I've seen Mass Effect 2 used going as low as 40 bucks a week or so after release.  Regardless, you're still paying for the DLC by buying the Cerberus Pass.

No. What about the loyal fans who payed more for the CE under the assumption that they were getting a bonus character? Why should you get it for free when I already payed extra for it?

This shouldn't be about getting it for free, but about why they decided to sideline a character with such potential.

The extra character should be from a race less essential to the central lore. And if BioWare was doing this purely for CE fan-service, they would have given us a hanar teammate like Blasto, not a character from a race that is integrally involved in the story of the trilogy.

Yea, the character wont be important. I have my money on this character being a really crappily shoehorned in. Itll be the last of its kind crap that will put so many holes into the lore of the other games that it will just be out of place. The DLC might be worth it if its another race but a prothean is just a horrid idea.

That's right, they paid 20 bucks for "free" DLC.

That's reasonable, though, and you know why?  Bioware doesn't get any profit whatsoever from a used game sale.  The access to the Cerberus Network is what we call "an incentive" to buy it new, but that incentive was across the board for all new versions of ME2.

It is not include because you buy the cheap edition. People with the CE have it included because it is for the CE in the first place.

People who got CE should be getting this DLC in the full game anyway and the CE should be cheaper in my opinion.

Yes.  If it's exclusive content, and you choose not to buy it, then you have absolutely no reason to feel entitled to it.  Because you're not.  It's completely unfair that CE buyers would spend 20 extra bucks for content that the game was giving away for free anyway.  If you don't want it, that's fine, but don't whine that you don't get the exclusive content for free with your SE.

what is there to defend?
It is extra content as decided by the producers of the main product. You can decide that after hearing about this being extra content,that the main product despite already not having this extra content now has even less content then when you decided to purchase it.
Nothing changed in regards to the main game. What changed is that you are now aware of what the extra content is and came to certain decisions.
1. They should have made it part of the main game on the disc.
2. They should have made this dlc free to everyone.
3. Due to the Race of the Squadmate, it has to be important to either the plot or the lore of the game.
4. How dare companies try to make more money, shouldn't they feel gratful that I spend this much.
5. I wish things could go back to how they were before because they were so much better(for me)

[/quote]You're correct, but it's not full-priced. If you buy full price, the DLC is all included. If you don't, you have to cough up the money later. Either way, you don't pay more than you should.

From Ashes is a free bonus for the CE - what is wrong with making those of us (me included) who ordered the cheaper SE pay to have that bonus? You can argue that day 1 DLC should be in the game, but CE needs some real extra in game content to be attractive.

It's not some core integral important part of the game, it's a bonus. You're not missing some important thing by not having it! And if you feel you are, $10 and you get it. That's still cheaper than collector's!

CE buyers are paying about $80 bucks for the all the goodies + Prothean + complete game

You're paying $70 bucks for complete game + Prothean

The complete game?  By itself?  $60

We're all paying for the DLC, regardless of the manner of it's release.

That's why it was in ME2, to dissuade people from buying used - which I agree with. Game stores make a fortune on used game sales and not a penny of it goes to the developers. They should have done the same in ME3, not this bull**** that they're pulling.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 provided free certain free DLC granted I agree they weren't exactly prothean status(I actually think this is a very smart move because everyone will want the DLC). They don't push out a games like Mass Effect every single year and this is the last of the Mass Effect universe most likely, so if they want to actually charge for DLC this time around let them.
