Not really, everyone knows casual fans always far out number the hard core ones...it's the casual fans attention that this is getting the word out to.

Me3 sales will be epic.

They probably will be. People are too invested in the series to give up on the ending. It's what happens after ME3 when that no longer applies.

I doubt EA will hit their 6-8 million though. Not enough pre-orders by the look of it.

I hope for there to be an amazing amount of sales.  The amount that ME2 sold was very disappointing.

3.5 million on consoles alone and probably half that for PC.  I'd hardly say 5 million sold is disappointing.

Oh, and I forgot the most important bit, those new to the franchise won't have a vested interest in a prothean.

Want to back that up with numbers?  And by numbers I mean actual pre-order numbers globally, not the number of likes on TB's video page.  I liked TB's video, even if I disagreed on the action he insinuated to take, but I'm still buying the game because there aren't any issues with the game itself.

If you want to talk about EA just look up the video on YouTube The Corporation (doc)it'll tell you all you need to know about its practices. I already said that I'm getting ME3 and am going to play the sh*t out of it and I'm not buying anymore games from EA or want anything EA has to offer. I'm only buying ME 3 because I've already invested so much into one and two and then I'm done with them for good. For those that don't want to watch The Corporation on YouTube the one part that really made me sick was they did a psychological profile of one as if it was a person and it came out a Psychopath and there was so many scary things in that doc it crazy.

To EA it will be they are shooting for the big numbers. I think Skyrim sold 10 million or something.

Over the course of 2 years.  I hyperboled, but it's still disappointing to see a quality game like ME get outsold by a carbon-copy game every year with 10X the number of those sales in the first day.

As of last week it was 760K on the 360, 170K on the PS3 and 80K on the PC.

But surely Bethesda must be about to go bust, without any Day 1 DLC?:o

Couldn't agree more, but unfortunately RPG's are never going to compete with FPS's in popularity.

Well they either will or they won't even if I did back it with numbers it would not a difference because there are no sales figures yet.

I'll do a prediction though which may or may not turn out to be correct.

High initial sales (based of ME2) then a sharp drop off.
Places like Amazon will have overordered and the game will be 25% off within a month.

It's the old sold vs sold through thing.

That's nonsense seeing as though the CE is sold out in UK, the country that buys the 2nd most games in the world, and that's not including all the SE pre-orders.

Plus there's what 330mil in the US, and ME is more popular over there, and Canada it's home country? And the rest of the world?

You pulled that number out your ass.

uh, the problem with that is that you have to dumb down ME3 if you want to win in amount of copies sold, and I don't want that. I already have to tolerate Chobot, sexied up characters and that now everything is about Earth and not about the galaxy, be careful with what you want.

Don't know a lot about the situation really , those were just numbers I heard which sound plausible enough to be right.

I can agree with that, though usually the discounts occur after the costs in development are taken care of, followed by a prolonged drop in sales.

But yeah, that's pretty much how I figure it will be as well.

Wow that's worse than I expected by a long shot. I'm actually stunned.

CE's are limited so you can't judge on sold out CEs totally meaningless.

That's USA pre-orders. That's not global, and it you need to take into consideration the higher prices globally. Australia for example is much higher, and even the UK is slightly higher.

Seeing as the armors are (at least, as we have seen) Alliance made, I wonder what Tali's armor would look like. A bulky human made quarian envirosuit? Sounds legit. I wonder if Prothy gets new armor aswell.

We were just discussing the numbers of pre-orders though.  We can wait for others to run the global calculator for us after it launches.

Just a note but PC does not include digital sales in case you are not aware.
