As the title states, what do you think?

I think we will find a way to recruit them.
They make the krogan look like toddlers with huge heads.
Shepard will figure something out.

You run into a Yahg or two on Sur'Kesh. There's also discussion in the demo about Giant Varren.

I hope so, for them to look like soemthing out of a nightmare yet highly intelligent (creepy emails i n the shadow broker dlc). I just hope that isn't the only one we see.

Maybe capture a few and release in the interior of a reaper?

I heard somewhere that the Yahg will be re-introduced. I hope they are because if they aren't it would be leaving us hanging in the dark.

They would be great tanks. They don't seem like the most friendly species though. They make the krogan look like salarians. I don't see this happening. Would be cool to see them in the game but I don't see them becoming a war asset.

Of all the races they are the most interesting to me. I hope we could do a side mission on Parnack to patch things up with them and the citadel council.

They are all insane xenophobes. Not sure there is really a realistic way to patch anything up.

In the new cinematic trailer I kind of think that big ugly indoctrinated beast that Shepard flies into with his omni-blade could be a Yahg. Not sure though, thoughts?

No. That's a Brute, a krogan and turian hybrid Reaper beast. Confirmed a long, long time ago.

Haven't you seen a single BRUTES in any of the trailers? Like at all?
The big scary guy with one big arm?
Yahg is restricted to homewotld so i don't think there's gonna be lots of them anw.

and these brutes are big enough to deal with right now

Didn't the Shadow Broker files suggest he had trouble finding a Yahg who had any interest going off-world? Doesn't sound like they'd care to help much, and being pre-spaceflight, the Reapers would ignore them unless they wanted them as husk material. Would be interesting to see a Krogan, Yahg and Rachni face off though...man that's be a fight.

You will see a couple in the game but thats it, they dont really help with the war. Reapers ignore them completely.

What makes you so sure? They're not just sentient, they're highly intelligent. So what they're pre-space flight, if the Reapers found cause to slag a bronze civilization they'd find plenty of cause to pick on the Yahg.

Personally I wouldn't want to see them in the game. It made for a fun surprise with the Shadow Broker - it highlighted the deviousness and intelligence of the creature. But if they turn them into minibosses - or worse, fodder - it completely squashes any interesting thing about them and turns them into "generical alien evil beastie no1020241".

The only mention of a Yahg I'd seen in the spoilers was on Sur'Kesh, where they undoubtedly only serve the function of laboratory test subjects for the Salarians. I don't think the Yahg as a race will play a particularly large role in this game.

If I remember right, the Yahg are in an industrial revolution of sorts, or just got out of one, putting them about where humanity is today, or a bit sooner. Pre-normal-spaceflight.

So how about you imagine if an alien species suddenly came to Earth and said, "Guys! There's an army of sentient machines taking over our planets! We need your help!" Would any human want to go help?

I think not. We'd stick to our own world, flip them the bird, and say "handle your own problems; we've got politics and our own wars to worry about". Let alone *if* we believe them at all.

I like to think the denizens of the ME universe learned their lesson with krogan, anyway.

Besides, if the Yahg don't have spacefaring tech yet, they'd only serve a decent role as ground troops--brutal and incooperative ground troops, given their disposition. I don't think it's really worth it, to be honest. I'd rather mount gattling guns on a pack of elcor, armor them up, and call them living tanks. At least the elcor know how to take orders.

Yahgs are impressive and all, but I bet they lack the endurance of a Krogan (if the two where to fight, especially with bare knuckles, my guess is that the yahg would start with a clear upper hand, but since the krogan simply refuses to go down, it ends up KOing the Yahg. Krogans are the Rocky Balbooa of the ME universe). So I guess they would be effective as Shock troops, but not being used to opposition (being the apex predator of their homeworld) they might not be that effective when encountering hard opposition.

To the 3 posts above, I'd like to point out that the Yahg are violently xenophobic. I don't think you could even enter some tenuous diplomatic relations with them, let alone an alliance.

if i recall corectly didnt liara state they were a non space flight race? and that the council pretty much quarintined them for killing their first contact group? if i had to guess STG is coming up with plans to go genocide on them as they have no value to the galaxy at all. personaly ide rather have Wrex.

STG were experimenting on them just in case they did manage space capability (If they did they would probably would be worse than the krogans and the rachni)

Highly intelligent and strong. I would not be surprised if they get their own storyline for another ME game. The Batarians and Krogans seem like natural races for them to start a proxy war in preparation for an invasion.
