Actually when boycotting the game they are not making a stand on the DLC business practice (well they might be but it will not have even 1% effect they are hoping for). Because many people do not buy a product because of many elements, they do not record cancellations either. The pre-order cancelled meme has no effect as it is not a recorded statistic in the end. What is recorded is actual sales, of product and sales of DLC.
They can skip the game if feel the game is bad but the only way they will effect practice of DLC is if they BUY the game and do not buy the DLC as opposed to not buying the game which is not recorded as a lost sale in first place. When it comes to tallying numbers they will lok at how many bought the game and how many bought the DLC.
I might point out a flaw in this: the reason is becoming surprisingly well known (It's even in Forbes now) So, my view on it is that I have a spare $80 that I can not only not be spending at EA, but can be spending at thier competition. AND I am making a point about my disapproval of various EA buisness practices.

You honestly think their games are not worth the price you pay for them? Seriously? Yet people pay the same price for a crap game like Duke Nukem forever, and you think Bioware is the problem in the gaming industry?nitefyre410 wrote...

DO NOT DIS DUKE.
And, not, the problem is EA's buisness practices, in this case, as far as the industry at large, it's the fact that the companies are no longer run by anyone who gives a **** about games.

If you do not understand what I mean by what I said thats fair enough where business decides what actions to take are based on sales of particular revenues game sales vs DLC sales will be treated seporatley by them we both should know this. Lets not kid ourselves here, ME3 has broken all previous Bioware pre-order numbers for worldwide product release so far of their titles. But you could do with less of a cheesy catchphrase because the only thing reminded me of is your wishing to be he-man.

I blame 3d realms. But, on the up side, I did not have to pay $60, I had pre ordered from Gamestop in 1998 for $40, 1/2 of which was store credit.
The Gamestop employees had laughed at me once, but then it came out, and they had to eat cost difference! AND THEN *I* LAUGHED.

and just like Duke Nukem I won't buy them... you seem to think that just Because Bioware makes and its good we so how obligated to pay for it. no matter how we feel they do buisness.
. Big whopp they make triple A quality games.. . NICE.. THAT IS THERE JOB. The job is to make the high quality title.
Where they are dropping the ball is customer relations . which is just as Important if not more because you know anything about customer service you can offer the same product and the same price. If you customer feels like they are being slighted or mistreated... They will go some place else even if its slight more expensive.
I don't like the way Bioware handled and distrubted this DLC ... so therefore I will not buy the product new out the box any more.

*silly picture snipped*
Actually never saw that before, the time I remember someone screaming it was a property owner who thought his house was haunted.
He was holding a burning brand and screaming 'I'm alive and *I* have the power and I will burn this mother****ing house down and you will have no place to haunt!'
The point was that buisnesses change thier minds if and when enough of thier customers start heading elsehwere due to bad decisions. And, sure, it's broken all sorts of records for Bioware, but it still only reached half the goal EA set for it.

You say they dropped the ball on customer relations, I say most of the customers haven't even noticed! It's only the select hard core fans that pay attention to forums like this that even noticed. If they did notice, it was due to one of the few blogs/articles about it... but all that achieved was getting the publicity for the game out there. The casual fan has already proven year after year, that day 1 dlc is acceptable. If they were going to rail against this, it would have happened in 2009... not now.
If you don't want to get incredible value for your entertainment dollar, that is your choice... as that is what you are getting when you buy a ME game!
Either way... I DGAF.... as my signature obviously points out... lol
