Does anyone know how large this dlc will be(megabytes)?

650 MB +/-

Plus or minus what?  Also do you have a source.  I just pm chris this so maybe he will tell
me officially.  I just want to know how long it will take to download.

I don't remember the actual number, but it was around 650 MB when it was posted on Live.

I don't get it how You can pre-order a DLC??? Like the code or what? I understand if the DLC will be available on Mass Effect 3 DLC page on the day like 6/9 March for 800 BioWare points of on XBOX Live or PSN... But in a shop how? I just don't get it...

So Bioware is charging $10 for Day 1 DLC, that is free with the CE? People should be lucky that they are getting any DLC at all especially Day 1. Bioware could have easily not released it Day 1 and only keep it for the CE and people that have the CE are bragging about something that you wished you had. Now $80 is the price for the CE edition and $60 for the SE plus the DLC is $10 that is $70. $10 less than what the people who bought the CE paid for the game. Who is the ones going to pay more? Do any of you people hear the people that bought the CE complaining about the price? No, because that is what they wanted to pay for the game. Now if I didnt know any better I would think those people that got the SE that either didnt want to pay extra for the CE or couldnt find one is jealous of those that were about to get one because they get the free DLC. You want more to a game than you pay more. I wanted more to my game and so I pre-ordered the CE so I pay more and that is my choice. I dont feel like I am entitled to free stuff, yeah it is nice to get free stuff every once in awhile but I dont expect it every time. Companies need to make money also they cant give everything away for free they would not stay in business very long. My father owns his own carpet cleaning business and his rates are reasonable and he doesnt price gouge BUT if someone wants something extra done than he has to charge them extra because he has to take extra time to do it and use more resources to do the extras, yeah he throws in a few extras here and there to make the customer happy but not all the time, he would simply not stay in business if he were to always or very often throw in extras for free. Simply put, you want more you pay more. You want more toppings on your pizza or burger than you pay more. Beggers cant be choosers or in other words as my kids say, you get what you get and you dont throw a fit. I swear some people are just ungrateful people and expect everything to be free. EA and Bioware is not forcing anyone to buy the DLC. They arent blackmailing or threatening anyone to buy the DLC. It is optional.

It's just this thing Gamestop does.  And yes, it's pointless.

Not really pointless. Its for people that want to purchase just the DLC and not want to buy MS/PSN points or they dont have a credit card either.

Yeah, when I was younger I had a job that was required by state regulation, but the thing I was supposed to actually oversee is... well, uncommon since the late 1890's....

So what was it that you were supposed to do?

You can't build up such a huge myth and make the prothean race such an integral aspect of the story and then present a living fossil as "whatever" and expect noone would rage about it.

Who says they didn't expect some folks to rage about this? Bio's never minded having a few people rage at them. People raged when NWN1 had a dynamic duo instead of a full party, no companion inventory control, and crappy 3D instead of beautiful 2D. People raged when ME2 yanked inventory and driving around planets.  People raged about DAO borrowing aggro mechanics from WoW.

I imagine they expected a reaction like this from some folks. They just didn't think it mattered.

Were they right? Beats me. I don't think the data's in yet.

Oh, that. I'm sure you will get that sort of stuff with From Ashes.

Legion's a very good example, since ME2 can be played just fine without reactivating him.

Well, if that kind of stuff is provided then they can't claim that From Ashes is something that doesn't matter in terms of story or lore, which was what the objection in question was about in the first place.

Thing is, "doesn't matter in terms of story or lore" is kind of vague. Only a DLC that was utterly uninteresting could completely fail that test.

What's probably going to happen is that the important lore stuff -- the stuff Shepard actually needs to know -- is in the game proper, but you get a bunch of unimportant lore if you talk to Prothy.

I really want to know just how they're going to pull off a surviving Prothean after 50,000 years.

They would just whine about paying $80 for the CE when "all of that extra stuff should be free!"

I just feel like offering kudos to Bioware for this. If nothing else, I feel grateful that they managed this DLC in time for release day so we could have it as soon as we start playing. Nothing was quite as silly as recruiting Kasumi for the suicide mission when we've already finished the mission.
Thank you, Bioware!

I'm glad that they chose to cut out this guy instead of something that involves the story.

And when they considered to let him be exclusive to the CE at first, I really don't see why I should complain. People that didn't get the CE can get the better part of it for a cheaper price.

Not to mention that they were forced to put in some extra work to make it happen. You can't just take the files and click Save As --> DLC and then they're ready to go. It takes some time to make it a DLC and then they have to advertise it, which isn't free either. There's really nothing wrong with a company wanting to make a profit out of something like this.

You guys see this?  Someone ebay'ed their ME3 Space Edition.  Look how much it went for, although it was just a buy-it-now.

www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Funniest thing is, they're paying to get it way early and then the guy is going to lose "2-4" days with his shipping method.  Sure hope the buyer makes him pony up and overnight that!

i cant remember who said it but it does seem like this is a SQUADMATE and not a CHARACTER. it could be that with the dlc you get the opportunity to have him join you rather than his inclusion in the game entirely.

so if thats the case, then it would seem like an extra squadmate that only effects mission-specific dialogue
(i.e. zaeed and kasumi) WOULD be something to throw into a CE as a treat.

but ofcourse then the question would be justifying the price tag. so who knows

Even if this is a money grab. 10 bucks is nothing i'm sure most of you blow that at Starbucks everyday. 10 bucks for Coffee now that's a real rip off.
