I knows BW should have totally done what CDPRed did with their day-one DLC! Release ME3 on PC then wait, like a year, and then release all the DLC on day-one. THEN they would have made as much money as CDPRed made last year on the Witcher 2.

Instead they have to cut DLC straight out of the game and let EA screw the consumer out of the things they need. Have you ever played Zelda?
ONE ENDING?!?!?1?
WTF IS THAT ****????Posted Image
It's an abortion I say! I NEED at least FIVE ENDINGS to call it a good game!

And if you think having to pay for companions is bad, just wait. In ME4 you'll have to pay for DLC that unlocks Sheperd as a playable characterPosted Image. One day you'll have to pay DLC to unlock the enemies in the game too. How glad will you be then? Huh Biodrone?

Of course you don't know anything about boycotts. It'll be easy I'll just buy the game used, or rent it, or NINJA it from the interwebz. When I'm done boycotting their game they'll pay me to play it.

I know right? It's all about the money man. As an intelligent consumer, it is my responsibility to support being shafted by the big succeful companies who are in the position to shaft me, while mocking the smaller companies for their business practice, which actually benefits me. Cause that's SMART.

And no, I didn't play Zelda, I don't get what people find in that game. Couldn't you use a nicer game such as an Elder Scrolls game or something? Let's assume you talked about an Elder Scrolls games (although Bethesda aren't pure saints or anything).

One ENDING for an elder scrolls game is ALL you are "entitled" for buddy, and Elder Scrolls fans make me sick with the way they felt "entitled" to get the Creation Kit for free, just because it was free for every previous game. It's obviously "extra", you don't need it to finish the game lol. I mean, do you know how many developers Bethesda had to fire in order to make the Creation Kit? You DON'T want to know. And to think that there are mods out there, made with the Creation Kit, by fans, FOR FREE, that have like 500 new pieces of armor. 500 new weapons. 500 new spells, quests, location. Can you IMAGINE how much money Bethesda could have made by selling you those things as DLC? Personally, Bethesda makes me sick, they don't give a damn about their own families... wait... never mind.

Also, it's not fair you guys get to use awesome derogatory titles such as "biodrone", what do I get to call you? "entitled brats"? Give me something.

(I figure I'm a "Biohater"--or something YES 497!)

Listen up you Biostooge. Companies aren't supposed to make money off their fans dammit!

If BW/EA isn't losing money on every copy of the game they sale and paying tribute to ME (the Realist of Fans Posted Image) then they're a disgrace to the video game industy. Elder Scrolls is a perfect example of how video game companies should hand Real Fans the tools to make free content for themselves, but were not talking about content I have to make.

As a Real Fan I'm not just entitled to the content I work hard to make. I'm entitled to all the content BW makes as well. Otherwise they'll be selling me an incomplete product. Why should I have to work hard with a "tool-kit" to complete their ****ty product? I PAID THEM SIXTY DOLLARS! That's more than enough money to make three different free DLC squad-mates. But BW doesn't care about me or my SIXTY DOLLARS, so fudge them!

I'm gonna give go give my money to a company that doesn't have the nerve to actually think they can make a profit off me. Posted Image Just thinking about anyone profitting off their fans makes me sick. They should be working for ME. I made them and I can destroy them.

(Thanks for playing along Jehovahkin, we at least got 1 page tonight, but we're too late now. I need sleep. Keep up the good work though Biostooge!Posted Image)

But that's the point, they ARE losing money with every full version of the game you biohaters seem to think yourselves entitled for. That's why they have to cut part of it (A COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY PART, MIND YOU), call it an extra and sell it to you seperatly, along with the game. As for paying you tribute, I heard they are planning on doing just that as soon as they are able to, a Bioware CM told me this on their official forums, so it must be true. He says to just keep buying their games and try not to voice any criticism until they sort it all out.

And I think you missed just how greedy Elder Scrolls fans are, sure, they have to make the content, but they didn't have to make the content-making content! More than 30,000 Bethesda developers have been laid off to produce the Creation Kit, after the damn game has shipped. And god know how many more will lose their jobs because Bethesda will be forced to make actual expansion packs instead of nickel-and-dime-ing their fans with content which they now allow the fans to create for themselves. You obviously don't understand the depth of depravity your common Elder Scroll fan exhibits. I hear Bethesda's next game is titled "Chapter 11" lolololol. Bioware should really stay away from that kind of business model if they know what's good for them. Fortunately, I'm willing to sell a kidney for a gun skin because I'm a TRUE Mass Effect fan and everyone who isn't just expects to get the whole game for free.

Feed their families?! WHAT families?! They had to sell their families into slavery to support the development of Zaaed. They had to sell their houses and live in the streets to support the development of Shale. Maybe you are confusing little ol' Bioware with world renowned development studios such as CD projekt which can obviously afford to have their developers work on extra content for loyal fans on day one (and on day 90). But Bioware? EA? Mass Effect? They will be lucky if they are going to make ends meet on Mass Effect 3.

You make me ill, my good sir, plain ill. Personally, I can't wait until Bioware starts charging for extra endings and for every single companion so maybe eventually they will be able to buy their families back. No need to thank me, it's what a loyal fan does. You don't NEED multiple endings, lets call them extras. You don't NEED any companions, Let's call them extras.

And of course your boycott isn't going to work. Because our community is strong and full of shills willing to help Bioware free their families. You see, we are being smart about this, we give up without even trying because missing out on a bloody video game isn't worth standing up for our principles. And it's much easier to assume that, well, there's no point in ME boycotting because it's only $60, right? I mean, sure, it worked for the Battlefield community, but they weren't fans enough, they obviously didn't care about Dice's family AT ALL.

Edit - I'm still in it for the 500th page... But I might have to go to work soon.

I'm still laughing my a** off :)) .Very good point and a valid opinion :))))

It seems Bioware have thought long and hard about the issue, and come up with a sensible solution!!!!

They think turning Mass Effect into an MMORPG is a "really interesting" idea!
Now we can subscribe and give them money regularly so they can feed their families all year round! We can get content at their whim, and pay £60 and a monthly fee of £15 to do some fetch quests and experience a hum-drum story with absolutely no pacing!
It's like enforced DLC, enforced by a painfully slow progression system! Woohooo!

Seriously suspect ME3 will be the last Bioware game I purchase (bargain bin), was certainly the only game series they've made that I can really say I enjoyed.

We all want to see it reach 500 pages, but let us not post spam, at least post SOMETHING about the topic, or it won't be an achievement.

For instance you could post "You are all just upset because you didn't order the CE in time, because you never cared about the extra merch, so now you must want the extra merch". 'Cause that old chestnut never gets old :P

If they give away that protean for free then they get a whole new storm of CE owners going mental about it (me included)

I see, so ppl who think it should be included have an over-inflated sense of entitlement, and people who think it shouldn't just want to feel special. It's all becoming clear!

I like the DLC:s that bioware releases soo i dont have a problem paying for them because its a small price for a few more fantastic minutes/hours of awsome gameplay.
The only thing I hate is all these "pre-order at this store and you get this op weapon that will break your game" ****. This time I pre-ordered at a store that did not offer a pre-order bonus, Instead they sell the game a bit cheaper and you have a chance to win a huge mass effect gun! :D

I guess this thread will end soon. so...

I says who cares if Bioware or EA puts a price on a DLC. It wasn't intended for the main game, hence why they put it in the CE. It's not going to effect your gameplay since it's only extra content.

also, in b4 lockdown, no?

Actually a large part of CE owners agree with us . Some ordered the CE for the cosmetic extras ( cd , magazine etc ) and not the DLC . They also think like us that there shouldn't be a day 1 DLC no matter what , and content that is done and rdy till the launch date should be in game and not prices extra .
I would also throw in there that there are more unhappy fans then CE owners but that is speculation :D .

PS: Gogo 500 ! :D

YES!, yes, people who are complaining on here about it do have a false sense of entitlement AND are misinformend.
They are afraid they are missing out on the Prothean lore, but that creature IS in the main game, just not as a squadmate, also how can anyone know HOW inportant it is for the lore without having played it.
People DO get a complete game, if Bioware did't even mention this extra DLC or released it 2 weeks after release no one would be ****in about it!

Bioware already announced that the DLC was made after the game gone gold ad was made by a diffirent team (wich by the way IS how DLC works most of the time).
People won;t believe them because this almost 500 page (yay!) long thread looks alot like mass hysteria and is blown WAY out of proportion.

I would be suprised if Bioware would change theyre stand about this DLC as that would mean screwing over the consumers who bought the CE.

There that should be enough pure ethanol on the fire!

For the answer to this question, see entire thread. Then find a way to identify others who care and yet don't come to this forum.

You can't possibly know that at this stage.
Nobody is claiming it will affect gameplay, we are worried it might be a significant omission from the story.

True, cause then the game would definitely have to stand on its own merit. It would have no other choice.

You are so right, how could I ever have suspected that a corporate PR machine would put spin on it and mislead us into thinking they weren't selling us the game in pieces. Especially in the face of so much tangible proof.

I'll pay for whatever DLC BW releases, but it just irks me that something as mysterious as the Protheans be revealed as a side thing rather than a main mission recruit.

What proof will that be? (sorry if its somewhere in this thread, its kinda long)

The way i see it the only way to know for sure how much you missed out is to wait for reactions/reviews when the game is out.

Does boggle the mind a bit doesn't it? Especially since they've been teasing it for 2 games now, with broken VI's, artistic statues, genetically modified Protheans etc.

---edit---
@DaUglyHamster
Not sure if you are serious, I was being a tad sarcastic.
But I am certainly going to wait for the reactions of people in the know as to how important it is, before I make up my mind. But that does mean no pre-order, if it's important BW can forget my full price purchase (I know like they care - though they kinda must or they wouldn't be advertising so hard), if it's poorly done rubbish, I'll just ignore it as trash DLC.
