My word on what? That subscriber numbers are going down?

Clearly I can't prove that since I don't have the data at hand, but watch this whilst I go and take a look for it.

yep this proves it and I watched the whole video...

Square Enix and Bioware should have never gotten into the MMO  buisness... making those games are not easy.

This has nothing to do with the topic, nor is it an accurate representation.

ORLY? And here i thought the story was about Commander Shepard fighting evil alien machines from outer space

EXACTLY this.

Yes, the Protheans are very important to the lore that acts as the foundation for the story that spans the three games.  They even mattered moreso in ME2 when we found out the Collectors were repurposed Protheans.  But the Protheans are by no means the central focus.  Shepard has been and always will be the central figure and focus of the ME story.

Agreed. If anything the Protheans are like the Forerunners from HALO. They are part of the BACKSTORY of the game, not the main plot.

Even though the industry standard on the mass produced cars we have been assembling for the past few years FINISHED with power lock braking, we feel it is justified to take it out and charge you 5k for it. Don't worry though, you're still getting the full experience if you don't buy it.

Wow some much hate about this. Its the same thing with DA2 Collectors Edition and I didn't see nearly as much hate. The Black Emporium and Sebastian DLCs where Day 1 items that you had to pay for if you didn't get the CE.

Currently it's knee jerk reactions stage, will take couple days before people start thinking it through.

Same principle of Origin when first announced, calm discussion usually happens after that. The scale of this is no larger than Origin or other past events. People tend to need to rant and make threats about pre-orders on BSN before gets out their system and settle down for actual polite and reasonable conversation. Productive dialogue normally starts at that stage.

Imagine the rage if they DIDN'T offer the DLC character to standard edition gamers!  It would be like a Reaper attack aroud here.

Yes, yes it is. It's using a goverment domain for MARKETING PURPOSES. Which is illegal in the UK.

Well, this was bad. The prothean should be in main game. This was really funny "the character was optional, and we are doing the people that will buy the SE a favor including this as a DLC".

The prothean is not optional if you want to understand what is happening in ME Universe. Since the first game I was wondering: what If some prothean survived and are around?

The prothean is not like Zaed or Kasumi or even Shadow Broker or Arrival. It should be a free DLC;

watch out! you said "should be a free dlc", the rabid fans will accuse you for being an "entitled spoiled gamer"

I'm not trying to start a fight, so don't even try to start.  It's the truth.  You want BioWare to listen?  Actually drive your case like you would want your lawyer to if you were in court.  All of this crap being thrown around is not doing any good for us.

The content in “From Ashes” was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification.

BS.  The game only went gold two weeks ago.

This prothean character has been known for 3/4 of a year now.  Are you telling me that a character, a mission and a couple of rinky-dink skins take 3/4 of a year to complete?

This type of terrible, disingenuous  PR is exactly why hate campaigns towards BioWare are started.  Not that I condone them, but they are to be expected.

Any content complete and near complete by the time the game is ready to ship should be free DLC for ALL purchasers of the game, or the game should be delayed to complete them for the disc.

This is a vile and disgusting practise and you have no doubt lose many sales due to it.

You want them to delay the launch with all the marketing and everything for one mission? Haha. Also, just because it's been "known about" for 9 months doesn't mean they started the actual work on the mission and character 9 months ago. How clueless do you have to be to say these things? Give me a break. It's been planned as DLC all along, so they knew getting the main game for the discs was the top priority since it had to be certified probably 4-6 weeks before launch. The DLC could have been completed 3-4 weeks later and still be ready for launch. So the priority here is obviously the content that will go on the discs.

Sure, they may have had concept art, hired a voice actor, did some basic layouts and voice testing, script work for the character and Eden Prime mission, etc., but I'd guess that the actual nuts and bolts of the designing of the level and polishing the gameplay of it happened very late in the overall process.

And they are constantly losing subscribers, most servers are a ghost town and the oceanic community is giving up what little hope it have.

Clearly doing well though.

I dont know what your talking about, I tend to see very active servers on most of the time, and infact the oceanic community is doing fine as far as I can tell.

You must play a different game because all I hear daily is my wife ****ing that she cant do quests because there are too many people running around in the area she is trying to do them in.

She is a very rare exception in one of the few servers that isn't dead. The forums testify to this, im sure at any given time of the day there is "I waited 2-6 hours for a group and/or it didn't happen" thread. And outside of the 1-15 leveling area every region following is a ghost town.

As someone who plays regularly--you're wrong? Don't know what else to say.

You do if the car you testdrove at the dealer did have a sunroof and leather seats, and you come home in a Fiat punto instead of a ferrari.

I can't understand your analogy, there was a prothean squadmate in the demo?

A better analogy is buying a car without a passenger seas door - it's not technically required but goddamn if it doesn't make things much better.

You've been making alot of great points, but I think you erred on this one. The entire car is ME3. So from day 1 you have the entire package. But if you wanted extra options like a sun roof, leather seats or modified components you'd have to pay extra for it. The passenger door missing would indicate that this DLC was required for you to be able to complete the original game, which is not the case. It is optional, like all the after-market options available for a car. The passenger door is included, like the main story is complete for ME3 with the purchase of the standalone game.

HEHEHE so funny, all that stuff is extra that you have to pay for......just like the DLC if you didn't get the super shinny limited edition version but now you want it your going to have to pay extra for those features:O

If you walk into the dealership thinking that the brand-new car you're test-driving is EXACTLY what you're going to drive out of the lot with while enjoying that new-car smell, you have no one to blame but yourself for that misconception.

You didn't test-play ME3 with the DLC content already in it, then get told it was an add-on.  It was an add-on from the start.  So your counter-argument doesn't hold water.

I really can't help but laugh at all the ranting by people in this thread. People who ordered the CE are paying an extra $20 for so aren't really getting this for free if you really think about it. Yet people are gonna complain about paying an extra $10 for a dlc character, extra squad outfits, weapon, and mission. Honestly both groups in my opinion are getting a pretty good deal when it all comes down too cause I bet stuff like the N7 patch, lithograph, and art book would typically run the cost up too more then the $20 those of us so ordered the CE are paying.

Good point. But lets say EA give in and give this DLC for free to every one, what about the peolpe who bought the CE? Should the CE peolpe be shorted? EA said the CE would be given extra charcter and mission from the day that CE went on sell, what would be given to them? Or should they get noting?

I don't know, I'm not a big car guy so I don't know anything about that fancy stuff.

Passenger seat doors seem swanky as hell, though.
