So anyone other then me excited about the Pro.? Important or not I'm just looking forward to meeting him.

I'm guessing there are quite a few of them. People who didn't care about the DLC character wouldn't be making such a fuss.

While the mission is to Eden Prime, I'm not expecting it to be a major deal, I suspect it's a nostalgic trip calling out to ME1.

Maybe we find him somewhere else (Mars would make more sense) but have to go to Eden Prime for whatever reason.

Eden Prime would have been prothean-inhabitable too, since apparently protheans liked the same environments humans do. Maybe Prothy comes from Eden Prime.

Stasis Pods. If you remember from ME1.

There were only a handful of Protheans left, Vigil said "Prothean species was doomed. There were only a dozen indiviuals left far too few to sustain a population". Frankly this sounds stupid to me.

Eden Prime does have prothean ruins/artifacts. It might be possible some of them were left for him and humans just stumbled across them.

^ thats a good point and I mean a geth attack + hunting down lingering grps + rebuild would explane why it took so long to find him.

It would make me wonder why he wasn't found earlier, what with it being one of the first planets colonized by the humans, 31 years before ME1.

maybe they built a hab center on top of him not knowing it was down there but didnt rebuild it after the attack and found the ruins and started picking through them. then BOOM!

I'm fairly sure the artifact from the first game was only found just prior to the events in ME1.
And as RDSFirebane pointed out the ramifications of the geth attack searching for more prothean ruins would probably be delayed.

if javik was in a stasis pod, there were probably a lot more stasis pods besides him (more probable than just 1 stasis pod anyway) and most likely a VI like Virgil was monitoring those as well. if javik was the only survivor in the stasis pods it's highly probable the VI deemed javik to be the most important personnel of the bunch and sacrificed the others in order to maintain javik alive for 50000 years.

Yeah it was that's true. I guess 31 years isn't really that long when it comes to exploring an entire planet.

If companies want to make extra money making extra content for a game that is already done thats okay with me. I think they have realized that people will be pissed off if they make a game that feels incomplete. However I should note that I do not believe designing a game to be able to incorporate DLC into the campaign is not making an incomplete game.  Thats being smart because I hate DLC that feels like it has nothing to do with the game or feels like an afterthought.  Throwing in a squad mate from a species that is thought to be extinct is a major bonus to long time fans.  Longtime fans will want this and if it was exclusive to the collectors edition they would be sad, annoyed, and/or pissed.  I bought the collectors edition which I normally never do because I thought that the level of content they were thowing was worth it.  People who are not long time fans could probably really care less if they had a prothean squad mate. They probably are only interested in shooting stuff and could care less what they are shooting.

Glad to see that this thread calmed down a little bit. I ACTUALLY see discussions talking about the content of the DLC itself...

I guess the discussion calmed down a bit because people either accepted the day one DLC or cancelled their pre-order and gave up on BioWare like me.
