considering they just added three studios in the past two years, are now working on Command and Conquer Geneals 2, and have become one of the fasting growing and critically acclaimed game studios under EA, I find it very hard to take that seriously.

And hell, Mass Effect and Dragion Age have generated a combined total of around $10 Million dollars to the company, and in EA's pockets. Thats triple the amount we see from Pandemic, which got dissolved, and double the amount from Visceral and DICE.

I do believe Chris meant the advert with "The Prothean" listed, not the game itself.

Its true though. The quote you put was about the description of the CE's contents, months and months ago. It was a mistake - it was meant to say 'additional character', not Prothean character'.

He never directly states that the Prothean is no longer in the game. He hints at it, perhaps to prevent it being spoiled or perhaps because they didn't know it would be ready in time (the release date had yet to be pushed back).

And I don't get how you think this quote from months and months ago backs up your statement that they have 'lied to us a lot lately'.

Just as that same research, you can see me3 is going to be amazing!

It's called being an informed consumer. I'll never defend the dragon age series...not Bioware's best work...but I will defend a great product for the value that is Mass Effect.

Sorry to burst your hyperbole bubble but you have no evidence at all suggesting that those in favor of this DLC are a small minority however switching sides there is larger evidence to suggest more people are buying ME3 than past two titles. You may be leaving the franchise and spending youre money elsewhere but quite honestly it appears with regards to ME3 more new fans are being created than lost.

After ME3 comes out is when we will see the numbers significantly shift, as the customers feel they should finish the ME trilogy. DA is a fail franchise now, you just wait until the next dog turd DA comes out and see how badly it does. Your fav developer are in steep decline. You will soon see the sale numbers dwindle AFTER ME3.

I might point out that Bioware has ceased expanding and many other studios in EA are activly laying off.  While this is not 'steep decline' it also does not bode well for EA or Bioware in the long run.  Further, we're likely to see layoffs at Bioware if the activision/EA suit goes badly for EA.  A half billion dollars is not a sum to be sneezed at.

Here's my issue with my fellow opposers.  Public refusal to acknowledge facts present, dismissing any additional information provided, using personal assumptions and emotional bearings as facts, calling anyone that either tries to make a correction to your argument or that disagrees with you a biodrone or sheep...that isn't selling our argument against this thing.

All we have really to go on is a) the situation was handled poorly, as is very apparent and past behavior of EA in relations to BioWare.  

The only present itemsd, outside of what BioWare and Microsoft provided, we have are the audio files and the script.  The audio files only indicate VO work was done during development like Kasumi and only SurKesh banter was included.  The script indicates he isn't in the main game, yet Merizan "hinted" that he is.  As such, while the majority of the evidence points that he was never in the game and isn't, we can't be 100% sure that he is or not.  We just know that the content in the DLC wouldn't have been in the main game.

This isn't a personal attack on anyone.  I know most are hoping for the best case scenerio with this situation, and just are trying to be realistic on the potential consequences.  I'm just saying that a lot of arguments on here need to have a change in tact and content if they want to sell their argument.  

Edit: Removed the quote.  Wasn't really replying to it, it just only inspired me to respond to the thread.

You say Bioware is lying. You provide no evidence of this beyond an old quote that you have misunderstood. And you feel that anyone disagreeing with you are the ones in denial?

This isn't even worth continuing. You believe bioware has lied to you, and despite not being able to back that up you still believe it.

Just a friendly heads up - in real life, if someone asks you for evidence of claims you make, you actually need to be able to back them up. Mistakenly saying people disagreeing with you are in denial is all fine and dandy on an internet forum, but it just won't cut it in real life.

Ok, I'm curious, how am I a hypocrite here?  I have not said that anyone should get anything free, only that greed blinded them to making a bad PR decision.  To generate good PR, they need to do something, giving it away might work, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

You just said "giving it away", that is greed. Giving it away means for free there is no other way to give it away.

Why should they give it away just because you want it? EA do not need a PR stunt to win over those who are boycotting because like mentioned the amount of preorders 'seems' to be vastly higher than previous titles.

For what negative effect this might have had on some they also had good PR from their launching space copies.

It goes both ways always. No company will ever have only good PR. The only thing that matters to business is whether they are getting an increase in sales or decrease. As it stands right now it is positive for them because it appears their numbers increased compared to previous titles as opposed to decrease.

You clearly have never met me. Ignorance appears to be bliss for some. I was one of the most critical of DA2 out of the enite BSN community at the time. Bioware are not my favorite developer, I do not play favorites and I am neither a hater or fanboy. I am a fan of products on individual basis not who makes them.

I haven't heard anything. I know there was a Tweet from Casey stating that Prothy has no impact on the game itself, but when it comes to the whole DLC "mess"? I haven't heard anything.

The thing with games is, you can have your cake and eat it too. If I wanted to boycott Bioware/EA practices I could simply buy the game used in a few days (or hell, even the day of sometimes). The publisher and the developers do not get my money, I get the game and maintain my position. It could be argued that it's a cop out to buy the game when I'm protesting, but it's not the game I have a problem with, it's the devs and publisher. They don't see any money from the sale and I get the game cheaper. This stance prevents me from buying the DLC, but I can live with that.
