Guys please. If you don't want this thread locked, get back on topic, so we all can forget about the fenomenal lack of tact displayed a few pages ago.

Agreed here.

Oh I have, but I take a minute to be open minded about it and think about how things really arent that bad compared to other things happening in the world, and I feel better because of it.

Still. 10 dollar DLC? thats less than...3 single issue comics. Thats like 2 lunch breaks. Thats two 5 dollar foot longs.

This thread is full of the intricacies of this whole bioware debacle, but we have gotten to the point where we are posting pictures of crap on a videogame case...and people are actually justifiying it. If that doesnt say which side of the argument is crazier than the other, than I dont know what does.

That's just trying to rationalise it.

As I'm (now fed up) of saying he's giving form to the things gamers have been saying for years.

Ok would someone please be kind enough to tell me how much 600MB's is worth memory wise? :) thank you.

Back on topic....

What insight do you think Prothy will give us about the Reapers? Where do you think we'll find him on Eden Prime?

As I understand it, since DLC is purely digital you need 600MB of free space to download it. A disc only takes up a little bit because the data is stored on the disk, but digital content is a different story. Looks like that 600MB isn't gonna fit on a device with only 6 MB of memory left...maybe try a flash drive?

I still think the concern over the DLC is ridiculous, first and third world problems aside.

Gotham City Imposters had 200 dollars worth of aesthetic day 1 DLC that you could unlock in-game, and I STILL think that is more outrageous than this. Now I know Prothy isnt purely aesthetic, but the DLC is only for singleplayer and provides no advantage over other human players in online. Its purely optional, just like GCI's. Nobody is getting an unfair advantage over anybody else. WHY are we complaining about this? Just buy the DLC later on when its on sale or something for christs sake.

What platform are you on? Is there any way you can transfer your saves?

I haven't done any research into the Cloud Save feature on the 360, but you might want to look into it if you haven't already. Otherwise I'd say transfer your critical save files to a USB drive (the ones you're gonna play first) so you can have some wiggle room.

Buy a $5 USB memory stick and transfer saves from your hard drive onto the stick. And anything else you want to keep but don't *need* on your HDD

well there's the thing, in that one as you said they can be unlocked by playing the game which is to me a far better method than locking things outright out.
if the prothean DLC was also an unlockable chapter after the first playthrough per copy
(so it wouldn't get abused by used copies)  showing it's unlock code after the game's completion, it would be a way to incentivize the player for another playthrough and CE players would have it's early access from the start.

right, but in a singleplayer game, it doesnt matter O.o Aesthetic material in a multiplayer game is practically equal in importance to any unessential story DLC in a singleplayer game.

Shift, bail, bail! He's going to go on about Protheans, and therefore Javis, being vital to the story!

but you can still unlock those by just playing the game, "unlocked in-game" isn't that what you meant?

you are correct. And I wasnt exactly comparing the two. I was just saying that the GCI DLC makes me more angry than this.

indeed lol and you know what? What if there was Day 1 DLC about a really cool human character? "Pfft. Thats DLC that doesnt really matter. Who cares about that."

but wait..Commander Shepard is the most important character in the game. AND HE IS A HUMAN. Thus this human DLC must be essential to the story! *CANCELS PRE-ORDER*

Edit: Oops. I thought that this post would sinc with my last post. Sorry for the double post.

Are Protheans vital to ME3? Yes, but they were scientists and engineers. Javis isn't either. He's just a grunt.

But can't you unlock it in the game as well? Isn't that the same business model that TF2 uses?

Team Fortress 2's business model can be summed up as:

"The money pool is one dollar  bill thinner? BETTER MAKE MORE HATS"

actually skins for multiplayer games are pretty important, it's one of the reasons why the skins in league of legends sell so well, everyone likes to pimp out their character.
and actually if you can unlock them all just by playing the game all the better.
if the prothean DLC code (per copy so as to not appear in an used copy playthrough) was a reward for clearing the playthrough on insanity or something it would be awesome

It's like LOTRO, you can buy stuff but you also get points for completing goals which you can also spend in the store.

But they don't really do anything. It's like the difference between Armani and and off the peg.

The DLC for ME3 actually does something.
