Yes here's one example of it being on the same website where the game can be purchased the exact same video thats on youtube is on gamestop.com.

www.gamestop.com/pc/games/mass-effect-3-n7-collectors-edition/91371

It is the 6th video on the page.

So again I have to watch a video on a different website embedded on Gamestop all the way through so I can get the nessesary information to buy the product? And you just said it's on the 6th video Am I supposed to watch all the videos?

Well it's my opinion as a consumer it's your responsibility to learn everything you can about a product before making the choice to buy it or not. I was away from the forums after Mass Effect was delayed and didn't come back till Dec, and when I decided to preorder ME3 in early January I made sure to learn everything I could about it that wasn't a spoiler for example the full contents of the SE and CE so I could make an imformed choice on which I wanted to preorder.

And what is in the script, the relevent one, has no dialogue from Javik essential to Mass Effect 3 in any form.  It's all expanded universe type information.

Please re-read my post above. (The one about atmosphere)

I did.  And while yes, it's cool to have all that ambient information, it is not vital, just like how all the expanded universe stuff in Star Wars isn't important to the original films as you viewed them.  That's all I'm saying.  Nothing about Javik is vital to the enjoyment of the full retail product.

With that said, Javik should just not have been kept in the game after BioWare originally wrote him out of the main plot early in development.  I like his character from what I know of him, but it's still a pretty ridiculous concept in bringing back a 50,000 race that has no impact.

That's not entirely true for certain people and what they take away from the game / how they interperate stories. For me specifically (as a fan of Lynch, Fellini etc. as well as games like Demons Souls / Dark Souls / Kings Field) atmosphere and "fluff" can create the foundation and immersive quality of a story. ESPECIALLY for the genre I enjoy (where the story is literally told BY the atmosphere, not by a cinematic narrative). While Mass Effect is more a cinematic experience, without the lore the story and value of the game decreases exponentially.

This is the entire problem with this thread. We are currently divided as a fanbase. People who NEED the immersive atmosphere for the story to really carry any weight and people who can enjoy the cinematic narrative for what it is.

It isn't until the fans can realize this and come to terms with their / our differences. But this is about money and business ethics / the gaming industry. So people will argue.

(Sorry if this is hard to read - doing homework at the same time)

Without playing the game you dont know do you, so thats a stupid argument.

How could the 4th aliance member on your team possibly have more lore than a 50000 year old species that's supposed to be extinct?

He wont but he could easily be 10000 times more relevant to the plot of the game, the game plot is more important than Lore this is not an encyclopedia where you go learn about a bunch of crap that happened its a game. Lore is only secondary to the plot it enforces it and gives somethign for the Plot to build upon, the plot will remain the same regardless of if you know the prothean's lore or not. You are not being deprived of anything required to complete the game or understand its plot.

Yeah, you know what?  Not going down this road anymore.  You're trying to provoke me, and I just don't feel the need to oblige you further.  You have your opinions, and I have mines, and never the twain shall meet....and that's just fine by me.  I'm done with you.

-Then I succeeded. Bye now. Time for shuteye for me anyway.

If you say so.  See ya.  Enjoy ME3 when it comes out.

The forum isn't a product page. This "product page" or forum post, wasn't around when you could start preordering.

-Tell me. How would that plan have made it past Ilos if it hadnt been for Vigil?

What good would Vigil have been if it wasn't for Shepard? And how does that have anything to do the Prothean character providing weapons and tactical advice, as you originally posited in your post?

So again your excuse is "I want someone to tell me everything and explain everything to me in one place because im too lazy to do research on what i spend my money on which is one of my duties as a consumer" and that is their fault?

This is the point though if you paid for the CE or the DLC you paid for the prothean and you get it if you didnt you only paid for ME 3 and not the Prothean, nothing has been denied to you that you paid for. You dont decide what volumes the milk seller sells the milk in you simply decide which you are willing to pay for and whcih you arent. If you dont want a full gallon of milk you buy a half gallon you dont demand that they change their packaging so you can get more without paying for it because you believe they should sell 3/4 gallons.

-Wat`? Analogy not computing.

Yeah seriously? Milk? LOL? this is so delightfully random it made me laugh :)

I'm very proud of the internet. BW's greed is the biggest story on N4G at the moment. And with TB backing up a boycott, it's looking good.

The fact that you just tried to compared EA/Bioware to Hitler immediately invalidates this statement, everything you have ever said or will ever say, as far as I'm concerned.

So wait for the review to come out before you buy the game or DLC. That's what I usually do, but value is always subjective you'll never know if it was worth it until you try the product. If you buy the game and feel like you didn't get your (60$) story fix, because the prothy was left out, then you can make a thread about it and we can discuss that complaint in detail.

Right now it does sound like you think everyone should get content that was never promised to them based on an assumption that Bioware cares more about your loyalty than your wallet; they don't, so get over it.

-Sound advice. Sound logic. I follow.

However I do not undestand how it "sounds like" I ask for content never promised. The previous two games rely heavily on prothean lore for moving the plot along, and disregarding it completely in the third installment would be... well... not logical.

Bioware had better care about my loyalty... because my loyalty decides where I dump my money. If I feel I am listened to and I am treated properly, I am insanely loyal, and I dont mind shopping often, and more than I need. If I am not loyal, I have zero reason to spend a dime with Bio.

Really?  You want the product page?  Fine.

http://masseffect.co...out/collectors/

You will notice, down there at the bottom, 'includes additional downloadable mission and character'.  And that page has been around for quite some time.  But why take my or the developers word for it?  Clearly this is all a conspiracy to make you pay $10.

For....who, exactly?  For the people willing to boycott a game for having to pay for optional content?

Alrighty, then.  You're all winners, I guess.

-People whine on the internet over a news about 'X' game
-Game launches,sells very well
-People forget about the whining and move on with their lives
-Rinse and repeat

If you think this boycott will affect EA/Bioware, well you are VERY naive
