I agree, I'm subscribed to TB and usually agree with him, but his time i think he put the video out without knowing the true facts and made assumptions based on nothing.

This.  The guy has the right motivation, but this was done as a knee jerk reaction without all the information, so all he had were past actions for him to address, followed by assumptions based on his emotional and personal view of the situation.

That and I still disagree with boycotting the entire game...just the DLC.  But then again, I know not everyone feels that's enough.

Couple of thoughts which are complete speculation (which seems to be what people do in this topic)

• The DLC might actually be awful. It may not even be worth getting even if it were free. SE owners who buy the thing for $10 rage on the 6th because of just how awful it is.
  
• The DLC is just blatent fanservice. If included with the game it would just confuse people who are not as familiar with the lore as people like us. Having it included in the game actually detracts froms some people experience

The point of mentioning that is to remind people that there is no guarentee that this DLC is actually something everyone/anyone will want. If people are making an assumption that the game can not be complete without the DLC, then I counter with having and playing the DLC might make the game worse.

From everything I've read from the most recent script and other leaks the Prothean sounds like a really interesting character, but your mileage may vary on that. It is my opinion that the DLC will enrich the game experience, and especially the lore pertaining to the Protheans, but again with the mileage.

It's one thing to question Bioware's business approach... which is debatable for sure... I think there's nothing wrong in their approach, but that is more tied to the value of the end product.  It's a tremendous value compared to the rest of the market in what that same $60 will get you.  Not only in the gaming industry, but in the entertainment industry across the board!

The VALUE of a ME game has been virtually second to none!  Even if you don't think it's at the top, it is NEAR the top.

I support companies that can bring that much quality to a product.

Amen. Those of us who ordered the Collector's Edition paid good money for the "bonus character and side missions." Everyone who knew about the CE knew that was in there, and even that it was most likely a Prothean because of the minor leaks. Why complain now when we've known this for a while? I would be more upset if I had ordered the SE and had to wait a month for such an interesting character. At least they're offering it to people right off the bat so if they want it they don't have to wait for it.

This is why I've been saying, when you are in a position of popularity you have to choose your words carefully, a lot of people will take "vital" as meaning the game is incomplete, now unless TB has played the game fully, it's not a statement he should have made.

Point of fact, I had this opinion before he did (ask DL).  And, for those of you stating he's wrong and he's got bad information... that remains to be seen.


The reason that I particularly stay is simple.  You guys with the DGAF banners ****** me off.  Why?  Because you are the worst in western cutlure.  People like you, who sit around spouting that trying is the first step on the road to failure.  That as long as I get what I want, everyone else can burn in hell.  You know, that **** NPCS of life.  The whiny guy who claimes he'd be a hero but he took an arrow to the knee. 

You all want to drag everyone else down to your level of apathy and worthlessness.

Boycotting is going to far  - yes 

The whole Origin issues that people are having  this just compounded and how its needed to play ME 3 when they don't really want  it, then add how this whole  Character was handled.  On top of old lingering doubts left buy how people about Dragon Age 2.  Plus Bioware here latetly has been disavowing and then confirming left and right... you don't what to believe or not and you have a powder keg waiting  to go.   This has been building for while  now... the signs have been there... kind like tremors before a major earthquake.

The DLC  was just the match to set it off.
