Complete BS, but not a surprise that it is on the disk. Glad I was lucky enough to get Gamefly to send this to me before I bought it.

I kind of figured that this would be exposed. It will be interesting to see the reaction.

My sister wants to know if she can romance Jarik... x.x that seems to be her main concern regarding the DLC atm (laughs).

So you can play the mission as well then if you do this trick?

You only get the character as a companion.

His recruitment is missing and possibly his NPC dialogue outside of missions.

LOL mods are deleting the threads saying its hacks. Imho its people getting access to what they rightfully already paid for.

I am not surprised the mods are locking threads that show you how to unlock a DLC character.

Bioware pre-EA would not have pulled such a stunt IMHO.

Oh they will, its just that this is a sticky thread so they wont delete it, but they will start cleaning up "criticism" of their game and practices.

I'm confused as to why people are aggressively deleting the .ini unlock video. Is there an anti-modding clause in the ME3 EULA?

Ah right so the animations and dialogue that he'd make on missions as a squadmate are on the disc, so he's not quite as much of a peripheral character as Zaeed's was, for instance? Weren't people moaning about DLC squadmates being peripheral and having no real dialogue in game or on the Normandy in ME2, because their dialogue wouldn't integrated with the rest of the main game crew?..... This is an interesting juxtaposition is it not?

you realise the only reason they want you to post on this thread is so that it's hidden away here under hundreds of replies.. all nice and tidy

This. From what I have seen, only Javik is on the disk. His recruitment mission and the alternate outfits that come with the DLC are not on there. This fits perfectly with what Bioware has said on the subject, that From Ashes was not finished before the main game went gold. But really, Bioware should have just kept Javik as a Collector's Edition exclusive.

Chris Preslol seems to condone editing the ini file now as hacking, despite various groups hosted on this website existing soley for that purpose. For example, http://social.bioware.com/group/1579/.

They just take offence to it now because people figured out how to unlock the disc locked content. Something they'd rather rip us off for.

But what I want to know, is why did I pay for the same content twice, its a fair question, one that I and many others here would expect an answer to, rather than thread deletions in a feeble attempt to sweep it under the rug.

Oh yeah, and other things you can edit/modify from the files is totally fine and Bioware don't say anything except this, isn't that weird.

It's just ridiculous they said on interview it's separate content while it's on the disc.

Other people are reporting that only some audio files / dialogue are missing. Everything else is on disc.

Please show proof of this claim. Even that forbes article is saying that only the character is on the disk.

There is no hiding this. The cat is out of the bag and it will only snowball from here. Watch and enjoy as it unfolds.

That would be very strange, if true.

what I have seen in the video is laughably easy, it is barely something that can even be called "modding", text file editing is the very basic thing, the closest it reminds me of is how the Paradox strategy games can be modded as those basically have almost all data details in .txt files, especially because the reason to make it for the modding community simpler.

New Forbes article got it right. Buying ME3 should have been a fun thing to do, making me happy and giving EA/BioWare some money.

However, EA's rampant greed has ruined it. FU EA/BioWare, FU.

Yeah, .ini tweaks are (to my knowledge) considered okay by basically every company. I know for a fact that Tribes: Ascend (a multiplayer FPS) practically encourages it by having a stickied .ini topic on their forums.

If EAware wants to make a quick buck I think a live pay-per-view feed from the executive meeting regarding this poop storm would make a small fortune.
