So we are back to the original number of 6... fine by me, if they develop as deep as they did in ME1.

All other chars from the preveous games will be possible allies/temp. squadmates too, though... and there will be romances outside the main crew.

I'm hoping for greater depth. ME1 didn't really have too much depth. Especially with Tali and Garrus. Thanks to Loyality Missions ME2 usually gave each squadmate more depth with the exception being Jacob. Even Zaeed can begrudgingly learn a little about trust and teamwork if you go the Paragon route (otherwise he's a static character).

So with a squad this reduced in size (sadly) I hope each character has depth greater than any BioWare game to date. I'll be terribly disappointed if we get the amount of depth ME1 had with them.

Do you have the game? No? Then take your non-existent credibility and wipe your ass with it. :wizard:

Whether you believe the leaks or not is up to you. The information I rely on comes from someone who proved their insider knowledge over a period of months. His info was proven multiple times by public releases that happened later.

We know who the squadmates are. Jack is not one of them.

The mysterious 'insider'? Really? Not saying all signs don't point to this, but claiming absolute knowledge of a mysterious inside source is about as belivable as when people claim to be 'game developers' when they are trolling around on forums. Unless you say you've talked to people who've actually played through the games, there isn't any mysterious insider info other than the leak that came out in november.

I'm Commander Shepherd and I fully endorse this sentiment!

In ME2, these were my "goto" guys, they were on my squad nearly all the time, for the "when your enemies absolutely have to die and die fast" missions.

My ME3 team will most likely be Ashley (if she gets to wear her Cinematic Trailer armor and not a flimsy bodysuit!) and Garrus.

And if Ashley doesn't get decent armor, my backup squad will be Garrus and Prothean.

Tali might get used sometime just to mix it up a little.
Liara will be used least of all, since I'm not a fan of biotics in gameplay (they're the first one to go down in battle!).
And Vega does not interest me at all, even if he's a Soldier. And also because of this rule: my second soldier isn't a Krogan? I'm not accepting an imatation!

As for Subject Zero, I'm never going to see her again! What with her being dead and all! And yes, I did that on purpose!
The same applies to Massani, I also "removed him from the state of play".

Still waiting for a Batarian Senintel, Bioware.......

Edit- Oh and scpulle, almost everyone in the spoiler groups knows about the source. His on the Something Awful forum and he even have pictures to prove he played the game. So yeah, he has some credibility.

Further questions.....actually, some of these are involving the ME1 to ME2 import characters as well....

If you never took Wrex along in ME1, how do encounters with him in ME2 and ME3 work? Does the game treat it as if he died or simply not include him or does he re-introduce himself or what? Ditto for not taking Garrus along in ME1.

Now for ME2 to 3.....if you didn't pick up a character (Tali, for example) or didn't "activate" a character (Legion, Grunt) what happens? Are they treated as dead or is there a new option where Tali just gets pissy you didn't bring her along last adventure? :-P

Well Garrus and Wrex are treated as if you brought them along from ME1 to ME 2, I did that just to see what would happen, and it was mildly disappointing. But you can't really expect voice over for all of those possibilities.

Does anyone have any details on what their squad powers are? I'm really curious about Kaiden and the Prothean.

Honestly I really hate Ashley and Kaiden being squad mates. After the way they acted in ME2 towards Shepard I hope there is a way to NOT have them.

Well, major spoiler territory here, but:
Early on (during the mission to Mars), the VS is left behind on the Citadel because they were seriously injured during that mission, so they don't even join the squad full-time immediately. Then, later, the VS is tricked by a certain person into believing Kai Leng (the top Cerberus assassin from the novel Mass Effect: Retribution) is an Alliance intel guy and that Shepard is doing some unsavory things. If you fail to persuade the VS to trust you (with Kai Leng egging them on from the background, even), you have to kill them. Very Wrex-like.
So yes, there is a way not to have them on your squad, if you don't mind shooting them in the face. Mind you, I think a more satisfying answer would be to convince them that you were right and then get a chance to listen to their heartfelt apologies in the subsequent dialogue wheels. But maybe that's just because I'm not a homocidal psychopath, I dunno.

******Possable spoilers******

Getting to take Ashley out would be awesome! I read this part on the script and I really hope it's in the game along with the VS or Liara scenario.

The prothean has Slam (Miranda's loyalty power in ME2). Not sure about Kaidan.

I'm aware, I have been on Something Aweful and seen the info being spilled out. It's still a lot based on how the game was back in November and during different stages of testing. It doesn't rule out that there are things that have been changed the 'inside man' either hasn't shared or is sharing info that's old. I'm not saying it's wrong, just I'm not taking anything based on QA testing builds to be gospel, I'd rather look at streams of the retail game. And another thing, they usually have a lot more voice actor lines delievered then they actually use, so it's entirely possible some stories are different than even the november leak. It's not gospel that's 100 percent true like everyone keeps acting like it is.

well - i hope this leak is "toilet-paper", meaning that it is not true in the slightest :(...it probably will be sadly...

as for shooting ash? - can't...at least not often...i would have to shoot kaidan instead ^^ (and i won't because i like biotics - i always play a biotic/tech-team (2 biotics (one being sheppard, normally) and a tech (mostly tali in ME2)...so my squad will most likely be: liara, tali and shep of course)...soldiers are so "booring"...i do not need those...brute force is not my style...that is why i dislike mr. vega...would have loved to get someone else instead :( - like miranda, samara, or WREX :)

greetings LAX
ps: i have played a soldier on my first try with ME1 (i stopped after the first mission as it was: just simple shooting, which bores me, i rather toss a combat drone in between - or, even better, a singularity or a WARP (i love that power!)...or later on a nice "freight-train" shockwave :)

The whole leak doesn´t have to be toilet paper at all, actually.

Do people really think that the leak is the full game?
They do actually lack alot of stuff i hear and the stuff is old.

Besides BW included Tali because of fan cry.
I believe ME2 has atleast enough fans crying for them to insert one more squadmate to calm those people down.

And we do know one major thing BioWare changed: Thane´s mission.

I'm assuming that the Prothean is a biotic/combat character, is that correct?

Because we've got:
Liara = pure biotic
EDI and/or Tali = pure tech
Vega and/or Ashley = pure combat
Kaiden = biotic/tech
Garrus = combat/tech

Which means the only combo we don't have is a combat/biotic.

ME3 lack of squadmates IMO. We will maybe see more with DLCs........... There were a lot of squadmates in ME2 and I founded that appreciable, even if you don't love them all.

Apparently the Prothean's true name is Javik.
Quite a nice, alien sounding name in my opinion. Feels a bit ancient too.

If you lost all or most of your Squad mates in 2 I cant see you playing all the way through mass 3 with Kaden/Ash, Liara, Vega, Edi (if she truly is a squad mate) and the Prothian (if you download him) This to me just isnt good. I want at least an option for a full time Salarian, Turian and or Krogan squad mate. Was it to much to finaly get a Batarian squad mate. A Vorcha would have been cool too I think. I mean Im sure Vega will play as your tank/soldier in the game but I much rather would have a true KROGAN tank.

It's funny you should say that. A Baterian Sentinel would be awesome!!!!

Funny you should mention that.

One of the Squadmate options I was hoping for was a Batarian.
Doesn't matter what they did, as long as they were a Batarian.

The other Squadmate option I was interested in was a Vorcha.

I even removed two ME2 squadmates to make room for them on the list!
Sadly, it looks like neither of these are going to happen now.

And yes, I concur with the sentiment about Vega being Tankish.
He may even be a good tank, but he's not a Krogan tank, therefore, I'm not interested.

Sigh, it looks like Mass Effect keeps killing my Soldier dreamteam.
ME2, Ashley wasn't available to partner with Grunt.
ME3, Ashley is back, but Grunt isn't there anymore.

In the first case, I substituted Garrus for Ashley until Legion was recruited, then he took over.
Not sure what I'll do in ME3, probably Garrus again unless Prothy is any good, then he can step in.
