What is the point if no one online can see the name when you press right on the d-pad to see what everyone is currently using?    0__0;

If you send them off into the SP after maxing them out, you'll run across them.

So you know which one you want to import as a war asset in single player.

I guess that would be cool but if it isn't true then it's pointless. I can't continue if I don't select a name which is stupid. The game should just make up a random name so I can proceed. At the moment all m y characters are numbered.

One, Two, Three etc.

If I want to get creative and name my character i'll go back to playing WoW.

I thought the "Promote" button was to promote the character into SP as war assets. Correct me if this theory has been denied.

If they took the time and effort to implement it they could have taken the time and effort so other players could see the name.

Because... Why the hell not?

Origin name/gamertag: Unique, consistent even if player changes class.

Character name: Not unique, can be changed easily.

And no, it does not take "time and effort" to throw in a textbox.

Can't you get pissed off about something that's a bigger deal, like day one DLC or Revenant nerfing?

I guess it might be nice for those of us who want to pretend to roleplay.

Trying to come up with names for all of them will be challenging. I'll have to write down the ones I've already made.

Actually, the character names are semi-unique, in that you're not allowed to have two multiplayer characters with identical names at the same time. You can't name both your Turian Soldier and your Turian Sentinel "Saren," for example - you'd have to change the name of the first before you could give that name to the second. Given that the names don't appear to have any use other than for the player's reference, it seems an odd restriction.

I think it would have been nice if you were referenced by your character's name primarily, with your platform ID in parentheses after it.

Its mostly for fun. Fun is rarely seen or discussed these days on BSN, although some of us can recall having it <_<

Exactly. It doesn't take time or effort to throw in a text box. It's could be thrown in the game in just a few seconds so why the hell not? I'll tell you why. LAZY.

Why would I get pissed off at the DLC or Revenants? My views about it are obviously different than yours because I see nothing wrong with it.  Revenant nerf. What a joke. It's a pos to start with more like it needs a buff.

Exactly. It's for fun. I like my vanguard "Roxy" more than I like my "Level 20 Vanguard" even though theyre the same thing.

If we couldn't name our characters I wouldn't have a quarian named Chica vas Poopoo. That would be tragic.
