had faith that BioWare would give me something awesome, and I took a gamble.

Now that my gamble has actually paid off, a bunch of people say they shoud get it for free. If it had been just another mercenary aka Zaeed 2.0 nobody would care.

And the funny thing is, the SE edition buyers still have the best deal. Don't care for the extra junk that comes with the CE? Still want the Prothean squadmate? Just pay $10 extra! It's cheaper than buying the CE.

Nor are you entitled to get content for free. You're not even entitled to games, period. I don't agree with playable characters  sold to me Collectors Edition Exclusive and  Day 1 paid for DLC .. Thats what Bioware is saying the are going to be selling to me as a consumer okay.. I the consumer with the disposable income that I have... choose not  to support that policy and business  buy  not buying the game. They don't have to give me anything for free...just like I don't have give them my money for the goods they offer.  More correctly in this case buy there games new off the store self.  Instead I will get the my Bioware games used.

Entitlement doesn't have anything to do with it... hell they could offer it free the next and that still won't change my veiw on it.

So what you are saying is that We as the Consumer have no say, and should take what ever they want to give us. Take it or leave it.

Developers can do whatever they want, as long as they make a statement that its " working as intended" " was developed by other people" or " after certification" 

Here is an Idea, to help Bioware milk more money, they should totally make Tali , Garrus  and Liara an DLC that after 1 mission in the Core of the game where you can use them, and inorder to continue to use them as an Squadmate, you have to pay 10 dollars or they just sit at Normandy.

Because they can, and we will still buy them without a second thought.

Later on, Bioware announced that the Bonus character+mission would be available to SE buyers as a DLC.

If you bougth the CE/DDE version then you paid for said content, if you bougth the SE version, you did NOT pay for said version.

/case.

The CE/DDE comes with several other bonuses, at no point did it say that the character would be exclusive, just that it would be included with the game.

What ever said that we do have a say in anything? You don't order an aurthor of a book around to write material and you don't tell a director of a play/movie what to do. In the long run it is all up to them and if they want advice or consideration from their fans they are free to do so. It is statements like you just made which paint fans of anything into a bad light and make us sound nothing more than a pack of selfish children.

Right, they never said it was exclusive because they planned on selling it as day 1 DLC for SE buyers.

Agreed, so that's why I wonder why people are so angry about being able to pay for a bonus content from the CE/DDE (ofcourse, I will repeat that I bought the DDE maintly for the soundtrack since I knew that + all the other stuff would be worth it).

However, it was said that CE&DDE included an extra character and mission.

And extra = something SE buyers need to pay separatedly to obtain. I can't really say I have a problem with this.

You (and some others) seem to have forgotten that the Protheans mysterious and revered among the ME Universe because all people THINK they built the ME Relays and everything else. (then we have their uplifting of the Hanar, but ah well...)

But WE know they were just another alien race that got reaped by the Reapers. Of course, they succeeded in screwing with their plans for the next cycle, but that´s it.
I don´t know if Prothean tech will be the key to destroying the Reapers, but even then, this particular Prothean won´t be someone who to have this tech/knowledge.

I do understand what everybody is on about, he IS a prothean. But get over yourselves. Bioware can decide for themselves what´s vital for the game and what´s not...

Guess we´ll have to play the DLC to see if they were wrong or right, but I choose to take their word for it.

Yeah, I'm not a “dude”. It doesn't matter that you got the pre-order in July, the signature was made yesterday because of this very thread. It's incendiary and you know it. You wouldn't have the DGAF on it if it were otherwise.
