I'm waiting for the fallout in a couple of years or so from the fans if they ask 'when is Mass Effect 4 coming out, how are you taking the ME universe forward?' and Bioware replies 'We're not?', 'why?' ask the fans, 'because there's no pleasing you' says Bioware..... Cue mass hysteria on BSN.


I'm getting tickets and popcorn if that starts to play out.

Also in the end it's EAs property and it has become very obvious. Bioware, atleast the part that makes important decisions, appear to have stopped caring about the integrity of the franchise. What matters is pleasing EAs shareholders.

The thing with CDProjectRED is the company is doing there best in the department of AAA titles and still value the situation "You buy the game =you buy the support". What we see in ME3 situation is a very dangerous trend "You buy bere minimum and pay more for anything more". Kingdoms of Amular released a couple of weeks ago.

class Equipment DLC - The sort of stuff that makes the game easy. Certainly does nothing to add to the game.

In the box
House of Valour - New area/arena/quests and a special house via online pass.
Bunch of ME3 stuff (no cost).

Now thats the way to do it. The sort of people who bought the CE for items will lap up class packs. They have no affect on anyone else game and the Prothean goes into the online pass.

BobsSmith101, I have been reading your posts and I agree with you about a bunch of things.

Remember when game companies used to release free DLC, not because we were entiltled to it, but because it made customers feel good. And these happy customers made companies like Blizzard (pre-wow) into the super success they are. If you want to be cynical about it, it was free advertising for them.

And then, isn;t it funny when something becomes so successful they conveniently forget what made them so great, probably something to do with the expanded finance department they now have to manage their pile of gold... and become greedy money machines.

It is a prothean, Collectors are just genetically modified protheans by the reapers.
This one is a pure prothean that survived the 50000 years of hybernation

The reason they are called collectors is because nobody know who they actually are, they just showed up in our galaxy getting slaves and then disappearing ,hence the nickname for them.
They are genetically modified protheans.
i kn ow how to read and so you should, THEY ARE sharing thew DNA  but their MODIFIED in comparison to the original Protheans. From the picture alone you can see that they look alike but with many differences.

It is true what K1LL STREAK said though (my quote is not working atm) it was announced months ago that a bonus character and mission would be included in the ce. No one was moaning about how it should be free, or that it was cut content, even though is could easily be assumed that it would be ready for launch. Bioware didn't have to release the same content right away so that it would be avalible to everyone, however they have.
So....how about we all stop and just anticipate the release of Mass Effect 3?

Yes the screen shows all the relevant lore about prothean genetics and species thingy.
It's a collector.

And if you said that its a Prothean that hibernated for 50k, then you kick in the nuts people who said, ohhh its not relevant , he is optional.

But for PS3 and PC users, it is.

I could make the claim that no DLC - whether it was given free of charge by the publisher or not - is actually free, since you need internet access to download it, and you have to pay for internet by yourself...

But I happen to agree with you; the XBL users do get ripped off. Not by BioWare (or even EA) in this case but by Microsoft.

Yeah, its a retcon. They explain it well enough in the game, so it doesn't bother me, but if you call it a retcon then you must also accept that this character IS a Prothean - that is the nature of a retcon.

You can't claim its a retcon and then claim its not a Prothean. By the very nature of it being a retcon, that is what Protheans look like. Or at least some of the Protheans. All were considered one species, but I can't explain further without delving into spoilers.

Well, first time for everything...

At about 0:45, you can see the online pass for the multiplayer, and it is said without the pass you won't be able to access the (full?) multiplayer, so the logical conclusion is that poeple who buy used have to pay to unlock the (full?) multiplayer.

Also, let's cut the offensive language.

Ah, it must've been free then. I'm right in thinking it wasn't in the game on launch though? Pretty sure its Space Marine.

Besides, the only company I know that charges for MP is EA, and they only do that if the game isn't new, so I don't see what point you were making.
