No need of the Reaper to put an end to humanity. We are able to do it ourself...

If they made it free, I think I would be entitled to get $10 back from my CE or more stuff instead

I hope the Totalbiscuit army will wake your greedy ass up Bioware/EA.

AND there it is. The real reason why people have their undies in a bunch. Because TB told you to.

I swear, that man causes more internet riots than 4chan and Anonymous combined.

FYI: If you really want to boycott EA, it'd probably be more effective if you boycott ALL EA products. It doesn't prove a point that you don't buy Mass Effect 3 and then go to your closest Gamestop and ask about a Madden 2014 preorder.

This was still a problem before TB said anything, he just worded it well.

Offering a  paid  DLC  to those where not able to get CE for what ever reason is  slap in the face to some  and outrageous  to others.  Especailly when  anyone with  amount sense can see that is already on the disc  when the came is sold... is reason to be upset.

You seem like a reasonable  fellow  but we're not going to see eye to eye on this but come march 6th when  we download "From the Ashes"  lets see how the big that file is.. proof will be there.

I'm get it because I'm  finish this series but this may very well be my last Bioware game... I'm think long and hard about it  when they release  games  in future.

It isn't already on the disk, though.

Why is everyone upset? Prothey brings nothing new to the game. What, do you expect him to show up with the perfect Reaper killing weapon? If it was perfect, why didn't they use it in the first place? Would he tell us some super awesome secret about the Reapers? We're going to kill them, who cares what kind of giant underpants they wear. Prothey is literally just a fan item. You don't need him. And if his Jamacian accent proves to be real, you won't want him in the first place. Get over this "I'm entitled to everything" syndrome and just be excited to see how your Shepard fares in the last chapter. Geez...

You obviously don´t care about the ME Story. And that´s totally okay with me.
What makes me really sad though is that it seems Bioware also doesn´t care about their story if they introduce a prothean that has no impact on this world whatsoever. The Hanar alone, who worship the protheans as gods, would be totally mind blown if there was actually a living prothean. It doesn´t matter if he has the perfect reaper killing weapon or if he is a totally unimportant douchebag.
He would still be extremely important to this universe.

I care about the story. You know who's story this is though? SHEPARD'S STORY.  If the Mass Effect story was about the Protheans, we would have started out as one. He is not important unless he has something useful to bring to the fight. So does he have a Super Mega Reaper Buster 9000 in his inventory? No. Does he know of a secret underground cache of Prothean tech that can disable a Reaper from two galaxies away? No. Does he have compatible sexual organs that your Shepard can work with before the final battle? Maybe, but I think that falls under "intercourse with a minor aged civilization" law that prevents Prothey from doing that. So unless Bioware told you that NOT having Prothey means you will not have the best ending, it has no impact on your game, my game or even my friend Jim from Long Island's game. If you want to say "Hey I got as Prothean" buy the CE or wait until ME3: GotY edition drops. Otherwise, get over it.

If you say this story is only about shepard, then you obviously don´t care about the story

Sorry, I have difficulty believing this considering the Prothean was in all script leaks and used to be pretty vital to the main plot at one point.

Probably something that was changed.

The problem is that publishers are shoehorning people into

A) Getting screwed by the corporations for being loyal fans.
B) Boycotting, and not being able to play the game, because of poor choices on the publishers part.
C) Pirating the game so they can play it, but reinforcing the publishers belief that they are dirty theievs, not legit customers.

C is not relevant because people have never needed an excuse to pirate, its been shown over and over that the vast majority of people who Pirate would pirate anyway regardless of their options.

That is not quite true and you know it.

Maybe, I don't pirate, that is for sure. I don't condone it either. But many people I know will pirate it because of this, not because they pirate everything.

Oh its definatly true that some people pirate in protest etc, but the vast majority of pirating is done by people who are just simply going to regardless.

I think some people are missing the point that certification takes a very long time. You can not make any changes to the game during certification. However if you want you to be doing something during certification you can make DLC.

So what happens is this
1) Content is designed for main game
2) Decided that some content can not be finished and still keep release date
3) Least important/most separable content is decided not to be finished for inclusion on the disc
4) The removed content is finished during the main products certification/manufacturing
5) Its released Day 1 as DLC

So it was in the game originally, but was not finished as it makes more business sense not too finish it before gold if then can finish it after gold.

Of course it could have been in the game but would have just delayed the game further. Sure the fans wouldn't have cared, but the people in charge of financials do. The game is already late.

Something else to consider (and what a shocker!): Most folks don't care, or have already come to a decision, and have decided simply to not say anything because there's no point.

We can always change things - the Deception thread is proof of that.

The problem is, the majority of the people in opposition of it aren't backing it up with solutions or anything of the sort.  Just a lot of hate speech and attacking anyone who has any sort of differing opinion.

Deception was changed because we all agreed on the faults of it and backed up our claims with both evidence and suggestions.

That is far from the case here.  Many of us who are "fanboys" and "idiots" agree that Day 1 DLC probably shouldn't be priced ($10 is really steep, I might add, for a single hour or two mission with a character and suits).  A lot of us also agree that the Prothean is important to the fans.  But everything else, mostly by those angry, are just being ***holes without actually contributing anything.  Yes, there are quite a few who have demonstrated their point very well and professionally, but there should be more doing so then those who seem to want nothing more than to fight.

The best solution would be to just return to the system that worked in Mass Effect 2, include the Day 1 DLC fro free with new copies, and have used buyers purchase an online pass.

But they're already using that system.

You don't understand? MULTIPLAYER.

This its on the disc as much as Kasumi was, as for the file size its already been leaked on live and available and the file was 600mb which means it clearly is not already all on the disc

He was in the first script, but not the second.  To be honest, the plot with him included was poorly done on paper that I'm glad that he was removed from that.

Should he have stayed in somehow?  Yes, but that is only my opinion. If he was though, then everyone would complain that it being so lame that a Prothean was brought into the plot, no matter how much sense it would have made.
