bah...

they make up a new - and IMHO - very cool squad for ME2, then put you through doing all their loyalty missions (yeah it was fun - at least for most of them) and get all the ship upgrades in order to not have them die (which is the only thing i could do, really, i might not be a goody two shoes, but i can't abide killing people who adhere to you and trust you...so anyone who - even worse if done deliberately - is bad IMHO...as for doing it: i got the "everybody lived" on my first play through!) and now they "take them away"?

sorry, i do not get it (i hope this leak and the demo-files are a huge hoax or something....) - even more so because i would rather have my ME2 squad (an NO james vega) with the missing ME1 personal (ash or kaidan and liara) then a wanna be new one....not that i dislike garrus and tali (i like her - very much so in fact)....

greetings LAX
ps: as for that "leak" (which i do not believe fully in, because i think bioware is to professional for something like that to happen):

where can i read the full thing?...PM me if you know, ok? - Thank you :)

Most of the stuff showcased so far has been found to be legit good sir. Doubt the demo stuff is a hoaxs

I'd actually wager that if you did a Romance in ME2, that the person you romanced could end up being a permanent squad mate. Obviously there's been no confirmation on that, so we'll just have to see. One reason I'm importing a Shepard whose romanced Miranda first.

Sorry but the squadmates have already been confirmed.

So we are back to the original number of 6... fine by me, if they develop as deep as they did in ME1.

All other chars from the preveous games will be possible allies/temp. squadmates too, though... and there will be romances outside the main crew.

yeah...confirmed my behind :D ^^

no really, i reserve judgement (and believe) till i have the game in my own hands and i am playing it :)....i am a sceptic and i really would not put it past bioware to put out a hoax in order for people to be "satisfied" and no longer try to probe the company and it's workers for info on the new game :)

and i have another reason not to believe:

that this "leak" has lead to so much public outcry that makes me think that bioware would have thought more on their decisions in order to avoid slighting certain groups of fans and as for the romance options:

not to have them on the ship (say you romanced someone from ME2) complicates things IMHO (you can't talk to them all the time if you wish (at least not if you do not hog the communications-room all the time)....so yeah i am an unbeliever :D

greetings LAX
ps: yes, it still might be true (there is much evidence for that, but still i reserve my judgement for reasons stated above (and a few more) :)

So let's see... If this is in fact the final list (some people in the thread have said it's confirmed that that's it; I have never see the spoilers list from the leak demo, so I wouldn't know if that's true or not), let's look at class possibilities...

1(2) Biotics -- Liara (Kaiden)
2 (3) Soldiers -- Vega, Garrus (Ashley)
2 Tech -- Tali, EDI

Then the DLC guy, but he shouldn't count for balancing.

While this kind of list would be very, very disappointing while in comparison with ME2, it's really not all that different from ME1.

3 Biotics -- Liara, Wrex, Kaiden
2 Soldiers -- Ashley, Garrus
1 Tech -- Tali

However, since Tali and Garrus may not make it, that could potentially leave a player with only four squadmates. And that seems... small, to say the least. Plus, it worries me that Liara will have plenty of plot armor, since she could theoretically be your only biotic, much like how you couldn't get rid of Tali because she was your only true tech in ME1. I don't want another Anders situation where you potentially have to alter your in-game decision on account of gameplay. (Killing Anders in DA2 could get rid of your only medic before, you know, the game's final battle. Not smart.)

I'm hoping to all that's holy that there are one or two more squadmates, or at the very least that we have occasionaly temporary squadmates from old times.

Also, Kasumi had better damn well play a role. I heart her.

But Kaiden was a sentinel, he knew how to use tech.

Hm. Not much choice in regards who I will be taking out with me then.
Ashley and either EDI or Vega - I do wonder witch one of those 2 will be more bearable.

You get Cerberus allies in the game as well and I have a feeling while he may not be a squade mate right away, he may join you later.  I also have a feeling that eithe he may be a second DLC member later and or we will get a nother 2nd hidden squad mate later on. Much like in Mass 2 with Zieed and Kasumi. This time it will be Prothian and Kai Leng or another unseen member we havent seen or heard of yet.

I have a few questions for you Mass 2 players. There is an option to turn Leigon over to Cerberus in Mass 2 and not reactivate him and also there is the option to not let Grunt out of his tank and Edi says the tank can support him for up to a year. Did anyone give up Leigon and or not release Grunt and if so, what impact on game 3 do you think may come of this? Being the Alliance now has the Normandy, would Grunt still be in his tank on the ship or now in controle by the Alliance in a cage somewhere? Or maybe let out but now working for the Alliance? Could any of this even happen? Do you need to let Grunt out in 2 before the end mission?

I also want to point out that a lot of you think those characters that are shown in the Mass Effect 3 section in the Art book under Allies are indeed the permanent squad mates because those are the ones they show. If that were the case, why is the so called confirmed Tali as a permanent squad mate not shown in that section?

Dunno what happens with Grunt. I know he is replaced by a redshirt Krogan during one of the ME3 missions he appears in, but that's if he's killed in ME2.

For Legion, if you turned him over to Cerberus, it's going to make it pretty difficult to get the Geth on your side, and impossible to make peace between the Geth & the Quarians.

Kai Leng is constantly trying to murder you. That is his role. He's phantom numero uno. His entire job in the game is to kill Shepard. Not sure how in the world he would become a squadmate.

Well, it happened once with Loghain, so it's a vague possibility. That said, I don't think it's going to happen this time.

Man, I loved that sequence. Revenge, redemption. What a great story that game has.

This is actually a point to note, as Jack is also there in the allies-section and BEFORE Battlestar Galactica!!!!!!!!!!

Having been spoiled by spoilers, I have.

Liara
Virmire Survivor
Garrus
Vega
Edi
Tali
and Bonus 'Blood Diamond" Prothean.

Here are links to hear EDI and Africano Prothy

Additions or corrections to the list would be appreciated.

So we know:
Ashley/Kaiden
Garrus
Tali
EDI
Prothean
Vega
Liara

The Mass Effect art book seems to imply that Jack is a squaddie.  Or at least she is the only returning ME2 squad member to get any attention in the ME3 section of the book.  Seems like some notable work was put into changing/evolving her look and giving her a role in the new galactic scene....plus she's shown in various actiony poses and holding a weapon.  Maybe they just liked the concept work and wanted it in the book but it seemed notable to me.....they give her as much attention as they do EDI or the Prothean or Vega, so I would not be at all surprised if she's a squad member in this game.  Some effort was put into giving her a new style of dress and growing out her hair and giving her this new backstory and position, etc.....if she were just a simple NPC cameo for a minute or two that would seem like a waste of manpower.

Also, there's an awful lot of talk about Wrex....would seem like an easy touch to have Wrex OR Grunt fill the Krogan role, leaving a blank space for those cruel players that killed all Krogans that ever served under them.  The amount that Wrex has been featured made me think he was a confirmed squad member.  Where is the source that says he is not?

All the other squad characters I don't really expect to come back.  Was kind of hoping for Thane but oh well.  I like having Tali and Liara and Garrus around again, and look forward to using EDI.

Sorry... it dose not imply any of them in the book are squad mates as all it implies is that they are Allies unlike in the Mass 2 section it says they are squadmates.

Outside the leak from november, I don't know that there is any hard evidence if Jack is a squadie or not. I'm assuming not, but unless someone has seen or played through the actual game, not sure we can say that is how it's going to be in the end.

Do you have the game? No? Then take your non-existent credibility and wipe your ass with it. :wizard:
