Okay, a probably stupid question: The Prothean Squadmate DLC costs 10 dollars to download, right? How much is that in Bioware Points, assuming we'll have the option of buying him with Bioware Points?
What kinda witchcraft is this? Bioware points? they have those?

So to make an example, if George Lucas had made the scenes with Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy exclusive to the people who had already paid for first-class tickets (let's say such a thing could exist) or an additional $10. Would that be okay, simply based on the arguement that there would still be plenty of the high-quality movie left?
There would still be a major piece of the puzzle missing.
I'll play.
Does the edition of the film without Boba Fett still work? Actually, it seems pretty easy to cut him. He's easy enough to erase from ESB; you can just show the Imperials tracking the Falcon, etc. Tatooine is a little harder, since you need a really different edit of the fight scene before the Sarlacc eats Fett. But it's not all that hard,
Edit: wow -- I'm a bit behind the times. I see Spherexius already made the same point.
And yeah, I did gloss over the essential point -- there has to be some reason for Solo to be shipped off to Jabba. So in the alternate version Vader takes a bribe? It isn't any more irrational than letting Fett have Solo for free.

So, I'm guessing, based on the past content that was $9.99, 800 BW points.
Edit: Beaten to it. Nevermind.

Ah, same as Lair of the Shadow Broker, then? Well, thanks
Not what I'd hoped for though, but... I'll settle for that, I guess...

Ah, Assassin's Creed II. The DLC for that game was far more critical to the story than the Prothean is likely to be. In fact it contained exposition that explained what Ezio was doing for the period between sequence 11 and sequence 14.
Which is why I didn't support it. I'm willing to give this DLC a chance and if it ends up giving me the same vibe as AC II's DLC did then I won't purchase anymore DLC and possibly games from Bioware and that'll be the end of that.
But that's just how I see it for me, to each their own, you know?
Precisely. People point to Mass Effect 3 being incomplete out of the box, but Assassin's Creed II actually had a built in plot point where when you reach Sequence 12 it says "error!" and Rebecca says "It looks like this data is corrupted. better try another sequence." Ubisoft actually built in a reason for it to be missing. The game was not complete out of the box because those two sequences, as I said, included plot enhancing exposition that included the Battle of Forli and the Bonfire of the Vanaties--two historical events. WIth Mass Effect 3, you won't suddenly jump forward 6 months if you don't get the Prothean. the Story is complete.

Lol its like buying a 60,000 dollar car and to get the sun roof option you have to pay 10,000 dollars extra. And the whole time leading up to the sale the salesman and you were discussing how badass it would be to have a sunroof. Lol!

I keep hoping for EA's ownership of Bioware to end. Maybe we'll get lucky and tehy go bankrupt and the judge sells Bioware to Bethesda. I can dream, right?

That's how car sales work if you don't haggle? My mom got a new Mercedes a few years back. I think she ended up paying $30,000 for a $40,000 vehicle. But even then, the analogy falls because a sunroof is an optional luxury item. Hell, a $60,000 car is edging towards a luxury item.

How is the DLC not an optional luxury item. I mean the sunroof i mentioned is still a 1/6 of the price of the game.

I'm sorry, what? I don't understand what you're saying. Are you mad because the DLC is 1/6 of the game, or because you don't get a sunroof with the game, or what?

There's a game that I heard of, once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where EA is far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow, space hamsters fly
Boo flies over the rainbow, why then, oh why can't I?
