Yeah, you have Best Buy overselling their stock of pre-orders...
You have Gamestop selling pre--orders but then still claiming first come first serve - so if you don't get there soon enough, they may decide to sell it from under you anyway...

Then there is Amazon, they seem to be the only responsible one who not only keeps track of their allotment, but they make sure they let you know if they can get it to you on release day!

Amazon has never let me down on a pre-oder.  I got my ME2 CE from them, and have had my ME3 CE reserved since July.  B)

Yes, I believe that is something that everyone can agree on.  We've also pretty much come to the consensus that choosing a Prothean to be the DLC wasn't the smartest move either.

Better idea: it should ahve been a four armed, three breasted love interest for both genders shep.  See, better idea in three min that would have gernated plenty of publicy of a positive sort.

I ordered my Collector's Edition in June (6/7/2011) so I have confidence it won't get cancelled by GameStop.

LOL don't say that outloud, I've seen them cancel the pre-orders for entire stores reguardless of date.

Seriously, I've had Gamestop screw me a couple of times on pre-orders.  They turned me into an Amazon man.

Yeah the same thing happened to a friend of mine with the Gamestop I used to go to, long story short... They tried to tell him he didn't pre-order a game when he had evidence that he had been in every couple weeks prior to put money down on it. It made me shy away from that Gamestop and rely more on one that had been around for a lot longer along with Amazon.

Also, sorry for being off-topic folks, just was lurking and have no real view one way or the other on this whole thing.

Everything is a cash grab.  That's how the industry works. It's just a matter of deciding at what point the cash grabs go form being legitimate to exploitative.  We the consumers make that call w/ our wallets.

No worries... your no view one way or the other is actually the same feeling most casual fans have about this as well.

Not saying you are either a casual fan or hard core fan... was just stating is all.. lol

I think we agreed that it isn't cut content, I still think is a cash grab.

A cash grab on a game that is so high on the great value chart, even AFTER that so called cash grab...

Sorry, can't sell me on Bioware being greedy when there is clearly so much more time/thought/effort/depth to their product vs the other crap that's out there.

So the prothean is important or not? make your mind people.

Of course, it's a business.  But, I don't subscribe to the theory that Bioware sits around the table dreaming up new and nefarious ways to screw their customers like some others do.

I did order it online with Release date shipping. That is the only reason I'm confident.

And Best Buy doesn't just over sell Pre-orders. This past Christmas Season I ordered a Wii game for my cousin who is around 12 years old. Some educational game. Two days before Christmas it still wasn't at my house and I got an email saying I wouldn't be getting it. I had to explain to my cousin (who still believes in Santa Claus) that Santa ran out of the games. I felt bad.

My Aunt bought him a chair to go with his father's chair so he can sit and watch football with his papa. Best Buy said "sorry we're all out" so she cancelled her order and bought from somewhere else.

Because Shepard is Back in Black, Running Free, and will bring Lightening to the Nations to strike down the Metal Gods.

Because she's got The Jack and an Ace of Spades.

So, no, Don't Fear the Reaper because they're going to be Dazed and COnfused when High Voltage passes through British Steel.

The Prothean will probably be one of the better dlc's ever offered - like LotSB - which IMO makes it an incredible value at $10 for the amount of time you will get out of it... add in the incredible value that each game in the ME series has been - which ME3 will likely also be...

That's why I think Bioware isn't doing anything wrong to begin with.  They were pretty straight forward about the content being part of the CE and was expected - if not release day... extremely shortly after.

I for one am thrilled it's going to be ready on release day!

He'll yell "Domo Arigoto" to Legion while Living on a Prayer, carrying some Drops of Jupiter and thinking he can be a Prince of the Universe, singing, "Don't Stop Me Now" because, let's face it, it's been A Hard Day's Night.

I agree on all points, but I still think it's a little sneaky of Bioware to make it a Prothean.  Brilliant marketing move, crappy fan service.

No offense taken in it, I kind of like to think of myself as somewhere inbetween the two.

As for my non-view of this, it mostly comes from my seeing both sides of the argument and not fully agreeing with one side or the other. I don't really begrudge Bioware or EA for doing this even if I personally don't like. Nor do I feel that I, having bought the CE entitles me to feeling like I have superiority over those whom will have to shell out the money to buy this content (where it it sticks to it's current price point or not is irrelivent in my stance on this). Heck, there are plenty of games I beat that did have DLC that I never bought because it didn't appeal to me like AC II.

Because we all know Shep is a Superbeast who will make them feel the Strong Arm of the Law, but while The Mob Rules, she'll  Reach Out to her True Companion (Liara) by Taking a Ride on some Heavy Metal and Leave You Far Behind.

So, you still on the Third Stone from the Sun, becasue War is about to leave you Swamped with the Subterrainian Homesick Blues, you had better pray to that Spirit in the Sky.
