or here is something that I heard on the fourms earlier
you have the reg characters unlocked off the start and the initial "free box" that you get you get to pick a single character of your choice. 1 time use.
then you keep all the random boxes
For me, this would actually be the best.
I wouldn't mind the "grind" for any new races, classes, genders, customizations or weapons etc if I could just do it with a character that I love playing. The purpose of multiplayer should be
the fun of the game itself, anyways, not to get addicted to grinding credits to (possibly!) unlock exciting stuff. As soon as this happens, the game turns into a job. Just look at various MMO forums and see what kind of behaviour this approach is breeding.
And I like how the apologists actually betray this concept themselves when they talk about how people should just "work" for whatever they want. I do enough work in the office. When I get home I'd just like to
play for an hour without being tempted to keep an eye on some xp or credit counter.
Tl;dr: the current system detracts from the actual fun of simply shooting up things and completing objectives as a team - whenever you open yet another 20k pack with
nothing interesting inside, you get the impression that the past one or two games were for naught, and this shouldn't be.
