Does any one know if EA/BioWare has said any more about the DLC or is it still the same thing they said last time?
Nothing officially. There only statement is the OP and Mike's post around page 100.

Nonsense. Big launch titles like ME don't pay for shelfspace, the game practically sells it's self by now and the retailer who doesn't want to put it on his shelf is an idiot. Second they have Origin. And third I don't know why you're telling me why they created the 0-day DLC concept and Project 10 Dollar but the long piece of text has absolutely nothing to add here.

Wrong again. Every game has to pay for shelfspace, otherwise the companies would be put to trial for violating trade and rights issues. Without paying them, Gamestop and other companies can sue if the games are sold in their stores without paying for the right to do it. As for GAME, I agree, it is a bad idea to not put it on the shelf.
Origin will only help in profits but will not make a dent as much as you think, because a vast majority of the games revenue will be through brick and mortar stores, with amazon and Origin selling it as well.
The only thing the piece of text added was evidence to the argument of why previous retail practices were likely not used on From Ashes. You know, evidence and things that need to be addressed.

They don't want to rile people up anymore by putting out a "Hey you guys...WANNA BUY THIS?" promo.

If you like to believe that... However I am a retailer and I haven't paid for it.

I will blindly buy the dlc as many others will so I can play the complete game. it’s just sad as a fan of the series that I’m not making this purchase out of excitement for the content but because I’m being forced to. I did order the CE with GameStop online so many months ago but when I went to pay off my pre-order today at the local shop they said I did not order the CE and there were no pre-orders available because it was sold out. The point of the last sentence is that I was aware of some kind of dlc but nothing that would change the game or how it affected my play thorough on day one.

Everytime they try to explain something and give their excuse, I get more confused over the situation:
CH: "We finished it too early. The team actually worked extra hard so that you would have the option of playing it in your first playthrough."
They finished early? But it was advertised as being a part of the Collector's Edition for months so wouldn't they need to have it ready to release at the same time as the game anyway?
The story keeps changing and contradicting other parts of their story.
There's nothing to be grateful about it, Prothy was never advertised as exclusive, it was meant to be available to everyone from the start, is just that BioWare never was forthcoming about it.NeecHMonkeY wrote...

Others would have everyone believe that you're lucky because Bioware has made the DLC available to everyone on the first day for an extra $10 and in a way, they are correct - it is good that this content is at least available to everyone.

It was advertised as being part of the collectors edition for over a year. That doesn't mean much though, it just means it was planned for a while. And hell, they probably began working on it right after the game was submitted into certification.
My guess is by "finishing it early" they mean it was done soon after the announcement of it, so id say like a week ago or something.
Could be totally wrong, but eh.

I'm looking at the quote and I'm seeing them saying that they finished far ahead of schedule. Yes, they'd need it done by release for the CE, but they finished it early enough that it could be processed and sold, at release, for those without CEs.
