Split hairs if you want. You don't get to decide what my 80$ CE's "actual" worth is. I'm buying it from BW/EA not you.

no need to overreact, that's why we're asking casey hudson if he really meant that the DLC in the CE is free of charge.

the hot potato as they say is in his hands now.

Sorry. I get defensive when people make it sound like I'm getting things for free--when I'm clearly paying 20$ more for all the extra content. I'll try to calm myself.

and if he continues to say that the DLC is free on the CE?

So I'm paying 80$ but I'm still getting the DLC for free? that sounds like a lie. . . You don't get to choose which items I paid for in my CE. I never got that choice. I would have preferred to have paid 70$ dollars for the DLC weapons and prothy, but I don't have that choice. BW/EA promised me all the items for the CE I never told them, "Oh I want an N7 patch!" They promised me an additional mission and character. It isn't free. I'm paying for it.

you are still avoiding the question:
Do you think that all the items you get with the CE edition, plus the DLC (that cost $10 to everyone else) is worth $20?

You know it doesn't add up, CE buyers get the DLC at no cost, while SE buyers are the ones screwed by having to pay up.

So lets be honest now, and stop this DGAF aptitude, next time even CE buyers will have to pay for day 1 DLCs.

I might point out they're worth nothing, if you get down to it.  Our hobby here has little functional value.  If Anonymous blows up the internet tomarrow, that CE is a coaster.  (While my copy of Baldur's Gate will continue to serve for many eons to come.)

I'll toss in that people in GB have to pay almost $40 more for thier CE, at current exchange.

i doubt that shepard managed to kill every single collector in me2, there were probably more squads around the galaxy maybe even some were aboard the reapers in dark space

This.  I don't think they're all dead either.  Just the ones near their base.

Could someone clarify, are the alternate outfits that come with "From Ashes" the same as the ones in the CE?

Hopefully EA will get burned badly by all this, they are sucking out all creativity from gaming.

From a business perspective, I honestly do not see that happening here. If anything all this is likely to have created more demand.

EA marketing are excellent at their jobs. It just doesn't always mean that the end user is going to be happy about everything.

And if the odd person or two cancels a CE pre-order because of it/doesn't turn up to collect it, there's likely a ton of other people more than happy to take it off that store's hands.

So now we have to wonder how the Collectors are on Eden Prime (if this is present-day Eden Prime) and how different they may be not only with the new A.I. programming, but also lore wise without there being a Collector General to be a conduit for Harbringer to issue orders.

im thinking and its only a guess and NOT from the script but what if a prothean was put on eden prime as a form of guardian to monitor the prothean beacon there?

its just a thought

Personally hope this is a flashback mission on Prothean-Era Eden Prime.  That it's Javik showing Shepard what happened and possibly bring the Beacon subject full-circle.

Well I'll make a complete 180 and fight for SE consumers right to the same free content I'm getting Posted Image

It looks like they may be starting to wobble. Calling the DLC free content on the CE which it is by definition as bonus. It paves the way for free DLC for all.

Again you are not paying for the digital bits you are paying for the physical items that cost EA money to outsource.
You may not like it, you may not accept it. But that is what Bonus means.

If you sent a Complete game wouldn't it get boring, tiring after awhile? That's what good about DLC it make the game long lasting, better. I understand some don't need. Either ways The More Mass Effect the better, Yes Please. To whiners Deal with it!!

Whatever happened to just selling a complete game?

This merchandising circus is so confusing you will need to sell DLC guidebooks, so people can figure out what parts to buy to get the full game.

Hopefully EA will get burned badly by all this, they are sucking out all creativity from gaming.

I'll support individual developers who make games out of a love for the media, and not those who work to exploit the consumers as much as they can. Thanks Bioware for completely ruining the third part of the trilogy with intrusive DRM, tacky DLCs and general overhype.

I'll just let TotalBiscuit do the constructive arguing, because I'm too disappointed at this point to make much sense.

What about, instead of coming in here and just making a statement, you actually address the counter-points brought up to your "complete game" assertion? That's called a discussion. Otherwise you come across as one of those kids who put their hands over their ears and go "La La La I can't hear you!"

They are additional from the ones in the CE.  The screenshots released indicate it as such.

Because a lot of people (just not necessary on the BSN) will not see it as shafting customers.
They'll see it as offering content that may have otherwise only been available with the CE.

---

Also, in case people have not already seen, there's free (what I assume will be day 1) DLC available already.

Separate? Good, that means we don't have to pay 10 bucks for the whole thing if we already have the CE preordered.

the DLC might be free but the rest of the digital content is assuredly in the total extra cost with the digital comic, litograph, soundtrack, artbook and n7 gear

I still cannot believe people are complaining about this, and I have to laugh because most of the people complaining about it are the same people over and over. Your cause is fruitless give up the company did not listen on many other things, what makes you think they will listen on this?

make examples of what other things you speak of :wizard:

The changing of the lore with heat sinks and thermal clips, the inclusion of multiplayer, adding a character such a Vega, getting rid of most of the squad from ME2 and only having them as cameo's... I would continue but I would need to play the game to see what else was not changed that was asked for by the fans.

Things they have said to of changed that fans have asked for helment toggle, adding in RPG elements, more weapon and armor options, not making multiplayer mandatory and using achievements to back it up. But sadly to even find these out, We are still going to need to play the game to find out what has been changed.

Bioware is not going to listen to people who feel entitled to something that was suppose to be an N7 edition perk. Fan or not, you have to pay for it just like those who purchased the N7 edition did. And breaking it down money wise, you are getting more on this DLC then you did on any single DLC from ME2.

Also don't worry because Bioware is still likely to have some free DLC in the future for the game.

P.S. Bioware, Thank you for the really good games even though you have done somethings that do not make sense and go against what another game said. You are still the Best gaming company avaliable right now with a great lead on Bethesda. Skyrim is not as good as people make, but it is still a beautiful looking game. Also Bioware as far as gaming goes I have never felt like I have wasted money on a single one of your games because of the replay value. I have close to 400 hours into ME as well as ME2. I had over 200 hours into Jade Empire and around 170 hours into the first Old Republic until my old XBOX turned into a paper weight. Keep doing what your doing, Dollar for Dollar your games are the best value on the market and I have no problems paying for your games. The same cannot be said for many other games.
