Hi there, I am going to make it short:
CoOp gameplay is improved by orders of magnitude when people can communicate. The obvious best would be a working microphone, but not everyone has one (and I somehow doubt the ingame depiction of most poeple having is entirely accurate as only a very limited part of those people ever so much as mumble a word.).
So, to ensure at least a minimum amount of coordination can take place, I do ask for a textchat to be incorporated in the fullgame where people can coordinate raw strategies, whom to accompany whom and hints and advices to be exchanged.

for some reason I remember someone saying it's in the full game just not activated yet. tho I don't know who said or when so don't quote me XD

Well, you'll find "text chat" in the key bindings in the demo, so I'd say it's definitely in-game for the final product. The default key, FYI, is 'T'.

I don't see an area of the lobby that looks unused...unless there is a diffrent lobby set up in the full build.

A lot of games don't incorporate the chat into the UI but use an overlay instead. Maybe that's the way they go. I just can't imagine them not putting a simple text chat in there...
