I went to Xbox.com and it looks like The From Ashes DLC was removed. Does anyone see the DLC on Xbox.com???
You can't currently purchase it anymore though.
Apparently if you live in the US you can pre-order the DLC from Gamestop, though why you would want to I have no idea.

Oh, that. I'm sure you will get that sort of stuff with From Ashes.
Legion's a very good example, since ME2 can be played just fine without reactivating him.
Well, if that kind of stuff is provided then they can't claim that From Ashes is something that doesn't matter in terms of story or lore, which was what the objection in question was about in the first place. ME2 can be played just fine without a lot of features, such as having a romance, using more than one weapon, several of the sidequests, etc - none of those are critical to completing the game, but that doesn't make it seem proper to leave romances, most weapons and side quests out of the retail game and put them in as day-0 DLC. Legion's talks about the geth is one such thing, and similarly enlightening talks about the protheans would be another.

You can't stop paying someone just because you can't find something for them to do. Unless you fire them.
If you have another view on the matter please do share.
I have to ask, Government or Union work?

Massively Deluded - Why everyone writing about the at launch Mass Effect 3 DLC is wrong.
He makes a wrong point about The Stone Prisoner and should have used Warden's Keep instead, otherwise it's an interesting 3 page read.
Good read, couple of interesting finds of "inside game industry" category for me, thx.
I agree that "Less screaming, more talking" would go a long way for the industry, but that's human nature. When people encounter something they don't like or fear, they get emotional, and not all will cool down before getting vocal.
But there is not enough "honest development" in triple A titles right now, mostly because of publishers, i guess.
I personally enjoy watching videos and reading info about development process, shame they are scarce and often go as bonus materials after release.
When you have little news about how development process is going, you feel more connected to the people doing the magic, that's where trust and honesty can really grow.
I can't really tell how that could be implemented for big titles though, compared to indie scene, with alpha testing and feedback from supporters, for ex. So I will appreciate any occasional link with info on how publisher/developer relationship really work.

You wouldn't complain if they had released it later? What I get is you are hating on company because you think a dlc may or may not have anything to do with the main game? I can understand if the former is true but if the latter is true you guys need to stop ****ing.
And you need to start thinking in a larger context.
Who are your favourite characters in ME2? Unless it's Miranda, Jacob and Mordin they are all optional. Does that mean the game is just as good without everyone else? Does that mean Biowere should have charged 10 bucks for each character? And what if it is just one, which one would you justify to be taken out and sold as extra, when all of them had been finished during the main game development?
Not knowing if the prothean is important for the main story (which he actually is from what I can tell) changes nothing!
You can't build up such a huge myth and make the prothean race such an integral aspect of the story and then present a living fossil as "whatever" and expect noone would rage about it.

The developer and its employees must spend time, effort, and resources to provide this additional content with almost no guarantee that they will make money from it. What's the incentive to produce more content down the line if nobody buys it? You don't have to agree with their business strategy, but by boycotting this DLC, the people that truly get robbed in the long run are we the gamers. Not robbed of money, mind you, but of more hours of epic narrative and superb character development. Throw your slippery slope fallacies away, people, and swallow that ridiculous false sense of entitlement. Enjoy the labor of both love and money that is Mass Effect 3, and be glad that we have the privilege (not the right) to experience the heart-racing finale of the greatest Sci-Fi trilogy in gaming history.
Employees are paid regardless of what they are doing.
But the rest of your post sounds like something from EA coroperate so no surprise there.
It's obvious you're not a business owner.

productive for the company. Heck it would be boring not to be doing something. As well as unethical.

But this is what the goverment is known for.It depends on how you define doing nothing , because all jobs have a time when you really aren't doing too much or things slow down due to less customers.
