So I'm fairly deep into the game and I have both Morrigan and Leliana's approval ratings pretty high via gifts and doing some of their side quests. I have not really romanced either one (I think). I just wanted their prroval ratings high so their get their stat bonuses. I have flattered them both for approval but I don't recall kissing or sleeping with them.

Well I am at the stage where I get the ultimatum from Morrigan to choose between her or Leliana after giving her the Black Grimoire. I was kinda surprised since I didn't think I was involved with either of them. WTF? Do eligible party members automatically fall in love with you strictly based on if the approval rating gets to a certain point and you get ultimatums? I thought you had to explicitly state your love and kiss/sleep with them. Is it unavoidable?

It depends on what responses you gave to them. If you even somewhat hinted at liking them in that way, it goes on that track. It will continue on that track until you tell them differently.

Well I did give them flattering remarks (esp. Leliana) in hopes of best approval points. I might have used the "I think of you more than just a friend" response. oh well.



My hope was to delay an romance options until all the way near the end of the game. I wanted them both at 90+ approval but with being directly involved with either so I don't shut the door with the other. Is that even possible?
