God dammit stop posting Total Nutcase's video. We saw it a week ago, it currently has zero relevance.

why it has a Zero relevance? If i bought a normal edition for my Pc and I will be not able to play some of the DLC and I will lose some of the story out THAN THATS NOT OK WITH ME ! Why Nobody informed me about those changes  ?

Most of the crap he says is opinion. We went over his rantings about 300 pages ago. You're late to the party. Fact is, we're done with that.

So just tell me WILL I BE ABLE TO PLAY ON MY PC WITH MY PRE ORDERED NORMAL EDITION ME 3 , ALL THE DLC AND ALL THE STORY, If I will buy DLC as I did on ME 2 ( IT was also Normal Edition and I bought DLC later )

You will be able to play on PC, DLC and all. Just so happens that there is a piece of Day One DLC.

Whats Day one DLC ?

Eden Prime. One step to finding the conduit and a surviving prothean? Or is it just a return to where it began? Interesting.

I'll laugh my head off if it turns out that they were buried 5 feet under the ground where the beacon was.

I could just imaging Kaiden and Ashley just being annoyed by this thumping sound or ignoring it as Shepard is having the visions.  The poor Prothean would've probably been thinking about how much of an ass the many people that had stormed by that day hadn't noticed him.Posted Image

While Shep is beacon-ing, the Prothean walks up and taps Kaiden on the shoulder. Kaiden is too busy watching Shep's seizure, and just mumbles, "Not right now, the Commander is a bit busy, no autographs." The Prothean sadly turns and walks away.

Some.. most, probably, could argue for and against the actual content of the DLC (Prothean team member, which.. personally, I am looking forward to), but I find the easiest way to justify any kinda DLC is this short phrase.

"Want to enhance your game experience, want 'more', then 'pay' for more".

the dlc is not more or bonus or extras.

the dlc is cut content.

thats the bottom line, and as long as people keep saying its "extras" the more times we will see stuff chopped out and resold.

remember its not expansion, its chop shop marketing.

again i dont blame them, its what we all would do if we could.

I commented on that at the bottom of the post of mine that you quoted, in almost all other instances, it's fine, but like I said, cutting stuff out of the full game to later give it back to the public at an extra cost is "morally abhorrent".

I think somehow he got, "PCs won't even be able to run Mass Effect 3" from Total Nutcase. TN seems to be yelling a lot of things, wouldn't be surprised if that was one of them.

TB made the mistake of using the word "vital" in reference to the DLC, this got a lot of people thinking the game is incomplete without it, it was irresponsible of him.

Again no proof and also not morally wrong to sell extra content available in one product (CE) as advertised and allowing the sale of it for other products (SE).

Mmm, that's my bad. My comment about cutting/selling was more a general statement than specifically geared towards the 'From Ashes' DLC and whether or not it was cut. - Polite

However, I feel there may have been some confusion here. Not wrong at all to sell "extra content", which is what I meant when I said "want more than the full thing? sure, just pay a lil more" [iregardless of whether or not you have CE or SE]. The morality issue comes with selling content that was originally slated to come with the full thing. Again, more a general statement than strictly poised towards this ME3 DLC. Getting slightly off tangent I know but what's applicable here can apply to just about any other DLC on any other game too. - Polite x2

So you think a Prothean has no vital meaning to the Mass Effect story? Really?

Now here's the thing that bugs me. Bioware themselves have said that the DLC is one for the big fans. In other words, the people who have pre-ordered. So basically what Bioware is implying is: if you don't spend even more money on us, you're not a big fan! What a slap in our faces. A lot of us spent a lot of money on this series, buying every game and DLC that has come out, and Bioware shamelessly admits it's milking us.

That just goes too far.

And like others have said, this DLC was clearly meant to be in the game initially (it was announced early on, and from what I made up from the available information, most interaction with the Prothean squadmate is still in the game, it's just not a squadmate). If that doesn't scream "cut content" to you, what will?

*shrug* I'm not buying the DLC. And I'll spend a lot of thinking about whether or not to buy future DLC's.

Oh, that. I'm sure you will get that sort of stuff with From Ashes.

Legion's a very good example, since ME2 can be played just fine without reactivating him.

Well, if that kind of stuff is provided then they can't claim that From Ashes is something that doesn't matter in terms of story or lore, which was what the objection in question was about in the first place.

Thing is, "doesn't matter in terms of story or lore" is kind of vague. Only a DLC that was utterly uninteresting could completely fail that test.

What's probably going to happen is that the important lore stuff -- the stuff Shepard actually needs to know -- is in the game proper, but you get a bunch of unimportant lore if you talk to Prothy.

I'd say all the weapon/armour/alternate costume DLC for ME2 failed that test. Things like the robot dog in ME3, though it isn't DLC, will likely fail it too. And I don't see things as unimportant just because they aren't essential to the completion of the game. Comparing with ME2, what Shepard needs to know or do to follow the central story is relatively little. As stated, you could remove most of the missions and most of the conversations in the game and still complete it, though I think it would feel rather empty.

I think there's a mite big of difference between opinion and fact. I've seen leaked docs, the Prothean isn't vital to ME3 right now. 8 months ago, sure. Lore-wise, sure. But ME3-wise? Marginally.

We might make 500 yet!

And if Bioware did make it on disk DLC my ascention to daemon prince is assured!  LOL

He makes some very good and very interesting points... especially on the subject that if 'From Ashes' was really started and finished in a month is it really worth the $10 price.

For all of my displeasure about what EA and Bioware are doing though, I don't actually support his boycott simply because it wont work... it already hasn't. I think his mind and intentions are well and truly in the right place but it's doomed to fail. I only need to read the majority of the posts here to see that.

Personally, I hope that companies like EA and Activision take this kind of thing even further, to the point of being absolutely ridiculous. That's really the only way that everyone will start fighting back and Publishers will be forced to stop this nonsense.

I wholly agree. Not only didn't I buy any of those, I didn't even consider it. But nobody thinks From Ashes will be as worthless as those DLCs, do they? Even those of us who don't think the DLC is worth buying don't think it's going to be that bad.

And I don't see things as unimportant just because they aren't essential to the completion of the game. You keep telling me what doesn't count as "important, " not what does count as "important." Where are you drawing the line between "important" and merely "interesting"?

I agree with most of what he said , but I have a  issue with some of it.No one should be going around demonizing someone/me for stiill buying the game and not cancelling my pre-order(which he mentioned no one shouldn't be doing this). My other issue is he's still saying mis-information that the dlc was created and done within the span of a month(with all the testing theirs no way you could do this).Dlc  must be concepted/basic work ahead of time which is why it might have been in the leak or demo , but they said it has taken them from late January to now  completly finsh but work on the dlc itself happened further back in development.

Bottom line is most of what I heard I agreed with , but I still think the calling for a boycott/mis-information on the dlc process is mis-leading and inciting anger due to his viewers.I just think the individual has a right to decide not to buy  vs someone giving mis-information out to the public for them to riot(and not fully understanding the process).
