Got it Christmas 2007. My bro played it and ended up getting ME2. I didn't touch it until last September. I would be perfectly happy throwing all of my games in the fireplace as long as this soon to be trilogy sits safe and sound next to my 360.

Saw a ME2 video on YouTube about the LI's....so I was like, whoa you can hook up with somebody in the game....went and bought it that day.....the rest is history with buying ME1 and creating 8 saved games starting from scratch.

I played DA:O and fell in love with it. I wanted a game that had a deep story and was character-oriented. After I showed my friend DA, he showed me ME. At first I was iffy about it because I sucked at shooters back then, but after I got a lot better it's become one of my favorite games. I've replayed it more times than I expected. A lot more. haha

Managed to get a free copy of ME2 with a Dragon Age 2 cross over promotion EA did. Played for an age, then bought ME1 on Origin and expansions then played that to death as well.

Now just waiting for my ME3 CE - can't wait!

I just kept hearing about how great the series was from the internet and friends. One friend mentioned the whole every choice matters aspect of it and I thought that was pretty interesting. In 2011 I was kinda transitioning to RPG's, I was more of a platformer/FPS gamer, but now I'm hitting all cylinders pretty much. Eventually, I decided to get both game pre-owned from Gamestop for like $19 each. Fat forward 4 months later and here I am just about dying to get my hands on ME3.

Me and my friends went to go watch Star Trek (2009).
The one who plays Mass Effect said "This kind of reminds me of Mass Effect"
I asked him what Mass Effect was.
I went to buy it the next day.

Now it's the series I never get bored of.

I started with KOTOR 1 and followed Bioware's progress in making ME1. It was a day one purchase for me. I actually waited to buy the xbox 360 on the day that ME1 was released.

When ME2 came out I brought a 58" flat screen for my man cave just for that game.

Not sure what to get for ME3........ Maybe a some new furniture for the cave.

Hated RPG's.

Been playing pc games since the 90's, mostly FPS and flight sims. Then one day in 2007 I said to myself, "self, enough running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Let's slow it down a bit." So, I asked the steam forums which action/RPGish game to go with Fall Out or MassEffect.

I picked Fall Out. Played if for about 1 hour and got bored, didn't feel "it" ... you know? So, went back and downloaded ME from steam. Whoaa! The opening scenes and gameplay got me hooked.

And that's me story...

From the moment I heard about it. I bought a 360 mainly to play ME. All the other good games on it were just the icing.

I had been watching it for a long time before I bought it in 2008, I wasn't sure if I wanted it or not until I decided to buy it. It immediately became my favorite game. Before it was Splinter Cell Chaos Theory but I changed to Mass Effect after Splinter Cell went bad.

I was at a friends house and it was, I think, around 2:00 in the morning. We were basically just hanging out and playing Halo on Xbox live. After some time of this he said "I'm going to go on the computer for a bit, you can do whatever."
And I said "Alright."
So I looked at his stack of games and saw the first Mass Effect. My friend had told me earlier about how it was a pretty good game, but I had my doubts. So I popped that sucker in and....didn't like it. I thought it was mediocre, though I think it was just because I was super tired.

A month or so later I was hanging out at another friends house and it was just about time to leave, when I saw he had Mass Effect in his stack of games. I was hesitant to try it again, but I couldn't shake that feeling that I hadn't given it an honest chance, so I asked if I could borrow it. He said "Sure. You know, I didn't like it at first but I kept playing and I got into it. The combat is not done very well though."
So when I got home I put the game into my Xbox and tried it one more time. Here I should add that I listened to the music on the main menu for a bit and loved it. It was so mysterious and creepy but slightly calming at the same time.
Anyway, with a clear and awake mind I played the game and loved it. It was probably the best thing I ever played in my life. I didn't want to give it back, but I had to. Now I was dying to get the game back but never did until a couple of months after I got ME2.
I currently have the Collectors Edition of ME3 preordered and I am dying of anticipation.

Well I remember waiting untill Halo 3 came out before getting a 360. After that i decided to fish around for some other games.
I saw Mass Effect and thought "Ohh this looks like it could be good" so I got it and liked it, but after about 4 playthroughs i decided to trade it in.
Then I heard about Mass Effect 2 and it looked cool so i bought ME1 again and played through it, the ME2 came out and I was like "WWWWWWWWWWOOOAAAAAAAH!"

i heard about it when i was in 10th grade, 4 and a half years ago, asked my god father to buy the game for me thinking it was like halo and cod (this was when i thought cod and halo were the best shooters ever). i played it and i hated it. months later i gave it another chance and bam, i loved it. ive got an original copy of mass effect 1 that still has the orange sticker at the top of the box that says " do not sell before 11/20/07" love it.

5 diff play through on both games and now i patiently wait for mass effect 3........... and street fighter x tekken :)

First time I saw a screenshot of Mass Effect I thought it was similar to a Final Fantasy game.

One day a friend brought it over and I started playing it. Since I love astronomy and such, I loved it. I have been "hooked" to Mass Effect ever since.

I was looking for something to fill the gap Oblivion had left once i was done with it, i noticed Dragon Age: Origins and started taking an interest in it. Catching up on info and trailers that had been released prior to my interest i saw the blood dragon armor trailer and noticed the tie in to Mass Effect 2. After checking ME2 out i had to make a decision over wich i would get DA:O or ME2, since i was looking out for a fantasy RPG i stuck with DA. That plan hit the fan and a couple months down the line when ME2 came out i bought it day 1. After a couple of play throughs i realised that on youtube videos some people had little extras i didnt, like Rana Thanoptis popping up in Grunts recruitment etc. That was when my head truly asploded :D decisions from the first carried over and there were significant in-game changes based on this. So i went out and bought the first one, still trying to create my main playthrough character even now on it haha. Bought all ME 2 dlc and pre-ordered ME3 N7 edition as soon as i could.

I was planning to buy ME1 when it first came out. I ended up not buying it because of the restrictive DRM, then I forgot about the game. Last year, I after playing FO: NV, I was looking for a new game and I found ME2. After reading some reviews, I decided to buy ME2. I also bought ME1 since it was already cheap.

I watched/heard about ME1 at E3 2007. August that year I pre-ordered the ME1 Limited Edition, and I haven't looked back since. Basically I'm a golden oldie when it comes to ME. =P
