Would all the superficial extras have been enough to justify my $20? Perhaps. However, when I saw the list of stuff that was a bonus for the CE, and the DLC was included, it made me say to mysef, "Woah! That's quite the bang for my buck there." It definitely heavily influenced my decision. You make that DLC that was promised to me as part of my CE available to everyone, and you remove my bang for my buck. While yes, I may have paid $20 for everything else anyway, you devalue the $20 I already spent by making it available to everyone. That make any sense?

its an close comparison but it still not  exactly the same.  Upgrading a car that has front wheel drive to all wheel drive is not as simple as downloading a code from  Toyota's website.    

essential if the car you bought that had front-wheel drive  the same exact car that had all wheel drive and they just took the back, flipped a switch and wham bam  its all -wheel. Then  yes you would  have a right to complain because the All-wheel was already they're in the car they just had blocked off and locked.

The thing that should be contested is the fact that this should be worth 560 Microsoft Points/7 Dollars like Kasumi. Not that they shouldn't charge for it. You were never promised a DLC with your standard edition, you're not entitled to it.

In a way, I think the Prothean character is a little bit of a waste. Why create a character that comes from an ancient and supposedly extinct race that was attacked by the Reapers, just to have him completely unimportant to the games plot?

Because the people complaining about it are hypocritical and have flawed arguments that they dont even attempt to correct and are so blinded by their sense of entitlement that they spout the same argument over and over and over with out any actual evidence or support to their claims.

Hmm so calling me an idiot and blind is going to drive your argument?

I'm not judging his place in the story, idiot (isn't nice, is it?).  I'm just saying that's the way it is in the game.  We didn't write it, and while I'm sure all of us could suggest dozens of different scenerios, it's too late to change it.  And trust me on this, BioWare has tried different things  with this character, and in the end, it didn't work out.

There is a reason why he is there.  Whether or not you will agree with it, I don't care, just as much as you don't care if I do or not.  It's completely irrelevent.  What is relevent is that he is in there, and that what he does is what he does.

But then again, my opinion is complete **** because I'm not jumping completely on the rage train apparently.

Anyone who doubts need only study the way EA has handled and destroyed The Sims franchise. When Maxis handled the franchise and produced TS2, the made quality games and quality expansions and stuff packs that for the most part ran pretty flawlessy with each other. The stuff packs were packed with new items to use in decorating and the game had real appeal. Then Maxis sold out to EA and The Sims 3 was made. It has enormous potential, but EA's version has expansions that are only tested with the base game, not the base and any other expansions meaning that each expansion adds more and more bugs into the system as it clashes with other EPs. The so-called patches often don't fix many of the existing issues but have been known to be used to introduce new features under the radar like in-game advertising for the EA store where over-priced items are hawked for EA points. These items are things that Maxis would formerly have put in a stuff pack, and while EA still sells stuff packs, you get less in them than you should for what you pay. What EA really wants if for you to spend in their store where you can easily wind up blowing way too money too quickly.

If you think that $10 dollars for a DLC is too much, consider this - they are selling a single baby swing item from the EA store for $5.  Yep, ONE. SINGLE. ITEM.

This is the future of gaming as far as EA is concerned. They're going to hit you up for as may microtransactions as possible, and it's only a matter of time before they find an extreme level of ridiculousness here too.

A member of a race thought extinct for 50k years, that has boggled scientists for hundreds of years, has had archeologists and scientists dedicating decades or centuries to undestand, is assumed to be the foundation for all spacefaring worlds, has a certain race worshipping as gods, has deployed monitoring stations in solarsystems such as earth, has left countless artifacts etc etc isnt pivotal to game lore. Gotcha.

We will just mention a member of such a race in passing and let him serve in a suicide mission instead of letting him undergo intense scientific research, massive questioning, and other trivial stuff.

Thats the logic... right?
