I have a question, that's been bugging me recently, what with the upcomming release of ME3 and all. Will the romancees recognize if your character underwent a gender change or not? I ask because I started up a femshep in ME2 and heard there will be some conflicts with old flames romanced in ME1 for ME3. If I romanced Ashely in ME1 would she turn a blind eye to a few 'enhancements' cerberus made during the interveneing period? Would she have a cat fight with Garrus if he became the new love interest? I'd love to get everyone's opinion on this : ).

...what?

You started out as manShep, but then made a new playthrough as femShep? Is that what you're saying?

You can use gibbed to change genders.

My ME1 playthrough was as manshep. I started an ME2 playthrough as Femshep. I was just wondering how that would work out for continuity in the romance plotlines for ME3.

Its possible it might, but more likely it'll just glitch out. I don't believe Ashley has any dialogue relating to Garrus.

Uh...okay, it's possible my brain isn't functioning properly due to severe lack of sleep but...
they are two different characters. It's not the same person.

Yes, but the decisions were imported and I'm guess those included the romance ones too. If ME3 imports those decisions, does it ignore them or come up with special cases?

It will probably screw up your game since you have romanced someone you shouldn't have been able to, and cheated on them with someone they will probably have no dialog for. Worst case scenario is your game will crash, or just not import correctly. Like the time I accidentally flagged I romanced both Kaidan and Ashley and the game crashed at the part where Kaidan/Ashley/Liara come to talk to you on the exploding Normandy.

I would it assume it will ignore the romance you did with your original gender.

Well, it's not technically cheating, if it can be done within the mechanics of the game; and my ME2 game hasn't crashed yet. I believe ME3 supports same-sex relationships, so such conflicts could occur within the parameters of the game.

I tried Google and search here and not come up with this, so I'll ask..
If I played as a man at start,,ME1 saved, changed gender to female romanced ASH all went well..
Would like to, import that save to ME2..Now it imports, alright..

But I am recognised as a female now.
Hmm.. I even did an experiment, went back to ME1, right before my last save before you face Saren,in Citaadel.  I changed gender back to male, thinking it would then import as a male, played out that last bit as him.. then I could gender change it  back in Gibbed  was my hope.. but still called  mam..

In Gibbed it says, I romanced Ash..However since you are tagged before  you can save..as Illusive man and Miranda acknowledge me as she..in the talk before it starts..

Default female Shep of course, looks like default shepard, but now they're still callling me mam..

In gibbed I even tried turning myself into default male shepard, go in game ME2 save, then back into gibbed into default Shepard female..to no avail..no glitched in face or anything..

Sooo.. my question is, in the comic book part when it got to the part of telling me who I romanced screen went black, stopped, and then continuned with the reconstruct of me..So the rest was not told of the story, yet appears in Gibbed..raw section..correct..

My Q...even though they are calling me mam, even though its recognised , in Editor ME1 RI is ASH..
Will, I still be able to say romance Jack or Miranda as this Shep..or am i buggered at this point..
As long as I am not getting the sir, as a female Shep, as it did in ME1 at times, is this bugged now, or will it address me as mam, and yet allow me to romance say Tali, Jack  Miranda... ect..

Thanks all for patience and any answer or help, someone could offer.
Is it possible at all to import and or work around somehow with Gibbed, a gender changed Shep and have all my choices play through as my new gender yet with same sex romance options..:crying:

Okay, here's what I did - I started ME1 as a female, changed gender to male, and romanced Kaidan. That carried through brilliantly into ME2 (got Kaidan's picture on my desk, got the hug, got the 'I loved you' convo and letter). I'm planning on gibbing my now M/Shep so that he romances Thane. My question: does anyone know if the gibbed will carry through to ME3? I know that ME3 recognizes if you romanced Ash/Kaidan as same gender in ME1, but I'm not certain if it does for any other companion.

Why use Gibbed and risk glitching up your game and making it see you as the wrong gender when you can just romance Kaidan as manshep regularly now? :/

...didn't mess up my game.

Then again my dude Shep only counted as female in ME1. ME2 and ME3 treat him as male.

'Cause I'm romancing Thane...And, when I get to ME3, I really want the 'jealousy' convo with Kaidan.   I had console changed ME1 to romance Kaidan on another play through, and didn't gibbed in ME2 'cause I was stayin' true to Kaidan, and then picked right up in ME3.  I just wanna know if that works with any of the other non-BioWare specific romances (as I'm doing with Thane).

That's what I got on another play through where I console changed my gender to romance Kaidan.  Stayed true in ME2, and carried right through to ME3 without any other changes.
