I don't see anything offensive about that? You implying that is offensive is your own opinion and choice just like if you support buying a CE or SE  or buying the dlc or not. Your choice.

Yeah, I think most can figure out what DGAF means. I'm sure that most who have the banner doesn't mean for it to be confrontational. You can't deny that it doesn't come off as such. Especially since it was made when the discussion about “You should have bought the CE version like me!”. I'm glad there is a group for those who love Mass Effect. It's an awesome game. The banner wasn't made for that purpose and most in this thread know it. Most in this thread knows why it was made and certainly comes off as arrogant and a good rub-it-in-yo-face kind of thing. As I said, both sides are at fault for the provocation and name calling.

That is perfectly fine reasoning but don't signal people out like that. I knew from the moment you posted that long paragraph that you pointed me out. I haven't pointed anyone out in this thread directly and I would hope others would do the same. The fact that you didn't doesn't help your cause. I repesct you as much as I do anyone else here just as long as we are being acceptable of one another that is.
If people are allowed to support TB I can support a group who doesn't give a flying freak about him and think he is missing out on a great game.

I agree with KBomb, you guys are only rubbing your CE in everybody faces, this is as provocative as anyone else calling you biodroid.

I don't care whatever you say, your actions speak otherwise.

Wow never knew there was alternate outfits/new missions. Now, my Squadmates with have 3 different outfits. Very happy. Thanks BW.

Every sqadmate also starts off with 2 alternate outfits.

No, i meant because in the CE there is already alt. outfits. but now with the DLC theres 1 more

See that is the confusing part I do believe you are correct though. The CE advertisement did promote alternative outfits and now we have confirmation that the dlc itself will have outfits as well. The confusion is though are those the same outfits. I don't thinke they are the same outfits but won't know until the game is out to be completely sure.

 explination of the protheans survival

this is from the mass effect wiki so this should finally silence some questions

However, the Reapers had overlooked a single world. The Conduit research team on Ilos — of which all records were destroyed in the initial attack on the Citadel — survived the first wave of destruction. The facility went dark in order to avoid detection and the staff agreed to go into stasis, hoping the danger would soon pass. Vigil, a VI, was assigned to watch over these Protheans in cryogenic stasis until the Reapers had gone, then wake the staff so they could begin to rebuild. But as the centuries passed and the Reapers persisted in their genocide of the Protheans, Vigil's power supplies began running low, and the cryo pods were in danger of failing.Following contingency planning, Vigil began cutting power to the pods of non-essential staff to conserve energy. When the Reapers finally withdrew through the Citadel relay, only the top researchers — a dozen individuals — were left. Vigil woke them, and the scientists pieced together what had happened. They soon realised the situation was dire. Without sufficient numbers to sustain a viable population, the Prothean species was doomed. Desperate for contact with others of their kind, a carefully-coded signal was sent to the beacons on other planets. Though it was unlikely there were other survivors, the scientists thought it was worth the risk to try reaching them. The signal not only contained a warning of the Reaper invasion, but a description of Ilos itself, to give them hope. However, the surviving Prothean scientists knew that rescue was unlikely. Instead, they chose to protect the races they had been studying, spared destruction due to their lack of advancement, and began working out where the Reapers had come from, and how. After decades of study, they worked out the connection between the Reapers, the Citadel, and the keepers, and discovered a way to interfere with the signal that compels the keepers to activate the Citadel relay. Using the Conduit, the Prothean scientists left Ilos, travelled to the Citadel and altered this signal. Their intention was to prevent the Reapers from opening the Citadel relay again, and trap them in dark space, but they had no way to be certain their plan had succeeded. The fate of these Prothean scientists is unknown. As the Conduit portal only links one way and there was no food or water left on the Citadel, Vigil hypothesised they eventually starved to death.

For the ones claiming to be screwed/mad , find me an article that says Prothean dlc was to be included in SE's like ME2.If not then this is nothing more than people assuming they would , and are mad because they didn't.

Come on people! Keep shelling out that money! It's only 10 bucks! 15? 25? 30...?

I'm extremely curious to see how the future of gaming will turn out. Games will be 80 bucks and require the purchase of hundreds of dollars of DLC just to play the complete game.

You people would still continue to shell out money, wouldn't you? Sit back and take it, right? Nothing we can do?

You people are the problem, not Bioware/EA. Stop supporting these godawful business practices and it would go away. But no. "It's not a big deal", you'll say. You will spend that money and always will. Just shows how stupid the human race is.

And people wonder why the world is in an economic crisis.

is the SE advertised to be a complete game without getting CE? YES

does the SE player get access to the same characters and missions the CE player does WITHOUT having to purchase extra content. NO

then the SE is not a complete version. end of line.

you can justify it anyway you want, but the above is still fact.

It's not a fact.  Just because you feel additional content should be included does not make it complete.  That is an opinion.

If a game is complete as is, then it's still complete, whether or not there is the presence of additional content.

ill repeat the question i asked yesterday then.. what if liara or ashley was the day 1 dlc?  would you say the game was complete then?  my guess would be no.

obviously there is a difference between ashley/liara's character and the prothean.  my point is, it shouldnt matter.. its still content thats being excluded from a certain portion of the playerbase at launch.  you may be ok with that kind of business practice. me.. not so much.

bioware has got me this time around because its the third game in the trilogy and i want to see the end.. but i wont be supporting them in the future if they continue down this road.

depends on your definition of "complete" (BW believes it's complete without this additional content)

though did you really expect them to say anything else? to say otherwise would basically mean that they were giving in and while i'd like them to return to their previous DLC business practices i doubt that they would admit to such a thing anytime soon.

even so, BW believes it's complete alas i do not, that may not count for much or anything for that matter but i figure sticking to your convinctions is never a bad thing regardless of what side you're on.

I ordered the CE at www.mycom.nl

A few weeks after I orderd it the price went up to 70 euro's or so. Weird thing, the PC CE I ordered is now not even available anymore on the website which can mean two things, they're through their stock, which means I'll get one for sure, since I ordered it well on time. Or I'll get mine way too late or something. The website is well respected in the Netherlands though.

Good for you! I hope you get your copy on time! =]

I was supposed to buy it from an independent retailer, but then there was some drama and I had to order it fom GameStop instead. :pinched: I don't usually buy from them, since there are wonderful independent retailers closeby, and I'd rather give them my money, but what can I say... I really wanted that CE.

Well, I've paid more in tax faires, so as long as it's more fun than a 40min nighttime trip from Heathrow to London, I consider myself a winner!

Yep Vigil in the long run doesn't know and can only guess. But I don't think that is the problem most people are having with this dlc. The simple fact that this character is a Prothean is what bugs most people and that he is not included in the game as a whole. (Since most people believe a living Prothean is extremely important to the plot of the series why wouldn't he be a part of the game)

This is simply disgusting.
I've bought both Mass Effect games before, but didn't have money for the DLC's. I missed out content like the 'Lair of the Shadow Broker', 'Kasumi' and got laughed in the face by my friends who torrented them instead and got the DLC's for free. And companies wonder why people turn to pirating?

If this content was made before the game came out, (and it was!) then include it in the disk! Or make it like Shale was in Dragon Age: give a code for those who purchase the game, and let us download him!

Dear Bioware, don't do this to your fans. I know, extra profit, and such, but believe me, the game is going to be an amazing success even if you don't rip people off even more. This guy is a Prothean. One of the most important part of the Mass Effect universe. Please include him in the game.

Wow, don't flatter yourself. I didn't single anyone out. In fact, I said both sides. Tbh, I didn't even pay attention to any of your postings until you replied to me. If my particular post struck a cord with you, then maybe that says more about you than it does about my post. In fact, looking at your banner, it doesn't even contain the line on the bottom that reads (paraphrased, of course) “No F's were given that day” Which was the original banner I was speaking about. So, yeah. You kind of brought yourself into the spotlight on this one, for whatever reason you had. lol...Posted Image

I have preordered the ce, but i feel some sympathy to people who have only been able to get the se. the DLC should be available to all NEW compies of the game, ie, Zaeed + Kasumi. its one character at the end of the day, so i dont really see the problem in giving it away for free

Uh.... Yes it is.  Its like Kasumi or Zaeed you don't have to have it.  They're add ons.  If you don't want to have to pay 45 bucks for some extra Zombie maps in Black Ops the game isn't "incomplete" it just doesn't have the add ons.

Yes there is a difference.  Liara and Ashley both have a significant impact on the plot of ME3.  Not the Prothean.  If Liara was made to be DLC again because she had 0 impact in ME3, I would have the same issue that I do with the Prothean, but it wouldn't make the game incomplete, because she was not a part of the game in the first place.

I'm not in support in how they are handling the DLC.  I think it is taking advantage of people at launch.  But the reasoning quite a few of my fellow oppositioners have brought to the table have more holes in them than a Varren chew toy.

All I'm saying is that it's still a complete experience without the additional content, no matter what our opinions on "how it should have been" are.
