Javik was an interesting character but I had an issue with his arrogance. Don't get me wrong I know he's a Prothean but geez can act more as a teammate than a jerk. I used him on several missions but that was it.

Not going to buy any DLC that has been removed from the game and repackaged to be sold along with the game at launch, It would only encourage developers to butcher their games and sell them at small fragments to milk their customers.

Vote with your wallets and let them understand that we will not stand for such bad business practices.

hey everybody can anyone give an opinion on which part of the game should the DLC be initiated?

w/o giving any spoilers if possible I just got the game so I'm still in the mars mission

Yeah this DLC was NOT worth 10 dollars. maybe 400 points but not 800. plus people found all of the audio files and what not on the disc so this is just highway robbery.

I personally unlocked him right before going to Thessia, as he has some great interaction with Liara there.  However, I am thinking that I should have unlocked him earlier, as I feel I didn't have time to "get to know" him.

Uh, this seems to be broken... there's no way to finish it. Is anyone else having trouble with it?My game keeps crashing just before I caqn finish it and my system is just fine about handling it so that's definitely NOT the issue.  Did anyone else have it break down on them right after a certain point?  If so, how do you fix it?  I already downloaded the alleged fixed files and they didn't do squat.  ~_~

Personally, I bought the Digital Download version and gor it for free and never did the mission up until recently and I'm beginning to really wish I hadn't.  It's the ONLY place in the ENTIRE game that's crashed on me and it's really irritating me.  I sure hope I can get this working.  I just finished the Mars mission myself but this is like my third trial run and I'm still having trouble.  ~_^   Just can't seem to find the right combonation I guess.  But From Ashes so far seems to be VERY buggy so if you can get to work for you at all, be warned, it may crash on you a couple of times before it works properly.  I'm not even sure it'll work 100% for me yet.

I don't get why people said it was bad. I just finished and thought it was fairly interesting. Somewhat short in playtime, but the story was fairly interesting IMO.

Any who called this a money grab... I apologize. It is just that. Extra content that slightly enchances your playthrough.
Is the Red & White Outfit for Ash a part of this dlc or was that part of the CE dlc?
If the Ash outfit is not part of it,Then it is sitting at a 2$ value IMO...

This was a bonus for the Collector's Edition (N7 Edition if I need to be politically correct). We are lucky that Bioware gave it to us right away instead of making us wait a few months. However, even if they did that, there still would've been complaints, so it's a situation where no one can win. Yet, I want to say thank you to Bioware for at least giving players (myself) this option.

Having played the DLC, I feel very strongly that this should have been integrated as part of the main game itself. Mostly because it revealed alot about the story & how nicely it ties in with the final chapter of the Reaper cycle.

Most DLC add extra content but they were mostly optional & didn't affect the lore / plot greatly.

Apparently it's bugged because you can get stuck with the quest but no way to complete it.

I did "vote" with my wallet, and purchased the Collector's Edition, which included the From Ashes DLC.

I don't understand how the timing of development is such a big issue. It's Bioware's content, they put in the work, they get to sell it however they want. While 800 MSP is a bit pricey for this DLC, in my opinion, I do believe that content costs money - from the writer's conception to the storyboards, art, voice acting/direction, and level design. Why so many people feel entitled to this stuff being available for free is unfathomable to me. You are able to play and complete the game without the DLC - I would encourage you to do so.

I can't believe they'd actually cut something like this out of the full game!

I bought the collectors edition so i got it for free, but i have to say: 800 bioware points for a half-hour mission and some additional dialogue scenes is incredibly overpriced imho. Hell, even 400 points would have been pushing it.

Haven't played From Ashes yet, but from what i heard: it's not worth 10$ and it should be in game from the beginning because story is so important.
Personally i think that DLC characters should be like Kasumi and Zaeed: very interesting persons with nice characters and story, but aren't essential to the main game story.
Also, Day 1 DLC? Is Activision an idol of EA/Bioware?

I also don't like DLC, they just show us that devs care less about fans and more about money (i understand that $$ are important, but hey... more happy fans=more talking about game=more fans=more $$). DLC is just like releasing non-completed game and paying for patches.



Won't buy From Ashes for current price, gonna pirate it :>
