Go screw yourself. Not every single player has the luxury of time here. Crap like this is why I hate MP in general.

People like you are the reason i hate MP in general. Why so dickish to that guy who was just making a simple, and reasonable, point.

Back out, queue up. You just spent three minutes.

But if your time is soooooo precious, then you need to stow the controller and get back to your oh so important real life.

Eventually we all have to retire. Some sooner than others. Sad shame, but we all have to do it. I know I will as soon as I have a kid.

And again, Swearing. Stop. Your mother. Better upbringing than that.

You still haven't accounted for other factors involved (i.e. Questionable networking/MP not working properly.). I'm ****ing done with you, ******.

For someone whose time is apparently quite important. You've managed to waste close to an hour replying to someone who is clearly baiting you, and acting like a child in the process. Seriously, mate. Take a step back, breath and calm down.

I have a gut feeling that what the Daklanceff said might be already implemented in the full game, i mean they wouldnt just give us those 2 crappy crates, now would they? you might not be able to pick your character in the "ELITE" or "SUPER" packs but chances are, they will have a 100% chance of having more than one character or (rare) weapon.

As for the two guys that defend the current random drop sistem, i have a N7 lv 110, i have played the hell out of the demo (maxed out my asari adept and my krogan soldier, currently doing the infiltrator) and i do support having an option to choose what you unlock, this isnt some competitive game where unlocks matter that much like... TF2, people should have that option.

Weird bit, I'm not even trying. I am literally playing ME1 and trouncing about Virmire and replying whenever Shepard isn't talking. Let's you know how much "free time" he's got.

Done with me he says. Betcha he'll be back in half an hour trying to argue with me again.

Just to state: I really hate the random unlocks, but thats not the point of this post.

its really quite simple:

- In the full version keep the random boxes that you have in the demo.
- Add a new box that lets you pick a character that you want to unlock (for 50,000 credits lets say)

this lets both sides of the argument get what they want.

this solution should have something to satisfy everyone

No, just no.

How many Asari Vanguards have you seen? (unless it was completely removed from the demo, which I doubt) Now how many would you see if you could just pick it up freely?

That's the part where you feel rewarded and also when you see one joining in the lobby you're like "holy crap! an Asari Vanguard! (think about people unlocking Jedi in early times of SWG)

Instead of the OP's suggestion, I'd much prefer a guaranteed random rare (gold edged) card for 100,000 credits.

You may not get what you want, but you'll always get something good to make you feel better about it :)

I'm kinda happy with the way things are but Bioware should build in a hierarchy to the unlocks. Less of the unlock the same thing repeatedly and share the love around. Etc. you buy a cheap crate and you are more likely to unlock the female human solider you don't have rather than the female adept you have had 5 of. Same applies for veteran crates. Sometimes it feels like you need to sacrifice a goat to Ra in order to unlock new characters.

I think today someone tried to convince me there was nothing wrong with the drop system. But I couldn't hear them so well over my mountain of shotguns.

Honestly the ability to purchase the class or species you want to play with a large sum of credits fits nicely into the whole "play more so you can get more" only without that horrible playing five days on limited time as something you dislike with the faint hope that lady luck will finally grant you what you were wanting.

If I hadn't have unlocked that krogan I would have stopped playing some time ago. It just wan't worth it.

Er what? The only reason asari are so rare is BECAUSE of the random unlocks, not because the asari vanguard are so special. At this point seeing almost any alien will give the same reaction, usually of bitter jealousy.

Everyone should be allowed to play what they want. God knows not everyone has the time to play nonstop to get that one thing they have been wanting. Time is precious. Wasting that much time to get the class you want so you can have fun is COUNTER productive in a CO-OP mode.

I really don't like the "randomness" of crates, so I went through every damn rank of every common and uncommon gun, excluding rare, and not once have I unlocked a Turian Sentinel. I don't want any of the crap basic lvl. 10 guns I want my character not others which I won't play and won't enjoy playing.

I think that having class specific packs would be a very good thing.

A box worth 25,000 with at least one item that's related to your current loadout would be good as that way we'd stop having sniper rifles and shotguns being thrown onto caster classes who if sensible would never use them. I wouldn't mind getting the same gun or upgrade if I could use with my playstyle.

I have been playing the demo since the day it came out now. I'm at N7115, and I have managed to unlock everything in the demo except the revenant assault rifle and it's pissing me off because no matter how many veteran packs I buy I cannot get it.

I do however enjoy the randomness of the unlocks, but seriously it get really annoying when I am promised an uncommon in every veteran pack, but now veteran packs give me the same thing recruits do.

I am very happy you have the time to waste a week hunting for your specific class and race.

Well, out of all the games i have played and completed, i have never felt that gratification that people talk about, all i see is 'about freaking time' and the game gets shelved for a while.

But the things i don't like is that important unlocks are just too random and i think 100k is too high a cost, i mean, i have never had that much, since i always spend it on the 20k vet pack and that tends to have a slight improvement over the 5k novice pack.

Emphasis on slight. The only thing guranteed to be good is the three of those missles and spec op/medigel. Otherwise I usually get an upgrade for that pistol I never use.

Great solution! But I'd probably make it like 150,000

The fun thing is I don't mind the big numbers people are throwing around. Even if it costs a lot of in game currency, I would be happier because I can measure, and approximate how much longer it will take me to get what I want.

I will still be unhappy about having to play as classes and characters I don't like, but at least I won't be waiting a week with the faint hope of playing something I won't ever get to play.

For a brief week I had internet access thanks to a friend who let me watch his house, that entire week I didn't unlock anything I wanted until the last day I was able to watch the house. I only got to play as a salarin infiltrator, or a krogan soldier for one afternoon, now when the full game comes out will I have to do that again?

Le sigh.

IMO Bioware is trying something different that you don't see in other Multi-player games and while I agree it's not perfect overall I am fine with the current system as is. I don't see any compromise option that would really work, as soon as you include a way to bypass the current system whether by adding a really expensive pack for example would instantly break the system.

To me the current system is like my old baseball card collecting habit in days past. You would buy a pack and aside from the gum you had no idea what you would get inside and it makes for a nice surprise. And that system was worse because you'd often get doubles at least here a double upgrades the character/item. It's completely fair and completely random so maybe to those who lost or never had the patience for that type of system I say give it a chance.

QFMFT. I sure as hell did not waste my time time trying to get the highest rank in Gears of War, Call of Duty, and Halo. I got burned out within less than two weeks and am not bothering coming back, even if my closest friends are begging for me to play.

Uh, no. I shouldn't have to waste a week to a month just to get that one alien race I really want. 30+ matches in, I only have a Krogan Soldier and a Salarian Infiltrator when I only want the Krogan Soldier and Turian Soldier.

Uh, there was nothing reasonable about his post. His post is translated as "System is fine as it is. Deal with it *Insert Sheploo with Shades.*" There's nothing reasonable about "Spend your entire life playing MP just to get that one favorite character you want."

Are you kidding me? Asari rare?

It's litterally crawling with Asari Adepts. Hence why I was talking about Asari Vanguards. I have yet to see one.

I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of this unlock system, it keeps the population of a certain class in check (well except for these Asari Adepts that should be less common) and you feel rewarded when finally you get your card.

If your time is so precious I'd advice you to find another way to entertain yourself.
