Wrong again, nice try.  You provide the quote yet the point I made, which invalidates your point, is what the word "that" is referencing.  Chris' "that" was referencing the Prothean squad member, not the text.  Basic English.

The prothean squadmate was not removed, the text was, ergo I am correct, you are incorrect. Try again.

LOL.  That is how it turned out, yes.  So how could it be???  Chris said the Prothean squad mate was removed yet it turns out there actually is one?  HOW COULD THAT BE????  Two options, I am sure you will choose whichever one makes you feel less foolish for having put so much investment in defending all this.

1) It was originally scheduled, then they decided to cut it, then "no wait let's slam to get it back in!!!!!  Whew glad we made it!!!"
2) Chris was doing his job as PR guy and leak damage control guy which occassionally involves either lying or obfuscating the truth.

Your constant and stretched defense of this is making you look foolish.

What a peach you are, twisting everyone's words and ignoring all evidence to cling to your argument.

He was preplanned.  Gamestop or whoever leaked out the Prothean's inclusion in the CE.  BioWare marketing and PR remove the text, as they weren't prepared to make an announcemet, as they had nothing to show at the time out side of concept art from preproduction.

And again, none of the work had been done on "From Ashes" at that point.  VO sessions hadn't even begun outside of Meer and Hale.

Now, who is the fool again?  Those who actually know what they are talking about?  Or the squishy human who can't keep their drama restricted to  Bravo TV?

Again, confusing "plot" and "lore" with the experience of obtaining that information.  Why don't you go back and play ME2 except have someone else handle all the parts with Legion, then call you on the phone and give you a recap.  In that situation you're still getting all the plot and lore information right?  But somehow I think you'd argue that would detract from your gaming experience.

Exactly, we all know this content is out there, so denying it on day 1 is just bad.  The expirence of the game is being diluted and tainted.

But not by much, and its not like you cant do anything about it

I am foolish for backing up what I say with evidence, yet you are not foolish by providing baseless speculation without it?

I see. Interesting. I'll just continue conversing with anyone that actually has anything worthwhile to say then.

Aside from solving the Unified Theory about 50 pages back, there's nothing to report.

LoL
Legion? Compared to the Prothean?

Lol Really?

The Geth/Quarian conflict plays a role in the Reaper war. Legion was needed in ME2,to help make this happen in ME3.

Prothean is for the fans who are interested in it. It does not effect the Reaper war,it enhances ME3. (ME2-3 Story)

Take away Legion,Garrus,Tali etc,is a failed argument. Really.

Just like you must feel foolish for having put so much investment in attacking all of this.

The ppl attacking have something to gain whether it be in a change in the release content of ME3 or in terms of how dlc is handled in the future.

Those defending gain nothing and are fanatically defending something which, if truely justifiable, will not need their righteous support.  Bioware/EA are big companies that are very finacially secure.  They do not need your charity purchase or vocal support.  Simply buying their product will be enough.  They are the big boys of the industry.

I agree the debate wouldn't be happening. But that's because people who think like you are being irrational. If getting From Ashes in a month rather than on day 1 makes you happy, you can get it in a month. Or will you only be happier if no one else can get it before you want it?

As for the next DLC, we'd all be better off if it was available on day 1 too, just as we'd all be better off if ME3 was on sale today rather than some days from now. All other things being equal, having something earlier is better than having it later.

The thing is that most people don't view this day-one DLC as an addon to the game but as a cut-off of the main game. And who could blame them? For all we know this character could have been completed months ago (yes, I know what Bioware said about that). Like me, many feel that content that is being available at launch should be included in the game and not be treated as an addon.

Of course he could have been completed months ago. Bio can allocate resources any way they like.

I just don't understand how you can say that you'd be happier if Bio finished From Ashes and then deliberately held it back rather than release it on day 1. You're worse off; you're getting the content later.

Is your fantasy that buying a game entitles you to all the content the company has ready on day 1 really that important to you? So important that you'd rather that the company lie to you about what's ready and what isn't?

No ones stated that there doing the defending for charities sake,  but at the same time you cant expect people to sit idly by while you smear a good companies name with falsities and demanding entitlement benefits for "Emotional" investment.

How much is a judgment call, but we can do something.  We need to make sure this kind of crap does not become common practice from bioware or form the industry as a whole.  The message is getting out there.  TB has over 600k views and 26.5k likes.  There was an article in PC world.  Redit has even more then ppl involved than TB.  Hell, there was an article in forbes.  This is for the good of the consumers and need to be held up as unaccptable to bioware/ea and others.

Sure. I'm not in this because I think Bio needs me or anything. I just find this sort of debate fun.

Again - and I swear I've made this point before, possibly specifically to you - it isn't about the PLOT.  It's about EXPERIENCING the game.  You could have learned about the Heretics from Tali, that way it's covered in the plot.  But something tells me you'd rather hear it from Legion.

im just going to blatently steal this from arkkangel as he says it better than I could.

ArkkAngel007 wrote...

You've been told and demonstrated to that you get all the lore info
in the actual game.  The DLC, specifically Javrik, expresses it in just a
different way.

You find it essential because you feel it is.
Not because it actually is.  That is why I'm starkly against that
argument, because it's based on personal feelings and assumptions, not
facts.

I'm glad myself and all the other people upset have agreed that ArkkAngel should be the one who is judge and jury of what we feel is "essential"!

It's pretty clear here what one of the issues is.  You've got some people, probably PS3 players, who don't think having the option of having a Prothean squaddie, already designed and ready to go, is important to achieving maximum enjoyment of ME3.  Then you've got others who do believe having a squad member from the most enigmatic race in the game, and the mission with him, is important to them fully experiencing the game.  For anyone to claim they are a huge fan of the mass effect lore yet missing out on important storytime with a Prothean, is laughable.

the only thing the people who are throwing a temper tantrum like you are proving is that we can never have nice things, and that bioware shouldnt try to do somthing special for their long time fans ever again.

Also the squadmate was slated for the CE,not the SE.
Any SE owner who wants this fan based DLC,should have to pay for it. Just as the CE owner has.

Access to mutliplayer should be free anyway, shouldn't it? So this time around we have to pay for what we got for free before. Sorry if I'm not impressed EA.
