I'm not saying it's worth anything at all. I didn't buy the CE, myself. Ask someone who did.

its also in the OP:
Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game - right out of the box.
again, it doesnt matter how important the content is.. if one version of the product has more content than the other out of the box, than the version with less content is, well, less complete and an inferior version.
you can spin it however you like, but it doesnt make it any less true
If the two versions were priced the same, I'd agree.
However, they're not. When I'm picking up my game, I'm going to pay the equivalent of $120 for the CE. That's $40 more than what US customers pay for their CE, and twice as much as people who only buy the SE.
I'd very much appreciate people (who aren't BioWare) stopped telling me what I deserve for parting with that amount of money and claiming they should get the DLC for free.
Exactly , people have a choice.Either you buy it day one , play core game or boycott.

How do you figure that ? Out of the box of one you get the DLC, so they can't have the same content out of the box and no you don't get the same game because of that.
Well, if I buy the CE (for 80$) and put in the disc to play ME3 then we both have the same in game content. If I redeem the in-game DLC codes from XBLA then I have more content than a SE consumer. But I PAID for that content so of course I should get it.
WE BOTH HAVE THE SAME CORE GAME. I have access to download more stuff than SE consumers BECAUSE i PAID MORE FOR THE GAME.

Why don't you buy the DLC of the internet then it will be "free" as well

You misunderstood me. Liara and Ashley, as pretty much all the major characters in ME3, do have a major impact on the narrative of ME3. They are important to how the game is presented. Without them, well, there would be no plot.
This individual Prothean is not. He has no impact on the game itself. Lore-wise, it's an important bookmark and really awesome, but it doesn't affect the actual game.
The Protheans still play a major part to the plot of the game, just not this guy. Whether we think he should or not is not our decision. He isn't, and that's the way he is. If Liara and/or Ashley were neglible to the game, I wouldn't have a problem with that either.
You got a good point there.

However, taking advantage of what is supposedly a very loyal fanbase on launch in this way is still a questionable practice.
Couldn't have said it better.
Anyway, I now just go and pray that the CE in my country isn't sold out already due to pre-orders, and hope that I can get it as soon as possible.

1) It's the same retail game in both versions. Both discs are complete as is.
2)The CE, which will have advertised, will contain codes on a piece of cardboard that will allow player's to download additional content offered to those who purchased the CE.

If you paid for the CE, you've effectively just pre-paid for the DLC (and other goodies), instead of purchasing it seperately. You then have to download the DLC whatever version you purchased, it's not like it's on the disk. (The Xbox Live version of From Ashes is a 628.18 MB additional download.)

They are milking the content in a sense as they could have made it available only in the Collector's Edition. I won't be naive to not point that out.
The thing is that there are more fans would like this material than what the Collector's Edition would accomodate.
Which was most likely, possible the plan from the start... put on the CE .. the people who could not get the CE get it as paid day 1 dlc at lunch. Use the CE to create more demand for the Prothean character or its smart, cunning and everything esle. Hell I even admire it but I don't have to buy it.
Collectibles.. soundtracks(love those), Artbooks(love these even more) little trinkets(awesome) big bad ass looking figurines( Freaking Awesome), Making over DvDs( informative and awesome)
playable characters and squadmates = not awesome, not cool.
Characters in a game are not exclusive items Collector Edition Items that a later to be solid as1 day DLC.
That's a personal opinion. additional content that is gameplay based in a Collector's Editio is semanticaly equivalent to extras and deleted scenes in movies that can be scene as 'extended scenes' that somewhat mentioned. That doesn't make the original game incomplete.

You are dodging the subject, because what I think right now, is that CE buyers are actually getting the DLC at no cost at all. That would mean that all your big talk about getting what you paid for and not giving anything free to SE buyers is complete garbage.

pre-paid the collectibles (physical and/or digital) and got offered the DLC apparently.

On #[/s]ME3[/b], content creators completed the game in January & moved onto the "From Ashes" DLC, free w/ the CE or you can buy seperately.
RT @[/s]ElDakak[/b] "Sorry to bother... the Digital Deluxe has 'From Ashes' DLC for free?” - Sure does.

Free as in, no additonal cost to people that purchased the CE, not free as in people that purchased the CE get it for nothing. It's obvious part of the cost of the CE goes towards everything included, otherwise the CE would be the same price as the SE.nightcobra8928 wrote...
